Playing FFX and just realized I pretty often have 99 powe

/speed/ability spheres. Should I be pumping them into Aeons until I get down to like 20 max at any time? What's worth actually putting into stats? (In the mt gagazet caves right now)

ID: hpixohd

HP and MP are almost always worthwhile, otherwise it's good to boost the Aeon's statistical holes, like a lacking amount of Accuracy for example or very low Agility, the required sphere-amount is relative to their current stat, so if an Aeon has only like 15 Agility, spending Speed Spheres to raise it doesn't cost a particularly large amount so the increases are that much more impactful.

Personally I would keep the upper limit at 50, rather than 20.

I'm confused why you're capable of increasing an Aeon's luck anyway, but that's a bad idea period, Fortune Spheres (and Luck Spheres) are part of the endgame grind on two particularly painful special repeatable boss monsters, and at that point, rather than spending them on individual Aeons, you could simply turn an empty node on the Sphere-Grid into a Luck+4 field and activate that with a Fortune Sphere for Yuna, Yuna's gains in Luck transfer 1:1 to her Aeons, so it is always simply a better idea to give Yuna the Luck over the Sphere-Grid, and not her Aeons.

I am planning on buying FFVIII on Steam now that it's on sale but i am not sure which version should i buy. I heard that the remastered version tends to crash frequently but looks somewhat better than the original. Anyone have any experience with the remaster?

ID: hpd9gwx

Maybe this will help

4 : Anonymous2021/12/20 18:43 ID: hpbq751

Because FF: Crystal Chronicles is currently on sale, I would like to ask whether the problems with the terrible online multiplayer have finally been solved or whether you can finally play the game together locally, I would really like to play the game, but if these problems persist, I can do without it.

5 : Anonymous2021/12/23 12:03 ID: hpo9zfx

I'm new to this game franchise and wanna try it, and now it's on sale in steam. I'm interested in VII and X, so can someone suggest which one should I play first? Since I have enough to buy only just one of them.

ID: hpocg6s

I would recommend 7 first, unless you can't handle graphics that look like this/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/19899695/ply_cloudff_grading.jpg). It has a lot more standard elements of the series (such as an explorable world map). Also if you do plan to play the others eventually, I find it a lot easier to play older games first and get more modern than to do it the other way around.

7 and 10 both have great stories though, so go for either.

6 : Anonymous2021/12/23 20:18 ID: hpq2032

Question about the pixel remasters: are all the remaster released until this moment in this collection the definitive edition of these games? I mean, i really wanna get the pixel remaster collectin, but i just would like to make sure that they are also the definitive (most complete in terms of content) edition of these FF games.

ID: hprswjl

The Pixel Remasters only have the content from the original games, so nothing that was added in the GBA/PSP/DS versions. Now, honestly, the vast majority of that content is just post-game dungeons that are pretty average at best (the lone exception is the Soul of Rebirth from the GBA/PSP versions of FFII, that one actually adds some story), so I personally think the Pixel Remasters are the best versions anyways, but that's just me.

If you really want the versions with the most content, then you want the PSP versions of I and II, the 3D versions of III and IV (PSP is also an option for IV), and the GBA versions of V and VI.

What is ur favorite song from any FF chapters?

I'm making piano covers for my yt channel and I want to make one cover from every FF chapter. If you had to choose one song from every FF chapter, what would it be? 🙂

ID: hpgf1lr

If you’re doing piano covers, Interrupted by Fireworks would be a great place to start.

Hey friends, question on augments in IV 3D. When I look up guides on augments they usually recommend distributions based on max stats. If I wanted to experiment with my own builds without regard to min/maxing, would I still be ok taking on the superbosses (given decent strategy and level)?

9 : Anonymous2021/12/21 04:47 ID: hpdzor7

Hello friends! Is just me or the pixel remaster games doesn't work with a controller on android?

10 : Anonymous2021/12/21 15:34 ID: hpfn23v

Hello, I started playing the FF7 remake and I thought I saw a post talking about how it has dual subs, but I can't seem to find anything like that in the settings, have I mistaken it for another game, are there no dual subtitles in this one?

