Took some votes yesterday and it was a draw between CV and 5. I love both the survival horror and the action horror play styles so it’s only a matter of votes really. Tell me which one you prefer and I’ll check back in a few hours. Game with most votes is my next purchase
Edit:
CV: 14 votes RE 5: 11 votes
It has been decided, CV wins.

RE5 is just the more enjoyable game

I enjoy 5 much more
-
Re 5. It was really fun and has much more replayability.

5

I prefer CV but if you have a good COOP partner than you should probably go with Re5.
ID: hjgfihhI agree, CV is my favorite but all things considered, if OP has someone to play Coop with RE5 could be the game he/she has more fun with
-
RE5, it has more content and more replayability. It's really fun with Co-Op if you have someone to play with but it's also a great playthrough going solo if you know how to manage the ai partner. It's an overall fun game, but I don't recommend playing it first because it ends the entire Wesker saga.
Code Veronica because it has more of a challenge, but it's tedious with the backtracking and you can softlock you're entire playthrough and have to start over if you don't have the specific amount of items or a certain weapon to pass through certain boss battles. But I recommend to play it first because it's the beginning of the Wesker saga and is important to overall story, despite it being mistaken for a side game.
Go for Code Veronica if you care about the story and prefer a greater challenge. Go for RE5 if you want an overall enjoyable experience with lots of content and replayability.

Personally, I'd go with 5. CV is okay, but 5 is more enjoyable and easier to play with better controls. If I were only choosing one, it'd definitely be 5.

Both
ID: hjgpco3Can’t get both, pick one, most votes wins
ID: hjgs3ubWhy not? Funds?
-
RE5, I love CV when I played it years ago, but I just tried to go back to it and can’t get into the old graphics and game mechanics. I would wait if they ever decide to do a remake

5

Both
ID: hjgl0ljCan’t buy both, pick one
ID: hjgttnhShame. CV is great for the old school feel. But 5 is WAY more value for money. Mercenaries alone is like a game in itself.
-
BOTH. Always with RE. Get them all.
ID: hjgyt8pWish I could but I’m trying not go over $70, I already got Sekiro, next pick is an RE game. Could you pick one between the two?
ID: hjh1hur$70?? where are you buying the games? that’s nuts
ID: hjh7r03I’d say Code Veronica then because it’s so different, felt so next gen at the time. It was like Capcom went on its own journey. Not to say it doesn’t have tank controls and the usual RE problems, but still amazing. And really good music etc etc.
-
Code Veronica... RE5 is overhyped due to the overall thirst for coop which kills the RE feel. Of course you should experience both sooner or later though.
-
if you want a more faithful RE experience, go Code Veronica
if you want to shoot to anything that moves, go RE5
-
CV just for Steve
-
If you have someone to play Co-op, then RE5
Otherwise CV
-
Code veronica for sure man!!! Re5 was OK... But if you want to know resident evil go get that CV right now. For me the best resident evil to date
-
CV
-
RE5 is dope! Da fuck is CV
ID: hjh4aowCode Veronica

RE5 is decent fun for a single coop run, if you have a friend who wants to join you. On the whole though, I find CV to be waaaay more enjoyable. CV has the creepy atmosphere, exploration, puzzles, etc, that I associate with the best RE games.
-
I vote for Code Veronica.
-
I personally prefer CV because of nostalgia, but if I had to pick one to recommend to someone else I would go with 5
-
Re5 is way more fun in my opinion
-
I prefer Code Veronica, RE5 is great but I have nostalgia for CV, it is up there with 2,3, and 2 remake for me.
-
CV is the best
-
5 is pretty decent tbh
-
I have played these games since the original, and I vote, without hesitancy, for CV. It’s a much more interesting game that is more true to the originals.

Agreed. I recently played CV and it’s not as good as people make it out to be. I’d much rather replay RE5 than replay CV if that tells OP anything.
