We have started the installation of patch 0.12.11.7. In this patch we have upgraded the game engine from Unity 2018 to Unity 2019.
Upgrading the game engine to a newer version is a complex technical process that may affect all game systems and mechanics, as well as graphics and service modules.
The size of the patch is 7 GB. The reason for this is that during the transition to the new engine version, we have optimized the structure of storing the game data.
This patch doesn’t contain new mechanics, content, or visual changes. However, the transition to a newer version of Unity will allow us to use new graphics, gameplay, and network technologies in the future and will also facilitate further optimization of the game client and speed up the development of Escape from Tarkov. @news

The patch installation is complete.
We would like to remind that in this patch we have migrated to Unity 2019 and it does not contain any new game mechanics, content, graphics changes or optimization. All of this, including DLSS, is planned to be released in upcoming patches. @news

not sure if its just me but the hideout is pretty much pitch black with all types of lights
ID: hk270diID: hk2g8udBullish on NVG
ID: hk29ejqYou're out of fuel mate. 😀
ID: hk2rnqehaha, good one
ID: hk2qm5tOh? I see bsg is taking the “interchange on a clear sunny day” approach to lighting ie pitch fucking black.

Bug found, we replicated it in multiple Interchange raids: No matter where you are in Interchange (**at least in the mall, we haven't confirmed outside of the mall yet) whenever someone uses the Emercom medical key, you can hear it. I was in Techlight and my teammate was checking lockers in Goshan and we both heard someone use a key, almost as if we had used it ourselves. Once we finally made it over to Emercom medical we found it had already been opened, so we assumed that's the key we heard someone use. The next raid, I was over in Rasmussen and my teammate opened Emercom medical and sure enough, I could hear the sound clip of the key as if I was right there.
Edit: looks like this is happening across all maps, not just interchange. Also, folks can hear it no matter where they are at it seems.
ID: hk2mu66Not just interchange, random key noises on customs too
ID: hk3v6jsIt's not just keys either, a lot of sounds are fucked somehow, my guess would be broken sound occlusion through walls.
You know that hanging light fixture sound (clanking and fizzling) in 2 story Dorms? Well I heard it from much further away today while passing behind Dorms, and it sounded like I was basically inside right on top of that sound.
ID: hk4cpydActually that was me I'm the dorms janitor

Fuck ok this explains the random noise I heard on shoreline that had me in a bush for 15min
ID: hk2nrncGood to know, it sounds like this is an issue across all maps at this point
ID: hk4u7ttHaha oh BSG, back to their old ways. Back in the day you could hear everyone rack their guns at the start of a raid.

Getting in to raids instantly with no one
ID: hk279rpMaybe it's because it was directly after the patch & not many people were on but I also got into raids really fast. One was pretty quiet but all had pmcs
ID: hk29fp8Sounds amazing lol

Random grenade pin being released on three raids (all Shoreline) so far. Scares the shit out of you because it sounds like they are right beside you. But its a sound glitch and no one is there.
ID: hk2wjatJust curious, is it the sound of a grenade pin, or could it be the sound of someone using a key? Do you hear the explosion of a nade after? If not, my guess is it's likely a key being used elsewhere on the map. I've made a few comments on this thread regarding this. Either way hearing sounds you shouldn't be hearing usually stops me in my tracks every time lol, hopefully this will get patched soon.
ID: hk2cbu9I got this on Shoreline too, scared the bejeeziz outta me

The hideout is darker than before in some areas when using gas lamps (Intelligence shelves for example or the lavatory sink with the huge toothpaste tube), might be intended?
ID: hk2d9arIt shouldn't be intended cause they said this patch is just Unity migration. Newer unity has more options for better lighting, so maybe this somehow affected the lighting in the hideout. If so, then I would expect lighting to be affected in other places too.

One thing that bugs me now is that when I open messenger tab it defaults to my oldest chat (in my case Fence) so every time something sells on the flea I have to click twice instead of once: first click on messenger, then go to ragman chat. Before it would default to the last chat I had open
ID: hk23q0kGot this too.