11 : Anonymous2021/12/21 16:12 ID: hpfsjr2

So I almost finished FFVII in like a week and I loved it to bits and now I want to play the whole series. Is it ok if I start with the first game? Is it good? Won't I get bored after 5 games? And if you recommend I only play some of the games, which should I play and which should I not.

ID: hpkjuq8

I agree with Keith. I find the first three games to be kind of plodding, although the re-releases of FF1 make it more tenable by simplifying the magic and item systems, and increasing experience and gold drops. But if you loved 7, there's a good chance that any game from 4 through 10, and 12, will appeal to you. (11 is an MMORPG.) I'd also recommend FF Tactics, if you're into strategy or tactical RPGs, or Mystic Quest, if you're ever looking for a breezy, easy RPG.

ID: hpg18q3

The first three games are very dated in my opinion. The fourth is when the stories start getting better. 7 is the first 3d game, so that is where it starts feeling like a more modern game. As there is no relation between games, there is no reason to play them in any particular order. If you want to try an older game, go for 6 as it's widely considered one of the best overall. My personal favorites are 9 and 10. If you are going to skip some, I would vote skip 1-3 first and start with 4 if you are going straight through the series.

There was just a poll for fan votes for all games.

that is a pretty good option to choose where to start.

How come some of the summons in Final Fantasy 6 can self destruct the party? Used the random magicite item in a dungeon and it summoned three different espers, only for it to do AOE damage to everything and wipe my party. I got sent back an hour because of it.

ID: hpkjfdf

6 is somewhat unique in that elemental resistances, absorption and magic evade are WAY more important than base defense and magic defense. Late game, your equipment build can often be built upon completing evading all magical attacks. If that's the case, then using some Esper / magicite attacks can be viable.

That being said... 6 isn't a particularly hard game, and there are about a dozen ways to do incredible amounts of damage to enemies that *don't* carry any risk. The game offers variety for depth and lore reasons, but that doesn't necessarily correlate to combat efficiency.

Hey y’all, I want to play through the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy. However, since I’m playing on pc, I’ve heard varying reports on what the best pc version of the trilogy there is. If someone can explain what the best versions of the trilogy is on pc to get, I’d appreciate it.

ID: hpmmkbw

To my knowledge there's only one version of the trilogy on pc?

Hi! I'm playing final fantasy xiv and as far as I can figure meet requirements to start on sage path but....it still shows up as locked. :c would that my level 70 class was bought mean that it doesn't count toward that qualification? Do I have to complete some certain missions ahead?

I REALLY want to try sage but I just can't figure it out

ID: hpn5139

Do you own Endwalker?

15 : Anonymous2021/12/23 01:15 ID: hpmonef

The "New to Final Fantasy?">"Which version should I play?" hasn't been updated since the Pixel Remasters are out and I'm curious on which to play for these titles. I've heard glowing response to the soundtrack and QoL of 1-5 but am unsure on just what bonus content is missing, is the bonus content even worth it for certain games? Thank you.

ID: hpms1le

All the bonus content is basically missing. The PR's are remasters of the original games, and anything added after those isn't included. I can't really say if the bonus dungeons etc. are worth it. Personally I figured I'd probably never play the oldest games without the QoL improvements, bonus content or not so I just went with the PR's.

16 : Anonymous2021/12/23 01:22 ID: hpmpkui

Hi, could someone help me? I’m curious about the sales of all main titles. I only find a top five..

17 : Anonymous2021/12/23 02:43 ID: hpmzqmk

Should I buy FF7 remake? I tried the demo when it first came out and found the combat a bit overwhelming. Maybe it's because I'm old, or I'm just not used to having action mixed with turn-based? I can play 3rd person action games or shooters, but combat in FF7R was really confusing and busy.

Does it get better?

ID: hpojsxq

If you found the action combat in FF7R demo to be confusing and busy, then you probably won't think the full game is any better.

Personally I think the game is a turn based game that lets you spend time between turns auto attacking if you so choose. If you play it that way, you may find it better. Characters pretty much can only do impactful actions when their meter fills, so you are really encouraged to switch between characters to do their "turns".

