Game gives you braindead silver teammates in gold and above with it being extremely noticeable in diamond. Your enemies are usually diamond or above however, making it impossible to win. The matchmaking is made to force players into a 50% win rate.
ID: hm1pg9sID: hm1arwqIn a vacuum, 50% win rate is what I look for. Means you are playing evenly matched opponents every match which is what I want. However, in reality, like you allude to, a lot of it seems like easy 3-0 wins vs bad players, or 3-0 losses vs vastly superior competition.

It's usually one diamond and two silver's Vs 3 golds. It does not feel good.

ranked arenas is so utterly broken for Solos dude.
and the system often puts you at a disadvantage that is easily measured in player damage.
Me: 2700 Dmg
teammate1: 500 Dmg
teammate2: 800 DMG
Enemy1: 2300 DMG
Enemy2: 2600 DMG
enemy 3: 1000 DMG
so the system thinks that these Odds are fair game.

Only play it for rewards. Haven't touched this season. Hopefully matchmaking has gotten better

Played it for a few weeks when it first came out, got very boring very quickly. All you have to do is to hold angles and watch your teammates to prevent pushes. The mode exacerbates the two things I dislike in BR pubs - hand holding and defensive play.
Haven't touched arenas for a long time, and I really don't want to. I don't have anyone on my friends list who plays arena either. I'd play the shit out of some TDM mode though.

ID: hm1n38bI don't think there is any more hype on arenas in the community tbh. It's pretty much a meme by now, cemented by respawn keeping to push people to play arenas with arenas-only event challenges in the Halloween event. A lot of people weren't happy about that. It just looks like respawn is pulling all the strings to try and force people to play this flop of a mode.
Apex has brilliant movement mechanics. Combine that with map environment and dynamic fights (3rd partying, focus switching, repositioning, flanking, etc) and it's glorious. But arenas just feels like valorant. And even valorant has a deathmatch mode.

just use arena mode, when im getting slaughtered in pubs, then start get triple rampaged in arenas and go back to getting slaughtered in pubs

Arenas is complete trash & it’s matchmaking is absolutely atrocious, I’m lv500 1k+ hours with a positive KD every season in both modes, why am i getting legitimate new players who I’m 99% sure are actual fucking bots. I hate playing it & will only touch it for challenges (please stop making challenges for it), its boring & repetitive with everyone using the overpowered rampage.

Can y’all stop posting this? It gets hardly any attention and all the comments are actually legit criticisms of this horribly flawed game mode. I’ve only seen this get less and less engagements each time it’s posted. Kill this.

Boring as hell game mode that I only play for skin rewards during the season when they have those mini events. Still have no idea why this game mode launched without an objective. Every game is just take high ground in the circle and poke until you get a down.

ID: hm1xuifIt doesn’t have an objective which is true but there are WAY more variables to the point where any one strategy will not work 100 of the time. The rings will be wildly different the amount of teams that are around is increased to the point where it’s difficult (but doable) to hold high ground.
Care package weapons matter way more there’s also more movement and ability use to force teams to adjust their strategy.
You can disengage, bait teams to fight third party etc.
There’s no objective but it’s an entirely different game that’s wildly different almost every time. Which is far more fun to me. Not having ANYTHING to mix up the strategy for arenas makes this game mode extremely stale and based on the engagements to these discussion threads and other content centered around arenas vs the BR I would say the majority of players feel the same way.

I have no problem fighting 2vs3 as long as my random buddy is always a predator.
On the other side winning against 1 or 2 predators is really satisfying as a rather casual player

Now it makes sense why the majority of player who play ranked are hard stuck diamonds. What the fuck do you expect when you constantly get 2 shitty teammates going against pre made master and preds like WTF

I love arena mode but.. Its unplayable if u are solo queue ... Im getting silvers as teammates meanwhile im diamond.. i just lost 3 times in row cuz teammates had 400 dmg per game ...

there are so many teammates who get less than 200 damage in a full game, it’s not fun, and it’s not like it’s their fault, when they’re silver and matchmaking putting them in diamond-pred lobbies

Arenas is babysitting simulator. Most of those random teammates can't even do 1v1 and died instantly. This is the worst gamemode for soloq

The matchmaking needs some work, especially in ranked. The other day I decided to finish off my placement games with a friend of mine just cuz we were a little bored. I ended up a silver one, and he ended up at gold 4. We had one game with a teammate who was diamond 4 and I have to admit, we had a good game, but it’s a little weird that when solo or duo queueing you can have a teammate 2+ tiers ahead of you, but you can’t party up with a difference of more than one? I can understand that maybe there is a bit of a population issue in ranks higher than plat, therefore high ranked players get worse teammates and opponents, but it makes it honestly pointless to grind if you generally aren’t getting matches that are at your supposed skill level.
As for unranked arenas, it just gets extremely frustrating when you solo queue, especially as a semi-experienced player. I’m level 500 but get teammates around level 90 and below, while going up against opponents all above level 250. It’s genuinely just a 1v3 simulation for me most games.

I enjoy arenas but afk/disconnecting teammates is ruining the mode.
If my teammate disconnects I should be able to leave without getting a timeout penalty.

level 1-20 teammates, level 500, apex predator opponents 90% of the time (or in ranked, bronze-silver teammates who’ve just unlocked ranked, master-apexpred opponents, I am a diamond player and this happens all the time.)
that being said, it is a fun gamemode and allows you to get right into the action and/or test guns against real opponents with high customisation for guns, being able to use any gun (with an exception to carepack guns) and use any sight is very fun, just wish the matchmaking would put you with and against fair levels and ranks so that every game isn’t a trek to win.
another thing about arenas (and br in all fairness) is how when someone is afk, disconnected, or has a complete sub-par amount of damage (in a lot of cases, 0, which should be another way to determine being “afk”) the match is still counted as a loss, and you lose all the points you’d lose when you do have teammates.

Hey maybe I'm crazy but I enjoy arenas. Maybe if you hate it so much and don't have some constructive criticism that isn't regurgitated 50 times per thread, dont comment? I'd love to be able to discuss arenas with people who actually enjoy it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Most of the people who play it know that already bro. The comment right above this is literally saying they like 3v3, yet the matchmaking ruins it. I enjoy the mode itself, and yes the matchmaking is ass.

you can’t play with console players though? if you can then it’s probably through a party where they have partied with another pc player, but console players cannot play with pc normally.

Yep. You basically have to get a premade or some matches are just 'welp, guess this is a loss'
There's literally nothing you can do when both your team mates go down in 2 seconds at the start of a gunfight and it's 3 Vs 1 every round.
