I've been replaying all the Resident Evil games before I play Village, ( well all the main games and revelations 1/2 and Code: Veronica ) and I'm just finished 6 and about to move onto 7. I've had Village since it came out and have been dying to play it but it's taken me longer than I thought it would to play through everything. I never bought the resident evil 7 dlc so basically is it worth playing? I suppose I'm more asking is it worth playing in a story sense than is it just worth playing in general. If I don't have to buy the dlc then I'd rather just go straight into 8 after 7. I might give Not A Hero a go since it's free.

End of Zoe 100%. It's the true ending to 7.
Not a Hero 95%. It wraps up 7 and Lucas.
Daughters 75%. It's a prequel about the Bakers.
The rest 25%-50%. They are just fun to mess around with.
ID: hbci4mxID: hbctjfqJust wanna add that the "rest" DLC is super fun. It's the most fun I've had with extra content since RE4's Mercenaries mode. Such a good time.
ID: hbdbua8Exactly what I was gonna say. You have to play End of Zoe. It’s also REALLY fun and unique. All the DLC for 7 was really fun. (Actually really enjoyed the psycho black Jack game)

Yeah sure, I enjoyed them. Just adds more content to an already fantastic game.

Thanks for all the feedback, decided to get the gold edition cause I'll probably not replay resi7 for the foreseeable future so now is as good a time as any to play the dlc.
-
Absolutely, without a doubt. They're all great.

You should play the Not a Hero, the Daughters and EoZ DLCs. In that order. The Bedroom too if you don't mind, it isn't essential but it's pretty short, although you can leave it for later to play it with Nightmare DLC (since it feels right to play it with that one I suppose). The rest can be left for another time since you're excited for RE8.
But do play those first 3 DLCs I mentioned, if you want to close RE7.

Yes please do, the Jack's birthday is weird but all the other stuff is great
ID: hbd5opaIt’s weird and kinda fun in my opinion

Not A Hero and End Of Zoe 100% absolutely. Those are the true end of RE7. Daughters I'd give an 85% yes because it's a super compact prequel of events. Bedroom, Nightmare, and 21 I'd say 50/50 if you wanna live out Clancy's story to its fullest. Jack's 55th and Ethan Must Die are non-canon mini-games but still fun.

All the DLCs for re7 are fucking astounding. Absolutely.
-
Lore wise, you definitely want to play End of Zoe for the canon ending to RE7, Not a Hero to wrap up what happened to Lucas as well as establishing a likely future plotline, and Daughters if you want to see the beginning of the Baker family's descent into madness. The rest are just purely fun BUT some of them are actually mostly canon to the story.

You don’t really need to play 7 to like or understand 8. It even gives you a synopsis of 7
ID: hbbjz8wThanks but I was asking if I needed to play the dlc for 7, not the base game itself.
ID: hbbk7v3Oh whoops. The DLC is fine. Tbh as long as you know what happened it not really that worth it to play unless your a hyper fan of 7 IMO
