Wish these guys would make an Until Dawn sequel. Nothing else they're going for is working for me.

They lost me after Man of Medan. I'd buy these for $5 - 10 the most
ID: hbkry8pSuch a bummer. I loved Until Dawn and was excited for Supermassive’s future. Has any of these releases since then been the same caliber? Sounds like their choice to switch format into episodic was a mistake.
ID: hbksg0zFrom what I've seen they're not even close to being as good. Man of Medan was straight trash especially the opening parts, then it got slightly fun and was over before you knew it
ID: hbkwqidSame. Until Dawn was one of my favorite experiences. I played through multiple times with different groups of people and it was fun every time. Got the platinum.
I got man of medan to play again with the first group of people but it was so fkn bad. I got it on release, bc we were all getting together again, but we were so disappointed. It started ok but about halfway through when we realized it was all a hallucination, it lost all sense of scariness/pressure. Completely the opposite of until dawn, where the stakes were raised when the wendigo wad revealed
I haven't even looked at the others. I'll probably pick up the village one on deep deep sale, maybe this one if its good too.

I wonder if this studio just got lucky with Until Dawn, everything they made after that has been pretty bad
ID: hblcr1aIt was the writers. They got two horror filmmakers to write Until Dawn and it showed.
ID: hblm5zhAnd voice acting from talented actors helped too. Man of Medan was laughable in that regard.

The attempt to make a years long anthology series felt misguided right from the start and now they’re still pumping out these mediocre games when they could have started work on something fresh after Man Of Medan was crap.

Little Hope was amazing.
I pre-ordered this, and I certainly won’t be watching any gameplay, especially 15mins. Why do people watch 15min of gameplay? That’s ruining a lot of a game for you. Even the Horizon gameplay was far too much, and I regret having watched it, but it’s one of those things where you want to see the graphics and mechanics advancements.

I loved until dawn and liked little hope, but man of medan was terrible and I'm not sold on this one regarding the setting. I will probably give it a try though.

These games are terrible. Tried Man of Medan, the first hour is straight up jumpscares every 2 minutes. No buildup, just loud noise for no reason. Dialogues and voice acting is below average. It’s a huge downgrade from Until Dawn.

I’ll give it a try. My wife and I have enjoyed all the dark pictures games, but until dawn was definitely the best one by a lot thusfar. We even had our two best friends (another couple) play. It had the best story and it isn’t even close. I’m hoping this one is better

Sony invested a lot more money into Until Dawn but everyone knows that. I just wish that the story telling in the Dark Pictures games were a lot better. Not only is the quality of the graphics, controls, and quick-time-events decreased, but the writing as well.
