- Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City Official Trailer
-
idk whether to laugh or cringe at the music choice and the youtube-esque text effects
ID: hfradleID: hfs0k93Incant wait until they run out of 90's songs and have to use Scatman John.
ID: hfs1swtYou forgot "single high pitched piano note every few seconds"
ID: hfr5x6wThank you! Glad I'm not the only one!
-
This looks so bad and so cheap but will 100% still watch.
ID: hfwxijwWould have been good for a Netflix release or something. Definitely has that “tv movie” feel.
-
The trailer was so badly edited that it looks like a parody at some parts. Other than that I’m excited! Will be watching when it comes out
-
“Every story has a beginning”
Wow. Haven’t heard that before.
ID: hft3m46That was legit the worst part of the trailer.
-
Guys the international trailer is much better edited and lots of different scenes! Watch it
ID: hfqqbo2I'm mad I watched the other trailer first. This is so much better.
ID: hfs3o4qYea this captures the horror feel a little more. The other one gives more of an adventure pop spooky scary vibe.
ID: hfqv2r9Haha, why this wasnt the U.S trailer?
Also, here is the english version of it
ID: hfqzswlYo, wtf!? How come we didn't get this trailer initially? This looks so much better than that other trailer.
Its still gonna be a batshit crazy mess, but damned if I am not actually excited about it now. Lol
ID: hfqqxeiit looks way less like a straight to dvd movie in this trailer!
-
I wouldn’t say I’m amazed by the trailer, but it at least reminds me of Resident Evil games. Which the Paul WS Anderson films pretty much never did. So I’ll be cautiously optimistic
ID: hfqp5plMan, I remember being a teenager and getting so excited for the Resident Evil movie, and then I read the synopsis about some evil Red Queen AI and a woman named Alice, and was just, "Not like this. Not like this."
ID: hfqqez4woman named Alice,
at the time,i though Alice was character from Code veronica a game i dint play at the time
ID: hfqudluIf it's some "so-bad-it's-good" B-movie shlock with lots of game callbacks (which the trailer already seemed to have), I'm honestly fine with the movie. Never was gonna be great when shoving 2 games into a film, so if I can have fun watching it with a couple beers, I'm game.
ID: hfrx023I already saw "itchy tasty" in the trailer. I'm sold!
-
We need a fan edit of the trailer set to moonlight sonata without the captions. The trailer did not do the movie any favors but I am absolutely pleasantly surprised. So many callbacks to the game.
ID: hfrvomnGood shout about Moonlight Sonata! A short scene in the piano room to break up the suspense would be great! I think this game was the first time I ever heard it (either this or Earthworm Jim 2)
-
So their take on this is that the Spencer mansion and Raccoon City events took place on the same time? ok I guess.
I feel like both events are long enough for a movie on their own or to at least make the mansion events a flashback moment though.
Like, if there were 2 stories they wanted to tell at once I feel like RE2 and RE3 would've worked better
ID: hfqt70q2 and 3 would have been better to combine . I do agree each game is movie worthy
ID: hfsqpwtI'm not hating on this premise at all, I'm actually really stoked for this bastardized kinda faithful movie, but i think they just tried to stuff leon and claire in there to capitalize on the popularity of RE2R just my take though
-
i hope to live to see the day when the stupid movie trope of eyes turning black during a transformation dies and fades into oblivion.
ID: hfs7ob0I also have bone to pick with modern trailers contrasting the mood with melancolic soft pop music score at the middle of the trailer.
-
Jesus Christ, Birkin's G4 stage looks really cheap. I think the Licker is the only one that has good CGI.
-
Ashford Twins on the film reel anyone? I did pop when I caught that little Code Veronica easter egg there.
ID: hfqwk27Had to rewind to make sure I was seeing what I thought I saw
ID: hfrftapIt doesn't look like just a easter egg but instead a plot point regarding Birkin's research, possibly in this version the twins are related to the creation of the G Virus.
-
Does this look terrible? Yes
Am I going to see it opening weekend? Also yes.
ID: hfr2lmli'd say this looks like a terrible movie that might still be enjoyable..like resident evil retribution
as opposed to say Resident Evil: The Final Chapter which was just terribly terrible lol
ID: hfqo84dWe all like to suffer i guess.
-
It's got the B-Movie camp with all the necessities....we get the mansion, licker in the RPD, Birkin, the city, trucker, zombies, I'm all for it!
I'll admit I was skeptical but this looks fun!
ID: hfqp0o6It does look potentially fun, and I don't wanna be too sceptical (I'm not expecting a masterpiece), but I have to admit I'm kind of shocked at how...cheap it looks? The CGI I can give a pass to being an early trailer (though it rarely changes that much), but even beyond that a lot of the sets, the lighting, even the zombies/costuming looks kind of tacky and Halloween store-ish.
I love Resident Evil feeling like a B-movie, but it doesn't actually have to look like or be one. Still, a campy wacky B movie faithful to the games is an improvement over what we've had before.
ID: hfqpegvNot an early trailer either considering it comes out next month. Not much time to fix the fx fully unfortunately
-
Umm choices were definitely made…
ID: hfrvmqqSony woke up and chose violencecampiness.
-
I’m probably being nit picky but does anyone else not like the switch up for Claire’s reason she’s coming to Raccoon City at all? It still looks like a fun movie and better than the WS Anderson’s, but I’m not super keen on her being suspect of umbrella for years
ID: hfqye3qIt's weird, it almost seems like it's ripping a plot point from the S.D Perry novels where Chris had an Umbrella employee friend give him a call late at night to try and expose everything before shit hit the fan, but they've given it t o Claire instead.
ID: hfr1i0mI'd be down for a series based on the Perry novels lol. I always wanted a conclusion to the Trent character.
ID: hfqxgh1I agree. I don’t like it. It doesn’t feel like the Claire we all know and love from the games. I do like that we see Chris and Claire together for a minute, though. I’ll watch it because it looks hella fun with the action, and it’ll provide me with some good laughs. Other than that, I’m disappointed that the movie seems to be missing the mark again.
ID: hfqzc1rThe trailer makes it seem like the main character is Claire and it’s all focused around her, everything else is just a sub plot.
-
This looks pretty bad, but wasnt expecting anything else.
The director of this project has never made any good film, his best one was a shark movie with a 5 score on imdb.
I was confused when the song start playing on the main trailer and I'm asking myself why...??? We know the movie will be bad but you are trying hard to get our hopes on the ground.
-
Soooo…
1) Not a fan of Claire going all in against Umbrella and her going “Conspiracy Theorist” (Honestly this should have been Jill… Claire came to Racoon City to find her brother, not fight against Umbrella) 2) Lickers look good 3) Horrible choice for a trailer song (doesn’t fit at all) 4) Chris looks good 5) Nice Code Veronica easter egg 6) Dogs looks good 7) Some iconic scenes were included
Impressions : Not bad, but I think the other trailer is much much better. The choice in music is horrible (they should have picked a different track)
-
It looks even worse than I expected, and I expected it to be pretty bad. The casting, as bad as it is, doesn't even seem like the biggest problem here. Everything looks so cheap. The CGI looks pre-2000s. I never thought a RE movie would come out that makes the Paul Anderson crapfest look good by comparison.
-
It looks..... Ok but why that song though??? They couldn't get an upstarter composers to actually write a decent score for this movie??? Im not talking Hanz Zimmer levels but ffs the song was so out of place.
ID: hfrimj6Watch this version, its soooooo much better and doesnt have that shitty song playing over it. I cant believe didnt make this the US trailer

I hate the style of modern movie trailers
