Followed shortly by TRS-80 lol

Me too. This past weekend I was telling my wife and oldest about the days of dialing up a BBS on a 2400 bps modem.

ID: hds0uev

Aw man, first some speed loader, then sys288 to load TrailBlazer or Bubble Bobble or whatever from tape. Happy days.

Tandy 128 checking in, with my tape recorder and land-line modem

ID: hdrctn2

Tape recorders were such a pain. I never had a floppy for my c64, but always wished for one. Load times were dreadful.

load "upvote*",8,1

Colecovision….with all the module add ons….joysticks, paddles, steering wheel, track ball…..and it played Atari 2600 games.

ID: hdrbl6k

That's crazy. Like playing xbox games on a ps.

ID: hdrczj3

Yeah I rocked it until I got a NES a few years later. Favorite game was Wargames…it was the IP game for the movie with Matthew Broderick. Sorta like missile defense but way more complicated.

17 : Anonymous2021/09/21 19:51 ID: hdralfq

Started with a 2kb ZX80, then bought an extra cartridge, doubling to a whopping 4Kb memory. Then a TRS-80 Color Computer with 32 Kb, and FOUR colors (gasp!) which properly hacked had 64 Kb. Then a PC XT with the infamous Bill Gate's 640 Kb and an EGA board for a total of 16 colors (that was later on, on a 286, with an Adlib sound board).

18 : Anonymous2021/09/21 19:51 ID: hdramrl

Sinclair ZX81

19 : Anonymous2021/09/21 20:11 ID: hdrdl6p

Oh man, the memories. Had a c64 and c128. Two disk drives and boxes of games. When my family moved it all went in the dump. I kick myself whenever I think about that.

ID: hdrdrq2

Airborne rangers was one of my two non pirated game on c64, the other one was Predator.

A friend had a TRS-80 and I was very jealous. My first was a C64, like the others here. Started with cassette tape, but got a 5.25” drive for Christmas.
