When i saw the “Insomniac games” logo i was like HOLY FUCK, finally another good Marvel game. Poor Square Enix with their garbage lol

With the clusterfuck that is Avengers, if Guardians bombs I doubt Square will get a chance to make a Thanos game

While film rights are fragmented with Sony owning Spider-Men universe film characters and Universal sort of with Hulk. Marvel for nearly a decade now has owned all the rights to all Marvel characters used in video games, toys and in TV shows. Even for X-Men related TV shows made by Fox Studios like “Legion” and “The Gifted” it still required approval by Marvel/Disney. Marvel/Disney was also still making money off any merch when Fox was making marvel films and still do with Sony. Marvel has a video game division that doesn’t make games but approves studios who have access to use their license. Based on what the director of the Midnight Suns says the Marvel games division were fans of X-COM 2 and approached Firaxis about a Marvel game.

That Guardians trailer was so bad. The jokes fell super flat. The writing is awful. If the gameplay looks fun then that could change a lot but so far with their below par avengers and now this? Hard pass on SE marvel games.
ID: hc8ej0yAgree, tbh i had hope for Avengers but they seem not to even care for the game still has the same bugs as launch, after one failure with a big name im skeptical with Guardians, that one im going to get it but once is on sale, also looks so linear.

Guardians of the Galaxy seemed incredible to me, and besides the idiotic life as a service of marvels avengers that game is actually a pretty good action adventure game
ID: hc8m1gxYeah, I loved the combat of Avengers the problem was due to the GAAS aspect. I’m more excited for Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine, but I’m still pretty excited for Guardians.
I’ll give any Marvel game a try because I want them to keep making more Marvel games.

I get mad the last of us jackson vibes from this bar scene. Those winding, narrow forrest paths. Linear emotional journey, solid technical gameplay. This could be Insomniac showing that they can give depth to a linear world and tell an engaging story the way ND did. Insomniac are on top at PlayStation right now and they just don’t know how to slow down. I love it.

People were already saying this before, but now I agree that Insomniac is going to carry the whole PS5 generation on their back. I'm sure everyone is excited to see what else Naughty Dog, Guerilla, Sucker Punch and Santa Monica are cooking, but they're going to release one or two games each studio at max, meanwhile we're still within the first year of the PS5 life and Insomniac has already announced their 3rd and 4th games in a single showcase.

Everytime i am so sad because the Avengers license belong to Suck Enix and Crystal dynamic.

ID: hc8rt4bI'm fine with this. Sure i wish the avengers game was a little better, but I really enjoyed the main campaign.
We have GotG that looks like it could be good, I'm cautiously optimistic at least, then Midnight Suns rpg, the Spider-man games, Wolverine, and some mobile gatcha games.
Sure there will be some stinkers in there, but compared to a few years ago when we had nothing at all I'm pretty happy to get my marvel fix in games. Especially since MUA3 was the only game for a while.

I am a day one PlayStation fanboy but seeing them collaborate with marvel so heavily makes my heart bleed. I feel nothing but cringe for Marvel characters. There would be so many great ideas for videogames. It makes me sad how little creativity there is in game development these days.

It's funny how it worked out that Square Enix got the traditionally owned Disney Marvel properties, The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, while Insomniac got the ones they didn't own, Spider-Man and the X-Men.
If that trend is anything to go by, I'm dreading Square Enix's Thanos game and eagerly anticipating Insomniac's Fantastic Four.
