I have noticed alot of people say every FF fans fav FF is their first one. Obviously, that cannot be true.
So let's put it to the test, what is your first FF and your favorite FF and see if they line up.
Mine doesn't for sure, with FF1 on NES being my first and my favorite being FF7/7R.

My first was FF1 which I love, but my favorite depending on my mood is 6, or 9. Or possibly 7.
It’s usually 6 though.

Yeah not even close for me. I played IV, VI, AND VII before VIII, but VIII is my fave by a mile.
ID: hkmyyxbI finally beat FFVIII last year after starting and stopping it for the last 20yrs. Was tired of it being the only main FF I hadn’t finished and ended up loving it. So good.

ID: hknagz8I agree completely. Never understood the hate on blitzball. Killer intro to FFX and recruiting players and leveling up your team was a ton of fun.

Either FFVII, VIII or IX was my first,... can't remember, got them around the same time. But FFX is my favorite.

My first was FF4. It's my second favorite.
My current favorite? Final Fantasy XIV. I played it originally by skipping everything trying to play it like an MMO. Replayed from the beginning around this time last year during a heavy depression and I haven't cried nearly as much playing any other title in the series than I have XIV.

ID: hkmypyiIs it really that good? I’m still in the middle of ARR and people keep telling me how great the story is but so far it’s felt pretty standard haha. No complaints though, I really enjoy it!

Final Fantasy was my first. Got it for my dad on the NES never got very far in it, lost interest quickly. RPGs wouldn't really hook me until I played Super Mario RPG several years later. It quickly became an obsession, and a beloved genre.
Shortly after I played Final Fantasy VII. There was a time when I would have said it was my favorite, and it's still definitely up there. But now it's probably Final Fantasy IX. Though I love them both for two entirely different reasons, I honestly can't choose between them.

7 was my first, but 8 is my favorite. 7 and 9 trade places between 2nd and 3rd for me. 12 and 15 round put my top 5 usually.

Mystic quest was my first so...yeah. Being my first I do have some nostalgic love for it but it is nowhere near the top. Favorite is a tie between XV and VI.

ID: hkmj8mnA risky statement around these parts. I really liked XIII as well, and put it up in my personal top final fantasy games.
However I didn't like XIII-2 as much, hated the ending, and didn't like Lightning Returns even a little bit.
My headcanon is that XIII was the end of Lightnings story, and from that point everyone (>! except Fang and Vanille !<) lived happily ever after.

FF is definitely not my favourite... That spot once was occupied by IV, but I think with the in changes to XII in TZA, it would be my new favourite.

FFVII was my first FF but after playing most of them XIV is my Favorite overall with IX being my favorite RPG.
VII is still a close 2nd though.
