Do they actually have the rights this time? Will it be janky as fuck like Friday the 13th was? I don't hold out much hope

ID: hf5r2e9Predator suffers the same problem friday the 13th did but it especially suffers from the biggest issue which is the single character (jason or the predator) are both too powerful within the games.
Now I know they absolutely should be powerful that is their whole thing. At the same time though they are games and if they aren't balanced correctly then nobody wants to play the opposing side.
I am going to use predator as the example but after a week of playibg I quickly learnt that I could find them on the map easily, jump in the middle and take out whoever I could. If I got downed I just activated the bomb and victory, they were all dead.
Friday the 13th as Jason they were quickly identified on the map use the teleportation or the speedy travel in first person, grab them and insta kill.
The opposing forces don't have enough to compete against them.

I don't know why Sony haven't commissioned a first party Ghostbusters game, they own the rights after all.

rumors a month ago is that they were working on a Leatherface title. Well as long as they use dedicated servers cause F13 was a shit show on consoles when it launched

ID: hf4vuoeYeah I’d be much more interested in another horror franchise since it just seems to work better with their formula. Granted idk if Texas chainsaw is the right move with leatherface lacking the supernatural aspects that characters like Jason, freddy, and Michael myers tend to have.

Interesting. This could be quite fun if done right. I rather enjoyed Predator despite it being a mediocre game and my girlfriend found it fun too.
What is really interesting is that Predator was published by Sony and was a console exclusive. This should be the same. Do I smell an acquisition coming?

ID: hf4st2iThey seem to be happy working on movie IPs like Predator and Ghostbusters. They also approach multiplayer in a unique way with their games. They don't end up being amazing but they do please a specific group.

Given their track record, should we be excepting some sort of multiplaye
experience? I see how Co-Op could work, but if anything, I would love a single-player oriented experience.There was that one Ghostbusters game back in 2009. It might be interesting to see a fresh take on that. Though maybe this will be something completely different and new?

Please no. They ruined F13 when they took out team killing lol. It made the game so one dimensional. They killed most of the hype around the game, the day they did that.
ID: hf4eqyjI only really played it when it became a PS+ game but my biggest gripe was people working with Jason so he could kill everyone but their friend and then help them escape. Happened 6 matches in a row, so I just deleted the game.

This is disappointing to hear, their games have all been one note and disappointing. Ghostbusters requires a storymode and I don't think they're capable of that.

ID: hf5kx3bI have a love hate relationship for this studio. On one hand they put out some very lackluster games with meh gameplay. On the other hand, the last Predator game was from 2010, and the one before that around 2005 ish. As for Friday the 13, the last game for that franchise was the NES I think? I'm other words, there has been more than enough time for someone else to use the IP, yet no one has stepped to the plate. F13 was not that good and buggy, but I honestly put so much time into the game because it was simple and fun for what it was. I would love another studio to make a triple AAA title from it, but as of now they are the only studio to give it a try. So for that reason I can't really complain.

Hopefully its not yet another asymmetric multiplayer game. Rarely do they work if both sides can directly attack each other. The reason something like DBD works better is because the match and mechanics are easier to balance when one side can't directly attack the other. Or rather, either side has access to specific opposing strengths that the other side does not.
Plus, asymm is so overplayed. Now, if they try to do a Ghostbusters in the same vein as their Arcadegeddon, at least that would be more interesting.

They should just take the old story and dialogue from the 360 game and remake the game from scratch using the UE5 engine.

Illfonic: "Let's destroy another classic horror movie franchise !" I'm a bit tough with Friday 13th, it was fun but full of bugs. Predator on the other hand is one of the worst games ever. So I'm not really confident about this new project.

I won't support Ilffonic or Gun Media after their handling of Friday the 13th. In addition to both knowing the rights dispute was going to effectively end all development, they (along with Horror Inc.) lied to the public about that fact while pushing for more sales.

Sony owns the rights to Ghostbusters so yes I imagine they do
