It'll be popular, but I still think it missed its window by a wide margin

Among Us is very basic and one of many similar games. I think its popularity came from being a multiplayer game you can download and play straight away, with no need to sign up for half a dozen services first.
Fall Guys' whole premise is that it's difficult to control the characters properly and they fall over all the time. That gets tedious pretty quickly.

ID: hhlwq36This game has over 1 million players online right now. Just because it isn't "the biggest thing ever" anymore doesn't mean it isn't still super successful. It's just not relevant to redditors, similar to roblox and fortnite - both of which are absolutely massive.

ID: hhk6a4tI've only played it on my phone, and barely had any good experiences before they dropped all the updates. Plagued by hackers and cheaters, wonky control responses, and now I can't even type in the in game chat, I have to pick from pre selected responses that don't lend themselves to smooth gameplay.
And it's always had dogshit match making. Starting my own lobby meant waiting 10+ minutes to play, watching people join and then leave my lobby within seconds because there were no other players. If the target audience wasn't ADHD riddled children with the attention span of a gnat, maybe we'd be able to play sooner.
I haven't touched it in probably 6 months. It was a gimmicky game that had potential, then they fucked up when they became an overnight success and couldn't figure out how to leverage that into becoming the next big thing.

ID: hhjtso1Not a lot of people have 9 other friends all interested in playing among us. This wouldn’t be such a problem if they hadn’t removed communities

ID: hhjdj4nI play it from time to time but I’ve always been a big fan of social deduction games, I still play ToS all the time for example. Among Us is a good game but it really failed to make the most of its success, there was such a drought for content for so long and by the time they released the new map, most people had moved on.

ID: hhin5isJesus, I hope this isn't a PS+ game. It's a nice game and all, but it's like $5 when not on sale and it honestly gets old very quickly if you are playing with randos instead of friends.

Now my only thing is, will this game be cross generation compatible? I have a lot of friends who are on PS4
ID: hhinj2rI would imagine so. I've played it with family across Switches, PCs, and mobile phones, and I'd be kinda surprised if Playstation wouldn't be able to do the same.
