I used to read a variety of games sites and Ars Technica for some tech and science stuff. They've all gone Covid and critical race theory nuts.

What are some good, middle of the road, not overly political tech and film and games sites?

Unfortunately youtube is where is at now.

The websites are too far gone and theyre only obsessed with covid and critical race theory because they money is running out

Journalists are now activists and propagandists. Then real journalists are doing videos

Youtube is too much like the wild west for me. I mean, I have shit I watch but don't trust things there anymore than anywhere else.

anandtech.com maybe? I haven't looked at it lately but last I was browsing there regularly (last summer during all the race rioting) they were still just doing tech.

If you're interested in laptop/tablet/phone reviews, notebookcheck.net is really good.

eh I use slashdot, or

for tech stuff. They're aggregators, but I find just directly going to a single publisher news site weird.

Still a little heavy on the covid, and sometimes go a little lefty idpol, but where can you go that doesn't.

I used to read /. for the informative comments from tech experts. Now it's just a shitshow of idpol and tech pretenders.

Slashdot is horrendous, it's insanely biased both in the "tech" topics they cover and in the comment sections.

I'm not sure, but

seems to be neutral. I would say the same for WCCFTech as well.

But WCCFTech's community and Mods on their Disqus seem to censo

any comments that talk about SJWs in a negative manner so that could be a sign of bias perhaps with the staff (but not of their Tech articles).

yeah youtube is your one, yet still nothing is unbiased (like any source of information anywhere) youtubers tend to be more accountable to their audience.

for tech I like MKBHD, who I tend to cross reference with other places like Linus tech tips.

for science no where is safe except the journals themselves and even then not so much.

I'd try university tech journals.

is great, never seen anything political on there for the most part. People bitching about trumps tariffs were countered by people explaining why the chinese shouldnt get a free pass for everything, with both comments having upvotes. / is less liberal than /, still not great though.

Ars is still pretty unbiased. No CRT (maybe the monitors) there and Covid is the biggest science story of the last few years.

Ars has had a strong political bent for several years now, and the rigour of their technical coverage has slid over the same time.
