- I recommend: Hot Wheels Unleashed - Skill Up review

Ordered it for £32. I could do with a decent arcade racer to kill the time. Just wish it had some more modes
ID: her8txzID: herieg5I don’t really think any are from your average racer.
It’s probably just me playing too much Mario kart but I’d have liked a battle mode or item mode of some sort. But, it’s probably just not that kind of arcade racer generally
ID: herho5vWhere did you find it for £32? Pls and thanks
ID: heri1qcHe has raised the price to £35 since I purchased it. No idea why, but here’s the listing. Sorry it’s not £32 anymore
ID: heri5wgYou can buy PSN cards for less then there PSN value. Sure I've seen £40 cards for £33 on some websites.

Does this game work with a wheel ?
ID: her48ecI mean, I guess technically it would.
But you’re not really gonna get anything out of playing an arcade hotwheels game with a wheel.

Does anyone know if you can play split screen online?

I love SkillUp, definitely one of my fav reviewers
I feel like he's a little too lenient (for me personally) with scoring games, and I get that that's just him and his opinions (that's not saying anything about Hot Wheels Unleashed at all I know nothing about this game), I just see him recommend a whole lot
I can't really rely on solely him for reviews because he recommends nearly everything and I don't have nearly the time I used to for games anymore - is that why people call him Shill up? I never understood that
Edit: this comment came off a little negatively, sorry I'm not very articulate - just to reiterate, he's probably my favorite reviewer, I think I was trying to say, I personally have trouble differentiating the games he 'recommends' and ones that are truly worth my time, as like I said, I just have no free time anymore!
ID: her24kcbecause he recommends nearly everything
to be fair alot of video games nowadays are really good.
ID: hersunlI think the hard part is that a “recommendation” feels like an endorsement and not just positive review. If you ask me if I liked restaurant you are going to, and I tell you I enjoyed the food, I didn’t recommend it, I just said it was good when I had it. Now, if I told you that you should eat at the restaurant, I have stated not just that it is good, but that you should actively make a choice to go there. That’s a subtle shift but very different thing.
Recommendations feel more special than simple observations of quality.
ID: heqwfl0He does recommend a lot of games, though definitely not nearly everything. I wouldn't just blindly play whatever recommends but if there's a game that already looks good to you and he recommends it, then there's a good chance you'll find the gameplay to be fun.
I find I generally agree with his opinions on a lot of games but he also plays certain types I wouldn't unless playing video games was my full time job, like him.
ID: her1stkHe does recommend a lot of games, though definitely not nearly everything.
that was hyperbole, he recommends a lot of games that most other outlets/reviewers don't, is what I meant
ID: herq8rqI understand where you're coming from but I think his "rating" system is really good. Most other outlets/reviewers will give stiffer ratings - either on absolute scales of 1 - 10, or split up by categories.
I think this gives a bit of a disservice to games that are inherently really good but may not be considered a 10/10 for many reasons.
He pretty much works on a scale of: I do not recommend, I recommend, I strongly recommend. He does a wide variety of games and so if you find something that interests you, and he recommends it, chances are you're gonna like it. You shouldn't feel FOMO for not having time to play all the recommended games - there's not enough time in our lives to play everything that's worth playing, unfortunately.
ID: heqxv8yPeople call him Shill Up as a joke.
ID: her1joyhaha I get that, just don't get why

For when you want to play Mario Kart without powers, I guess
-
It's a game with not alot of substance. The price really needs to be at $20-$30 to be considered worth it. It is fun but just barren.

Can anyone speak to the dualsense support, like compared to something like wrc9?

I played a bit of this today. It's not bad. The presentation is amazing. The races just don't supply enough random variables to make it as fun as I was hoping. I wanted a bit more chaos and unpredictability.
It's mostly just your standard drifting and boosting. There isn't really any interaction with other cars and there are very few obstacles on the tracks. Races can feel very samey. It's a shame because there was a lot of potential to create some interesting environmental hazards for the off-track sections.

I've been loving this game. Developers did a fantastic job getting the arcade racer feel. Constant boosting and drifting. I'd love to see what these devs could do with a Burnout game.

Just wish it had some more modes
As someone who doesn't play racing games much. What modes are missing?
