I'm very disappointed every week.... Drop after drop and I get no GPU.
Is it even possible to buy a GPU at the AMD Shop as normal homo sapiens?
-
The amount of people who want them far exceed the amount of cards available, the chances are insanely slim
ID: hl8oi77ID: hl8orj4Even if every card was reference there would still be more demand than supply
But yeah what you've said is true Nvidia and AMD keep making the reference to keep the illusion that MSRP exists, and make AIBs look like the and guys, ideal situation for them
-
Unfortunately, as long as MSRP is where it is and Ethereum mining is as profitable as it is, I think we're stuck. Basically infinite demand from miners to compete against.
ID: hl653v2There are ASIC miners in the works, but the supply chain issues also hindered wide utilization. Price to mining ratio, a miner is at least 2x faster then the same amount of GPUs. Mid term this made bitcoin miners leave the gpu market in the past.
Issue is, that if ETH goes PoS end of next year, it would not make sense to invest. So even if supply chain gets better next year, the miners would wait until they order single use systems that are "obsolete" before their bring in their costs. All the other coins besides ETH doesn't guarantee enough traffic on their networks. Everybody would try to get a piece of the action on some lesser coin, which would drop the amount of money each miner can make to probably less then 1/4 what ETH brings now.
tl;dr: Asics will not help and we will stay on this at least until ETH goes PoS. Or TSMC surprises us all with three new fabs secretly build in hollowed out vulcano islands.
ID: hl77js5ETH difficulty will eventually outpace the price likely before proof of stake is live.

No
ID: hl6iq39I agree--it is not possible.

I've never seen less than "more than an hour" queue time...... So not sure how the queue is supposed to be random, yet I'm always at the end of the line.
The queue bypass is supposedly fixed. But I guess the containers and 200 tabs is always winning.
ID: hl6aca1It's randomized every time. Last week i got 13 minutes (never seen this before), which were more like 25 real-world minutes because the countdown and progress bar would just stall every once in awhile. In reality everything was sold out within 6-7 minutes after the queue started, so after my 13 minutes finished, it said "ok, its your turn in line now", it redirected me to the shop and everything in it was "out of stock" like it is any other day of the week. This week i was back to "more than an hour" again...

Yes if you are very lucky.
ID: hl5zjv6Yep, you have to be beyond fortunate in your timing when you hit the store.
-
16 weeks and nothing, bots bots bots everywhere and who cares? Youre not alone, we sapiens are insignificant
ID: hl6gxbjAnd it didn't used to be that way. Once upon a time, the AMD store didn't have the queue. With a little bit of effort, you could get stuff. I got a 6800. It was awesome. Then EVGA finally let me buy a 3070ti so I got that instead.
TL:DR: The AMD store used to be ok. Not anymore.
ID: hl63x37Asking for a friend. How does one get their own bots to secure a GPU??
ID: hl65vxmi would like to know at this point..
ID: hl68xy2They use a browser extension that opens 50-100 tabs that all get their own place in the line
-
Sure it's possible... being struck by lightning is possible too
ID: hl8eyj3Glad that I get gpu insted being struck with lightning 😀 It took some time, but some unexpeted second restock at 10 pm CEST was lucky for me.
-
I got a 6700XT about 2 months ago now. YMMV
-
I think it's impossible.
It's a sad situation.
It would require the chip shortage to magically resolve itself, which it won't. It would require that scalpers weren't making money, which they are. It would require that AMD and NVIDIA don't enjoy the fact, that all their products sell out the moment they are available. While the supply constraint is 'bad', everything is in the black. There is no crumb left on the table from their perspective, even if they could possibly be making more money if supply constraints didn't exist...but then you get left-over cards, etc. In a way, AMD and NVIDIA might actually like this from a certain perspective. EVERYTHING will sell, IMMEDIATELY.
I don't really see them caring very much about their product immediately selling out as fast as they can produce it. They don't care who is purchasing it, or how, or what they are doing with it.
Ironically, what is probably going to happen, is AMD and NVIDIA are going to raise MSRP for their next gen of cards. You think they are sitting by, and watching resellers make bank off their product?!
Card prices are probably going to increase by 50%, because scalpers proved that 200% is viable.
So cards are going to get more expensive, as AMD and NVIDIA go for scalpers pockets.
So yes, it's actually going to get worse. There is no reason for AMD or NVIDIA to stop increasing the price, when someone is reselling their stuff for profit. AMD/NVIDIA will continue inflating GPU prices, until scalpers balk, and it's no longer affordable.
It might be several gens of this, as fab seems really infrastructurally behind demand.
The scalpers will find it unprofitable, once AMD/NVIDIA hit scalper prices as MSRP. That's simply the truth.