I'm getting random key noises... potentially someone unlocking a door can be heard by all players on the map, irrespective of location? For instance, I just heard it while running between the Knight buildings on Reserve, after spawning in the train station - more than likely someone was opening the black pawn marked room at that time.
ID: hk2vz66While it seems random, you are actually hearing someone else use a key somewhere on the map. we could hear whenever anyone used the Emercom key on Interchange (sounds like its a problem with all keys tho).
, it may be an old bug that resurfaced, but I don't remember this being an issue prior to this patchID: hk2w2g5Yeah man i have had this a few times today in woods at shoreline i thought i was tripping scared the shit out me

Ran a couple of raids with no issue, but while waiting for my PMC to rehydrate did a scav run, audio is no staticky/doubling. Could hear my footsteps repeating twice (99% sure they were mine), static in the scav voicelines and they cut off near the end of the voiceline. Audio bug still there after the raid in hideout, gone after restarting
ID: hk37u3aMate and I also had this audio bug, thought my headphones/mixer had a problem but it was EFT. Static, double footsteps, glitchy sound in general.
ID: hk3vxo4Just had it happen to me lol
-
I can still hear tactical devices clicking, ie: a scope’s zoom variable, from a half mile away. Jesus please make it stop
-
Not a bug but the game is way smoother for me now. So wait actually maybe a bug???

Has anyone noticed any sort of screen tearing since this patch? I didn't use to have any but now with the same settings (and the shader cache cleared), I'm getting big tears quite often. I have a shitty i5-9600f with rtx2060, but I cannot run it without locking the frame rate to 60 (which doesn't matter as I only have a 60Hz capability), as this was a black market type of pre-made computer. The one that sounds cool but then you realize cooling is an issue among other things. 😀
ID: hk2huwuLots of screen tearing. i9-9900k and RTX2070 w/ 144htz monitor. Game running at 90-100 fps on a foggy Woods raid, tons of screen tear.

Does anyone else have "1 point to spend" on their skills screen? its only appeared this update for me
ID: hk253n7Maybe a future plan to obtain a spendable Skill token for every level up
ID: hk36wf6I hope so. Would love that

I'm predicting a lot of strange bugs with this transition. Even with no new content, there's going to be some compatibility hiccups between 18 and 19.
-
Bug still eixsts that scav timer starts from the beginning when you first log in after an update. Unless that's not longer a bug and now it's a "feature."
I will say though, images of icons load near instantly now. Used to be where loading icons took a few seconds after a cache clear. Now it's less than a second easily.
ID: hk46jh6Can confirm, I wondered why Scav is on cooldown since it was the first time I've seen it.
Also, it felt like the cooldown was longer than it was supposed to be - about 7 or 8 minutes when I saw it. I think it's supposed to be 4 minutes with full intelligence centre and scav karma, so I guess one of the two didn't properly apply its cooldown reduction to the scav.
-
As a friendly reminder if you're experiencing frame issues don't forget to clear your shader cache. YMMV though so don't expect it to me a magical cure-all.

Everything on interchange is floating lmao

I had a massive performance boost in my first Factory scav run after this update. Normally I average 160 fps on Factory (with drops to 120), but the first game after the update averaged 220 fps (with drops to 170).
For the first time ever, I was seeing my RTX 2080 getting maxed out at nearly 100% usage. Even though Battlestate said there aren't any optimizations in this patch, I thought maybe the newer Unity had built-in multicore CPU optimizations that were using more of my cores so the CPU was not bottlenecking my GPU anymore.
But my 2nd raid (Reserve) was back to normal performance and all raids onwards have reverted to normal performance, even Factory raids. I specifically made sure I was definitely NOT testing the first one in Offline mode, it was definitely a scav run.
The only reasonable explanation I can find is that the first raid / server was unusually empty. Not enough players or scavs, so not much for my CPU to process and therefore I got higher FPS.
Has anyone else observed anything similar?

Stuck on perpetual loading screen since patch.....
-
Unity 2019 have different lighting it looks like ? Or it's just me... hmm
-
Random key noises on lab (both mechanical key and keycard noise)
Random key noise on reserve (we spawned on top of the ags bunker near barracks and heard it like 10 seconds in)

Is anyone having issues updating through launcher? I press update and it starts for a split second before reverting to showing me the update button again.
EDIT: Looks like it’s of fixed now. Restarted the launcher a few times and it’s updating now.
-
My download is like 15kbs and I already did the Powershell Windows commands, paused and unpaused, restarted the whole thing, etc. Its fine for first 1.5 gb but after that it slows down. Unfortunate
-
opening BSG launcher gives me a pc error code.

I get a shitty cracking noise and double footsteps when I run gets worse depending on what ingame headset I use. When you get shot it the noise is juts unholy. Anyone else.
ID: hk4nlafAlso happens to my mate. And pretty much every bug from dead raids to key noises, I'm going to test unimstalling and maybe fixes it ill keep u guys n gals updated

Same, first thing I noticed. Hideout is just darker.
