- I'm pretty pumped about this. I got my 5800x multicore to match first gen Threadripper
-
right but is it stable? and is it slower than stock in single thread?

Here is what I have been running for the past 8 months. Did a lot of stability testing, and I have not had any issues or BSOD's since using curve optimizer to find the best offsets. I feel it has a good compromised of single and multi performance. Although I really wanted to try and get over 16K for multi and 1600 single and be 100% stable.
Cinebench 5800X

Nice job.

My 3950x murders the first gen threadripper. got it for 450$.
ID: hjjocwrDouble my core count too
-
This is exactly what my 5800x can do, max all core - 4775 @ 1.35v
But it can't OC for shit, can't even add 25mhz in PBO.
ID: hjliis8Pbo gets me better performance in day to day. But I'm glad that I could do this

12600k does the same at 300 bucks.
ID: hjjap2pDo you have one?
Not to mention cost of motherboard, ddr5, and a new cooler. So yes, CPU too CPU Intel is cheaper in this case, but effective cost of the platform is much higher.
ID: hjjaubndoes he need to have it to say it?
ID: hjkr813with mobo, the cheapest ddr4(most reviews so far have shown that for gaming ddr4 and 5 are very close) you can get for 12600 is around 200 although, it is important to note that whether that's a good mobo or not(in terms of power delivery, memory topography, etc), we'll have to wait on reviews which specifically include budget z690 mobos.
5800x on MSRP retail 450(300 now in microcenter), plus a good b550 mobo is around 150(like msi A-Pro).
I feel like both CPUs are very close in terms of performance for their price(assuming with the and price cut). if I ended up upgrading today and if I was aware how AMD treats AGESA/Bios updates like they're driver updates, honestly intel is looking mighty tempting.

Why don't people use CTR?!
ID: hjka1g8Because they don't read the instructions and blame it on the program when it doesn't work right. My 3800x scores 13100 Mt and 1390 st with CTR
ID: hjkzh6kI'm clocking 4k MT on CBR20, that's pretty good for a 3600, especially at 1250mV, got a plat sample. Never pops above 94W. I am seriously amazed at how so many people make YouTube videos without the most basic knowledge on what they are doing. Goes to prove 99% HW review sites are marketing extensions of companies with a friendly face and for sale to the highest bidder.
ID: hjjg7fkPbo is better for me day to day due to higher single core clocks. This was just for fun to see if I could get to a threadripper level

A fair bit slower in single core vs just doing pbo. Pbo gets me 4.85ghz on single core and I can't push beyond this for all core.
I just wanted to see if I could get to that threadripper score for multi