The entire Radeon 6x00 series is so rare the only one itemized on the latest Steam hardware survey is the 6700 XT at all of 0.18%. All the other models are so few they just fall in the "other" category. And Steam just counts the processor itself not the brand of the card.
-
according to Frank Azor its a piece of cake to shop at amd, he even bet 10$ that it was loads of cards to buy.
oh btw he is to be some PR guy for amd and he pissed of a lot of amd customers.
never forget
-
the "out of stock" needs to be company' store motto
-
I don't understand why people post stuff like this. It's the only place to get a Radeon gpu at MSRP...of course it's going to get flooded and sold out in 5 seconds. Every Thursday like clockwork these posts appear. We know already, please stop it with the duplicate threads about this.
ID: hl9p0fiEvery Thursday like clockwork people try to buy any new amd gpu and fail. The threads will surely stop if cards are widely available at msrp. Until then you can expect a new one weekly. I don’t usually read them just see them in my feed and mentally acknowledge another week has passed and things haven’t gotten better. It’s a lot easier to ignore than battlestation posts and more useful imo. Let people vent their frustration about an ongoing terrible situation.
-
Yes. I've got 2 from there.
-
There are multiple AIB version of 6900XT available on Amazon for purchase. While they are higher than the MSRP set by AMD, at least you only being scalped by AIB. Few days ago I was able to find multiple Red Devil 6900xt for $1499, and the listing were up for many days before they were sold out.
Proof of availability :
If you are looking for anything lower than a 6900XT, then it become pretty impossible.
-
homo sapiens?
Use robo vulgaris.
-
first time (last week) i got 30 minutes. it paused mid way.
-
Of course. I've gotten a 6700 XT, 6800 XT, 6900 XT. Use containers. I got a 6700 XT around April before the queue was ever a thing and couldn't really get anything else for a while, but I also didn't really try every drop. When the queue rolled around, I used containers and first try I got a 6800 XT and the next week I landed a 6900 XT. Edit: commence the downvotes from salty, jealous children! Feels good to sit back and relax with a 6800 XT that I virtually bought for $400 (after the money I made from reselling my 6700 XT and 6900 XT) 🙂
ID: hl662r4what are containers?
ID: hl67ws6Download firefox
get firefox multi account containers
create a ton of new containers. you can only have 1 tab per container, but you can have as many containers as you want, as long as you can create them all and do the captchas before the queue starts. this lets you have tons of tabs, each tab has a unique ID. I only did this twice, first time I got a 6800 xt and second time I got a 6900 XT, both times I had about 50-70 containers open (meaning about 50-70 tabs).ID: hl6646yWhat do you mean use containers?

I’ve never even seen them in stock on the canadian site and I check daily.
ID: hl6cevdDon't check daily. Check every minute. No, seriously there are drop times. At my location it is GMT+1 3 PM or 4 PM on Thursdays.
ID: hl6egdeHow did you figure out the drop time for your location?
-
This summer it wasn't that hard, I tried two times and both times I was able to buy one. But I've been trying to buy one for my friend for the past two months and never got lucky, it worked once but the site was glitching and I couldn't complete the payment and lost my place
ID: hl6xbstIf ur trying to buy the same card again, you cant
-
No, and it's neglected on purpose.
-
I grabbed a 6900 xt, took forever though. From what I've heard the midnight black isn't even worth trying for, 6800 and 6800 xt are pretty hard too, while 6700 and 6900 are the easier ones.
-
Yes, took 4 weeks of trying tho.
ID: hl6tmy4That's hella good
-
Kind stranger, thank you for my first award!
-
Got a 6900xt about 6 or so months ago. Just happened to work. Really dumb luck.
-
I got one in July, buy that was before the queue.
-
Can't get them is because of scalpers. Check eBay.
-
Yes, its possible but its like a lotterie... I manage to get a 6800 xt at msrp 4 weeks ago. Trought the official way.
-
Go to MicroCenter if you can. They have MSRP prices on everything.
-
I actually think it's going to be years before you can get a good GPU at MSRP and have good availability. I think most people are going to be stuck with their current gpus for at least the next two to three years because they simply can't get their hands on a new one.
-
No. I had 5 windows open, all >one hour when the queue opened
-
I just need a 6700 XT and I'm done for GPU upgrades 🙁
-
Carting script guys. Trust me. You don't need a bot. Anyone can install it through tamper monkey. Use a VPN. It will simply auto click the que and cart button giving you a better chance.
I've heard of IP bans from it... but thats worth it if the alternative is no chance anyway
-
I got a 6900 XT on Amazon
-
doesn't seem like it lol. terrible system they got. makes them look like assholes
-
Yeah snagged a 6700 XT this morning after 4 weeks of trying. I've heard the 6800 XT is never in stock anymore though
-
Me and a friend of mine took one each yesterday, after around 16 minutes of queue, so yeah, it's possible, just unlikely. Good luck!
-
By the steam statistics, no
-
nope
-
Three of us in our office have been trying every Thursday for 6 or so weeks, we finally got one yesterday. There were only 6900 xt left at the time.
-
If you don’t use a buying bot, you won’t get any. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
-
Yes it is, but it's based purely on luck, took me 1 month before being able to purchase a radeon 6700XT, eventually i was in queue for "ready in 1 minute", and then after some trials and tribolations (many browser error), eventually the payment went through..
-
Thanks to people pushing for MSRP nothing is available. Welcome to free market.

What about the IP?
-
ebay has tons of them
引用元:https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/qwvyss/is_it_even_possible_to_get_an_gpu_at_the_amd_shop/
AMD doesnt want to make lots of reference cards. These are only made to say their cards are at msrp.
They profit more from selling the chips to AIB partners with a markup. It’s why AIB cant ever sell those for AMD’s msrp
