The Best Buy deals seem really good. Mass effect is only $28 is worth getting it? I have never played it or do not know what to expect. For those that have what did you think about it?
-
Worth It! No doubt.
-
I bought the game full price and it was one of the best experiences I've had in gaming. If it is on sale even better, go for it!
-
It's 100+hours sci-fi RPG game with shooting, powers and decisions making. Superb story and soundtrack. Gameplay of the first game is clunky for most people.
ID: hl9n1ceID: hl9rfyfI don't think that you should but that's up to you. First game sets up lore. There are lots of amazing moments. It has great storytelling and soundtrack.
ID: hl9sf9wI’d power through the first. It sets up everything for the second. The second has a complete overhaul of the combat and its way better than the first.
ID: hlab5lrYes. I watched the story sum up on youtube and then played 2nd one. The way it sets up the story the seques is great and the story is fantastic. But it's just terrible to play.
ID: hl9sgnySecond games mechanics are a lot better, arguably has the best story in the game , the first games not too long if u cam rush through that for the story the second game is where it really becomes good
ID: hl9nuoeRight there with you. The story and RPG elements are interesting enough, but the combat mechanics are terrible and not very fun.
ID: hl9t3woOh man the first one is my personal favorite but most people will tell you 2+3 are better. The game reminds me of one of my favorite games, Star Wars KOTOR which is really similar to ME1
ID: hl9trv9I'll echo the others who say power through the first game. It's clunky, but it sets up the story for the next two in important ways.
Once you get to ME2, things get much better, but you need that story background.
ID: hl9ymq3No, definitely get through the first game because the story is arguably the best in the trilogy and the gameplay isn’t THAT bad.
-
I've never played Mass Effect and bought the trilogy earlier this year. The games are fucking amazing, I can't recommend them enough if you like storytelling and roleplaying.
ID: hl9l9keI’m currently playing through ME1 for the first time and the roleplaying is amazing.
I’m mostly paragon but some of the Renegade responses are hilarious.
ID: hlajvaaRenegade responses are hilarious
Renegade for life gang
Always punch faces when the option presents itself
-
3 complete games for less than $30 you’re in for a great ride. It’s well worth that price.
ID: hl8zklyI usually get 40+ hours out of each game, doing all the side quests
-
The trilogy has been the most fun games I've played this year. I platted all 3.
I would watch some gameplay videos first. To get an idea if you will like them.
-
Dude, Mass Effect trilogy deserves to be bought at full price. I replayed that game countless times. Is freaking awesome.
-
Worth it every dollar
-
So far the best games i played on ps5.
-
One of the best world building RPG’s out there.
-
Awesome plot and story. The first one didnt age well but other two are awesome.
ID: hl8t9piI disagree. The first one feels great after the quality of life updates
ID: hl9lkg3Yeah I’ve never played OG ME1 but had absolutely zero problems playing through it for the first time in the legendary edition. Graphics have been hugely updated and the game doesn’t play super differently from the other 2. What a great trilogy
-
Worth the buy! I love those three games so much! They build up such a great story with real consequences that carry over to the following game and it’s epic! M1: Has a great story and awesome set up and world building, with ok gunplay. M2: Masterful, great gameplay M3: Is great cause you get to see all the build up finally explode and awesome story threads end. I enjoyed the ending a lot (I know some didn’t) and I sometimes wish I could erase my memory and experience the trilogy for the first time!
-
Yes. The first game can be a bit of a slog with the driving around in the Mako stuff, but the story is great. Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games ever made. And despite some people's criticism about parts of ME3, it's still a great game.
-
MELE is worth $60 at full price times three.
You are getting 3 games and all DLC for $28.
If you like sci-fi, it's the best trilogy hands down.
-
Trying to grab Mass Effect collection at Walmart for coworker's who mother in law died from COVID and he hasn't been the same since, he needs a little joy in his life
-
SO FUCKING WORTH.
I've played a lot of games but mass effect has the best character development hands down.
-
These games are still really good after all these years, and with the DLC they are loaded with quality content. IMO ME1 is the roughest to play because it still felt clunky to me, and the games in general definitely feel less smooth than more modern games, but they are easily some of the best RPG's I've ever played.
-
Loved it. Give it a try
-
I’m 2 hours into the first and it’s boring. Everyone says it’s great I’m assuming I just have another couple hours to push through?
ID: hl9jrmuI’ll be honest It took me a couple attempts but dude just stick with it and it will hook you and you’ll go on a binge of playing all 3
-
One of the best games ever made, just not one of the best PS5 games ever made.
-
I was going to ask the question when I saw the 45€ deal on PS Store but looks like guys in the US got a better deal haha ! Gonna wait and see if we can have a similar deal around Black Friday here then
-
Buy it you won't regret it
-
Yes, get it if you have never played them!
-
Absolutely worth it, only got it myself a few weeks back last time it was on sale. I’d never played them before and absolutely blasted through the first two, excellent games. Started the 3rd one but I’m taking kind of a break because I burned out a little completing the first two so quickly.
-
I paid more and loved it. But! I believe I saw it in Wal marts black friday ad for 25 bucks. Save a few extra if you can verify.
ID: hl9744rYes. The Best Buy one comes with the steel book
-
Totally worth it !
-
Thank you for the notice on Best Buy.
-
I have ea play. Waiting for it to be added to that subscription.
-
100% worth it, even when it was full price.
-
Well worth it. I bought it full price and played through it for the first time. Like others said, first game has pretty clunky gameplay, but 2 and 3 are much better. Story is pretty great all the way through too, but I haven’t quite finished the 3rd game yet.
-
Played them all years ago. I'm buying this today to play them all again.
-
Yes, its absolutely amazing.
-
Great value. It's my type of game but I didn't play them at the time because I was at that age where I was pretending to be cool and going with pubs, clubs, booze and girls instead of gaming. I'm glad that now I've accepted I'm a geek that they released this edition, its glorious. I'm on to ME3 at the moment having finished the 1st 2.
The other one I missed around that time was Fallout 3/New Vegas.. I tried it via PS Now but loading screens when I enter a building was too much. I hope it also gets a remaster soon.
-
Spectacular deal. ME1 is still a bit clunky, but still much improved. And story is totally worth it. Gets better from 2 onward also.

So, I bought the new trilogy and the shooting in the first is HORRIBLE. I just stopped playing the game.
Should I begin the 2nd game?