FF5 Pixel Remaster - Is there a list somewhere for the Adventurous Wayfarer steam achieve? (Travel to all the map locations)

19 : Anonymous2021/12/23 13:02 ID: hpoff7v

So what are people's general opinion on World of Final Fantasy: Maxima?

From Steam and some videos, it looks like a little monster collection game.

How much RNG would that involve? Is the game generally good?

ID: hpoke38

I really liked it. It's better the more FF games you've played. The only real RNG involved in the collecting is running around getting random battles in a particular zone until you get the one you want to recruit.

20 : Anonymous2021/12/23 15:04 ID: hpotmeq

I've been looking for another FF game to play. I've played FF7R, FF15, FF10, and FF12ZA. I've heard 13 isn't that great, but heard Type-O is pretty so so as well. Would anyone mind recommending me which one would be better to start?

ID: hpox54g

It seems like you are drawn to the newer games. While 13 is... okay, if you go into it with the right expectations it can be relatively enjoyable. 13-2 is better, and I enjoyed it more. Again, go into it with the right expectations.

If you enjoyed 10, 10-2 may be worth an exploration. While I am not a fan of the tone, story, or general aesthetic of the game 10-2 does have one of the better combat / job systems with the Dress Sphere.

If you are interested in better understanding FF7R, I recommend the original game and I also recommend Crisis Core (consider watching Advent Children as well).

FF8 is very different, and has one of the best beginnings of any of the games. If you make it to the end of the second disc and feel like stopping, that's fine. lol.

FF9 is amazing, but slower. It's definitely my favorite (and the favorite of the creator of Final Fantasy). I do recommend it, but I also think it's best played after playing one of 1, 2, or 3 and two of 4, 5, and 6.

Honestly? Pick one that sounds or looks cool to you. Type-0 isn't great, but it can be fun and interesting. It's certainly very different.

Ok I have switch lite, the Nintendo store has 50% off atm. Which would be better out of 8 or 9? They are both same price. Any opinion will be welcome. I have 12 and have played 10 ages ago.

ID: hpqx1ko

9 is far more welcome than 8, 8 can be quite divisive you either like it or not, there is not too much room for middle ground with 8.

ID: hpqxb4r

9 is the better game overall, but 8 has one of the best first parts of any of the FF games, plus some real bangers for music.

I will say I'm not a huge fan of what they did with 8 graphically for the update. Plus it's based on the weird and janky PC port of 8 and not the ps release. Even so, it's still solid.

9, is however, a little better when you are more familiar with the older games (1-6), as it's sort of a love letter to the Final Fantasy games before the PS1 generation. No direct references and it isn't necessary, but there is an element of nostalgia that will be missed if you haven't experienced what the game is harkening back to.

Two quick questions about FF7 modding:

Firstly, the readme for the New Threat difficulty mod says I'm supposed to disable the new translation from the Reunion Mod. Is there not a way to have both the gameplay changes from New Threat and the script from Reunion? And, if not, how different are the two scripts? I imagine they're both better than the PS1 version's, but is one significantly better than the other?

Secondly, both New Threat and SSR say to edit the Mod_ID variable in options.ini - if I want both those mods installed, do I separate them by a comma, as in

Mod_ID = SRR, New_Threat_2.0

Or do I have multiple lines of Mod_ID, or what?

23 : Anonymous2021/12/24 16:33 ID: hptmko7

Confused about Stranger to paradise is it a remake of Final Fantasy 1 or a spinoff, anyway the game interests me.

Hi. Im playing FFIV pixel remaster and i dont know how to defeat the boss Baigan.(LOL) Any tips?

ID: hpw8lce

Have Tellah cast Reflect on Yang, then pelt Yang with offensive spells. They'll bounce off Tellah's Reflect and hit Baigan, even if he himself has Reflect. Alternatively, have Yang use Kick, and Palom cast Quake, since neither are affected by Reflect.

Hey, I'm thinking of doing a replay of FFXV soon. I first played it on initial release and really enjoyed it, but never did the dlc. I recently picked it up on sale and want to try again, but this time I want the complete experience. I want to watch all the films + animations, read all the books, comics, play the DLCs, etc.

I know that the compilation of FFXV is very big and spans many types of media. Is there a list of everything I need to pursue (and ideally an order to do it in) that I can follow?

