- PS5 features better shadows, ambient occlusion, and improved clouds in quality mode. However, reflections get worse in this mode, lagging behind the PS4 versions. It is probably due to a bug.
- PS4 and PS4 Pro lack clouds. PS4 and PS4 Pro performance mode eliminate some highlights.
- Same draw distance on the 3 platforms. It appears to use a similar configuration to the original game, which causes a horrible pop-in. One of the worst I've ever seen.
- Same texturing on all 3 platforms. Some textures are not well applied, causing graphic bugs.
- The game reuses the same animations, physics and AI from the original game.
- Loading times are 3 times faster on PS5.
- The framerate is too unstable. Constant stuttering on PS4 and PS4 Pro Quality. PS4 Pro's Performance mode fails to hit 60FPS with drops of up to 30FPS.
- PS5 also struggles in Performance mode, dropping up to 35fps at night. This is likely due to poor optimization of dynamic lighting.
- The lighting and the improvement of some models is the only thing that stands out in this remastering.
- Unfortunately this is far from being a good job. The performance problems are unjustifiable for a game with such a low-key technical section. They must put more effort into optimizing the Unreal Engine.

Never underestimate how unoptimized UE4 games can be made by shitty devs, Blair Witch is another example, it looks like a PS3 game and runs worse than Control with RT on my 3080

Rockstar used to be my favorite developer but they've ruined their reputation. Even after all the hate this remaster is getting, I don't see them changing any of their practices. Quickly becoming the next EA, Activision or Ubisoft.

This game was a mobile game disguised as a console game lmao. There is no reason the PS5 or SX cant run this game Native 4K60 with Ray Tracing. I mean its a ps2 game ported to Unreal lmao. This isnt a full remake!

Yikes man. Not a good look to have issues with frame rate while running a PS2 game on PS5. Hell, the PS4 should be more than capable of a rock steady frame rate considering what other developers have been able to accomplish on that hardware.

Impulse purchased it at 100 aud and (not to my surprise unfortunately) i am extremely disappointed and stopped after 5 mins. The entire thing is so fucking janky, and the audio is terrible and missing so many audio tracks. Like the motorcycles in vice city sound like they're stuck in one gear.
Absolutely abysmal and bare minimum effort. Fuck R*, they're as bad as EA and even worse than Ubisoft.

Yeah the frame rates on PS5, is probably the biggest reason I didn’t buy today. I know there are other gripes about it. But if I can’t get a locked 60fps in performance. Then I’m not even going to buy it right now. Heard there was a 10gb patch this morning. But I’m guessing that didn’t fix it?
I know there was an article on this collection before it came out. A lot of nervousness around the fact Grove Street Games was doing it. Seems they weren’t wrong to be a bit worried. I’m sure lots of fun can still be had! But the frame drop on PS5 is just really unacceptable! Especially at this price tag, and all the issues I’m seeing. Guess I’ll see if they patch or just abandon the game if it sells a lot.

I can't believe how Rockstar botched the console release for this. Not sure how the games run on PC, but having performance issues for a game that came out 20 years ago with fairly minor graphical upgrades on next gen consoles is inexcusable. Rockstar has literally unlimited funds, there is absolutely no excuse here. Really glad I didn't pre order it. Hopefully they release some patches that fix these performance issues.
