Isn’t this a very common opinion?

Does anyone doubt this? Both games are good with their own unique themes.
ID: hjt9tsyYes, nostalgia blind people, but every community has them, so ignoring them is the best thing.
ID: hjthl8sEven as a nostalgia-blinded person I've had fun with the recent RE games. Ethan is a fun dude and any excuse to call Chris a dickhead is a good excuse in my book.

re7 was a great survival horror
re8 was a great action horror
ID: hjtew0lLike James Cameron’s Aliens following up Ridley Scott’s Alien. Both very good movies in the same universe, but Aliens is definitely action with horror sprinkled in.
Although House Beneviento is the most scared I’ve been by an RE game since I was a kid on PS1
ID: hjtp6klHouse Beneviento felt like a damn Silent Hill game
ID: hjtokvjExactly how I see it.
ID: hjub7xiI managed to almost crap myself a few times in Re8 whenever a Lycan popped out of nowhere.
ID: hjtkvjvThis fucking baby
ID: hjszord*The first half of RE7 was a great survival horror.
It starts going steeply down hill once you leave the greenhouse IMHO. Which is a shame because the first half is amazing.
ID: hjt1akqYeah, I felt like "okay, the scary old guys are gone and I have a million guns now, I have ammo, I'm going to whoop some fucking ass"
similar thing in RE2. Really every survival horror I played, for me being weak and having low ammo is what scares me. Then I get strong and I'm not scared anymore
ID: hjt0xvzIt did seem to have a hard transition from survival horror to action horror. Still thoroughly enjoyed 7, though I haven't finished 8 yet
ID: hjt4aa7I'd honestly say 3/4ths. The boat really hurts the replayability
ID: hjt6uh7I kind of agree. When I got to the boat area I felt the game took a dip. Not too much though.
ID: hjtyrexI don't know man, the ship section at the end was crazy good to me.
ID: hjut0ieBoth games build the spooks great in the first acts. Then it just slowly spirals into action. The last part of RE8 is exactly the same as RE7. Just run around with a rifle shooting everything in your way.

Waaaht?! Who says they ain't. Those sycophants
ID: hjt6ereSuper super small amount of re fans. Op is just fishing for upvotes the same way people in the twitter re community fish for likes.

How are these reddit lisa simpson/office whiteboard posts still a thing? They’re not even memes just text posts with more steps

Aside from umbrella corps and survivor, I love every single RE game, even Re Dead Aim. Bully me
ID: hjt3dsaI'm in the same boat. I actually enjoyed Umbrella Corps too. Now I won't say that it's a fantastic 10/10, like other installations, but if I have fun I really don't care what others or reviews say
ID: hju5sasUmbrella Chronicles was also pretty good and was severely underrated. Darkside Chronicles kinda sucked in comparison but they're both decent games. Better than the Outbreak games IMO and those have a hard cult following
-
My favorites so far.
-
In no way is that a controversial read whatsoever
-
Obvious Karma begging is obvious

I like both. RE7 is one of my favorite in the series. Really made strides to bring the series back to its roots. 8 felt like a mashup of RE7 and RE4 and while I understand why they would take that route I am a bit disappointed that it’s falling back to action so quickly after the amazing games that RE7 and RE2R were
-
Yeah ? So ?
-
Fuck this karma whoring shitpost
-
Yes, both of these games have been among my favorite gaming experiences in the last couple of years.
RE8 bought back a lot of elements that people complained were missing in RE7 (more puzzles, bigger map, interesting setting, more characters, the merchant) etc.
RE7 got me excited to play resident evil games again, and RE8 was very well executed for the most part. Both original and both good titles.
-
RE7 was very good. It was horrifying at times and had a good story. Resident Evil 8 has some very high highs, but also some very low lows.
-
Wait, do people hate on them or something? I actually really enjoyed both of them.
-
Iv been doing a 100% all achievements playthrough of the series and am currently finishing up 4 atm. Already did 1 remake, 2 remake, 3 remake, 0, code veronica, umbrella chronicles, and darkside chronicles.
Only have revelations 1, 5, revalations 2, 6, 7, and then I can finally play 8. I started back in late july lol. I'm so close lol
-
Is… is this something people debate? They are both awesome!
ID: hjw1t82No. I have no idea why reddit upvotebots chose to hit this post.
-
I liked RE8, but it ended in a way that does make me worried about the future of the franchise again, in a way RE7 didn't :/
ID: hjtmgszYeah that huge time jump for Rose growing up is a wee bit scary. But hey maybe we'll all be surprised. Only issue is that chris will be like 65 now
