Depends on what you want to do with it. I use mine for emulation and it's great.

I've always wanted an "all out" APU build and I've finally done it. I upgraded an i5 7600 (non-k) about 2-3 months ago to a 5700G and it's been awesome for this purpose.

How good it is with the adobe cc suite? Can this apu handle basic editing tasks?

I can't answer that as I use mine for game emulation and it's a complete beast for that purpose. I image it'd be decent for productivity.

It's a little better than a 3700X. It's not the best but it's no slouch.

Why people do not recommend it and how good it compare to ryzen 7 5800x .

ID: hkpm4td

It has some disadvantages vs 5800X- is limited to PCIe 3.0, and it's performance is between 3700X and 5800X. Not an issue if you will be upgrading the CPU (to Zen3+V-cache, I assume?).

It's because the smaller cache makes it quite a bit slower, and it's damn expensive if you're not going to use the integrated graphics for long.

Because if you don't need the graphics part, it's a bad value.

It's fine, plenty of reviews will show the exact margin between the 3700 and 5800 but unless you're doing time sensitive work or staring at csgo fps you'd struggle to notice a difference. PCI-E 3 isn't ideal if you're planning on grabbing a brand new GPU in the future though.

The gpu is only worth a gt1030 sadly which is rough for any sort of gaming, you can happily esport at 60fps but even stuff as old as skyrim SE will make it chug. YMMV with used depending on location but where I am you can grab a 3600+1050ti for the same price which would give you a much better experience now and would be a fairly painless upgrade down the line when everything calms down.

GL with it.

Thanks, Buddy for the information.

unless you need the absolute horse power offered by the 2 extra cores... the 5600g would arguably be a more cost effective solution and likely easier to sell if your intention is to replace it once you get a gpu.

7 : Anonymous2021/11/15 18:42 ID: hkr1v4m

perfectly fine.

There's also MINIMAL reason to upgrade the CPU if you have a 5700g.

The other, heretical consideration would be Alderlake.

If you don't need the iGPU, price match a 5800x for $330(matched to MicroCenter) and get far better performance when you get a GPU.

Wait for rembrant

ID: hkplltm

That may be a very long wait- Rembrandt is most likely coming only to AM5 (if coming to DIY at all), which would be a year, or more from now.

I waiting too , and i think there will not be reason buy cpu with APU in late 2022. + They will beat intel /nvidia very easy.