ID: hpx73m8

AFAIK you watch the anime, then watch Kingsglaive, and then play the game.

26 : Anonymous2021/12/25 11:21 ID: hpwouna

I just got ff13 on steam (asia so the games in japanese)

i played the original in the ps3 and i can say for certain that the port is kinda not good. what mods are a must have for having a better experience overall? i wanna know what i should prioritize to get cuz the download speed in nexus mods are whack for mods with huge size

ID: hpx300t

This is basically the one you want, helps with performance. Most of the mods on nexus are either graphical enhancements or gameplay mods so they aren't really necessary.

27 : Anonymous2021/12/25 20:49 ID: hpy9ual

How's the pc port of World of Final Fantasy? The game looks intresting but i heard mixed reviews on it so i am not sure if i should just buy it on switch.

28 : Anonymous2021/12/20 22:02 ID: hpcixww

Where the hell is FFVI Pixel Remaster??

ID: hpgv2vq

Square Enix just posted February 2022

29 : Anonymous2021/12/23 08:03 ID: hpns0if

Why do people think X is good? When I first played X and heard the voice "acting"... Oh god. Ha ha ha ha. What is wrong with everyone?

It's terrible. Not only does it have absolute garbage acting, it also deviated so far from every other FF staple.

If it wasn't named Final Fantasy, it wouldn't be considered a Final Fantasy game.

In all honesty, X put me off FF. I didn't play XI at all. XII I tried briefly, at least the acting wasn't as bad. XIII I gave up after running forward for about 10 hours. I've never even seen any newer ones.

ID: hpok01f

It's largely a generational thing. Same reason why people who grew up with the SNES games wonder why people think FF7 is good. Most of these communities skew on the younger side, but since FFX is now nearly two decades old you're going to start seeing more people who grew up with other FF like 13 or 15 (assuming they liked them) talking about how great and moving those games were.

ID: hpnukjt

Maybe I’m just weird but I actually just started X tonight and I haven’t been able to put it down. Played about 7 hours straight. I haven’t had a complaint yet. Maybe it’s because I haven’t played the earlier games in the series but I’ve had a great experience with it so far.

31 : Anonymous2021/12/22 16:08 ID: hpkitd6

So, uh... Any particular reason you tried 10-2 and 13-2, instead of the base games? Both of those are direct sequels, and while you don't have to play the originals, it really helps.

Typically, the suggested entry point is FF10. It's a turn-based RPG, but with cinematics and visuals that still hold up pretty well. If you're more into action RPGs, I'd recommend 15. Both games are also pretty affordable, in the $0 to $15 range. (They're sometimes on Game Pass, but I'm not sure if they are right now.) If you don't like either of those, given the other conditions you mentioned in your post (don't like MMORPGs, don't like older games), then the FF series probably isn't for you.

32 : Anonymous2021/12/23 17:45 ID: hppgapa

Any news about pixel remasters for switch?

I’ve played almost every final fantasy except for V and VI. I recently bought a backbone for my iPhone 13, so I could play them fairly comfortably on my phone.

That being said, I would prefer having the option to play it play it on my tv occasionally. Have there been any updates about it coming to switch?

33 : Anonymous2021/12/22 07:40 ID: hpj6and

I wanted to ask which final fantasy game is best to start with? I've never played before but never gotten then chance to do so lol

34 : Anonymous2021/12/22 13:01 ID: hpjvcai

There is no real recommended order. Pick a game with an aesthetic and/or storyline that interests you and go from there. Just know that games with a -2 or -3 at the end are sequels to the ones before it and are intended to be played in order. (X -> X-2, XIII -> XIII-2 -> XIII-3). Even then you can always go back and the stories are still largely self contained, even if they are continuing the previous story.

Strong starter recommendations are any of IV-X, generally. But if you want a simpler game that's harder I-III are still classics, and you can explore the roots of the series. If you want a more actiony game XIII is faster actiony combat, and XV is straight up an action rpg (though both of those games have less than stellar reputations due to story issues).

35 : Anonymous2021/12/24 15:19 ID: hptd8cu

Start with FF VII Remake. It's easily the best modern FF not counting the MMORPG.
