Is it just me or does it look like they’ll be going RE2 first and then RE1 where they all go to the mansion??
-
The events of RE1 and RE2 happen at the same time in this adaptation. The city is falling while STARS are entering the mansion.
-
Yeah dude I’m really confused about the timelines from the trailer. I can’t tell if RE1 and RE2 are happening at the same time or if they’re gonna switch between them.
-
The time lines are the same and I think RE1 cast and RE2 cast interact a lot through out. Why else make them happen at the same time.
I guess theyll meet up after they go through mansion/RPD. Definately live those events separately. Then hopefully experience some post mansion/RPD events together.
Wouldnt be surprised if some parts feel RE3ish.

I mentioned this in a different comment, but it feels like the Redfields will be the main focus with everyone else playing a supporting role to them, which feels eh to me.
I think they're going to try to shoehorn code Veronica in there somehow. (Though it could be a setup for a sequel)
Apparently Chris and Claire do see each other, but I still think it's going to be Re1 -> Re2 but the downtime between incidents is a lot smaller.
But honestly it's hard to guess based on the trailer.
ID: hg08o9lID: hg0wr4eI think that’ll be the sequel setup. There’s that Ashford twins reel shot in the film.
-
They are happening at the same time in this adaptation it seems. Maybe Stars is sent to the mansion as the city falls to shit to get answers. It’s kinda a cool “what if” thing if you ask me.
-
Could be one of those things where they jump back and forth between stories so that the big reveals have more of an impact.
ID: hg1866fKinda what I was thinking. Consecutive storylines.
ID: hg1brlrFor sure. At this point I don’t even care if the movie is bad because it’s a huge step in the right direction.

It's looking like Claire and Chris are gonna meet up, then Chris and the STARS team will head to the mansion while Claire and Leon are gonna go explore the city.
-
This is my interpretation. Claire goes to Raccoon City after having not been there since she was a child. She and Chris grew up in the orphanage and Claire witnessed them experimenting on her friend. Probably Lisa. No one believed her and she ran away. She's labeled as a conspiracy theorist but she was really a witness. Hence the flashback to a younger Birkin in the orphanage.
At Chris's house when Claire shows Chris the tape, the emergency sirens in the city turn on, Silent Hill like, and Chris and team get called to the mansion for some sort of incident. Claire stays at his house but is greeted by the itchy tasty neighbor who ends up turning. She leaves to the RPD and comes across Leon. They find evidence of experimenting on kids in the RPD including the Ashford twins.
I'm guessing the lab is connected both through the mansion and the RPD. They all convene at the end.
People keep saying they don't understand how both can happen at the same time but I don't think it'll be difficult. It's a different retelling of the same story but I'd rather have it be a bit different anyway. Resident Evils story in 1, 2 and 3 are pretty superficial and cliche.
-
It looks like they don't even know what they're doing.
-
My guess is a raccoon city RPD hq defense mission long enough to gear up the chopper for the mansion lab hunt… set the stakes, and look for the cure in the lab
This gets them out of the city to survive the nuking.. and the mansion self destruct will let them tie up the immediate threat without finding any cure … but give Ada a secret motive for joining up to find “John” from the mansion lab
-
This is how I think it’s going to go down. Alpha team go in search of bravo team, after touching down outside the mansion the outbreak begins back in raccoon city. Claire arrives in the city and meets leon at the same sort of time the others enter the mansion. They go through the police station and mansion respectively. Both find different entrances to the same umbrella lab and from that point they will meet up, at which point we will see a final Birkin fight and Weskers betrayal. Probably end with them escaping by train as in the trailer we see brads helicopter crash.

Every single adaptation has to be different from the original game, I don't understand why these decisions are made especially when it passes fans off and convolutes the story every damn time.
ID: hg1algyBecause a movie of resident evil would struggle to have 30 minutes of runtime.
You have to cut the puzzles, most of the locked doors etc.
Then you need to do something to get it back to around 90 minutes.

I mean it does have the Ashfords so there is going to be some Code Veronica in there for sure.
