- Rumor: Next Bioshock will be called Bioshock: Isolation, Q1 2022 reveal
-
Now all I can think of is a Xenomorphs stalking us around rapture.
ID: hmi6ewqID: hmj26pmI'd buy that game and never work up the courage to play it.
ID: hmib67aTake my money.
ID: hmiglsfBig daddy coming for you already...

Please don't suck. Please don't suck. Please don't suck.
ID: hmichm8Don’t worry I’ve figured out the secret. If you don’t pre-order it, it won’t suck. Its all in your hands now, good luck!
ID: hmig5ezIf this one specific person doesn’t pre-order it? Wow that’s a lot of pressure.
ID: hmjvcosFuck you, I want that Andrew Ryan bonus skin
ID: hmjze3xIn my mind, games don’t come out until they go on sale.
ID: hmihcjcKen Levine is gone. As good as it can possibly be, it's not going to be Bioshock
ID: hmj4cacCounterpoint: Minerva's Den
ID: hmirwxgThere are some game series that benefit from changing things up, so you never know how it will turn out.
ID: hmj2p93Bioshock 2 was pretty damn good. There’s hope.
ID: hmjl42uBy that logic:
The God of War games stopped being God of War when David Jaffe left after the second game.
Uncharted: A Thief's End isn't Uncharted because Amy Hennig left after Drake's Deception.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart isn't Ratchet & Clank because Brian Allgeier left after Into the Nexus.
ID: hmij3hbWith Ken Levine and Warren Spector out of the picture, the genre is all but dead.
Dues Ex. Dead. MAYBE now that Guardians of the Galaxy is out (most of the same Deus Ex team) there is a chance in hell they will make Dues Ex 5. Warren Spector is supposed to be involved with System Shock 3, but it's stuck in development hell having lost its publisher and rumors of the dev team stopping work a couple of times.
It so depressing. Its my favorite genre by far. I just finished Mankind Divided for the 5th. And people just are not excited for immersive FPS RPGs. Prey was criminally underrated. I mean it scored well, but went under the radar of most gamers. Thanks for reading. Just bummed that the market isn't flooded with these types of games and always get deppresed that System Shock and Deus Ex are in limbo for god knows how long.
ID: hmidw2tHow rude! I wasn’t going to anyway…

Is Ken Levine involved? Isn’t Irrational done?
ID: hmi7619Nah he is not involved unless they got him on some consultancy role for hellp
ID: hmig8fqYeh kinda like Vavle asking the old Half life writer for consultancies on making Half life Alyx even though he left Valve a long time ago.
ID: hmihebwPretty sure he himself said he's not involved in any way
ID: hmiaff0Nah but they do have a lot of other people who worked on previous Bioshock games.
ID: hmibjx5Yea, he shut down Irrational and started up Ghost Story Games, they haven’t released any projects yet though. From what I know they aren’t involved with BioShock of any sorts. Once Irrational closed 2K Games kept the rights to it who developed alongside Irrational for the previous entries. That should help keep it in the same lane as the previous entries hopefully. I do expect a full new start up for the series though as anyone that played Burial At Sea knows they really buttoned up the first 3 games quite well as a solid trilogy.

This reminded me that I still have the Bioshock Collection for PS4 sitting on my shelf unopened. I should probably play that soon lol
ID: hmjlne5I originally played on PS4 years ago, but platinumed all of them on the PS5 and they all hold up well.
You should play them through again, still an amazing series even after all these years.
-
Hell yeah. Bioshock games are different that the rest.
ID: hmkux0vPlay Prey (2017) if you want a spiritual successor.
IMO, it should have been called Neuroshock, because it feels like Arkane making a -shock game.
System Shock, Bioshock, Neuroshock (Prey).

What if it's a city on Mars
ID: hmicca1The more I think about this, the more I'm like: Yeah, why not?
ID: hmijh0mwhat about the same intro as in infinite, but you end up on the moon.
Same rapture, this time less gravity
ID: hmiku4ySo, Prey?
ID: hmilcaxIsn't prey on a space station or am I missing something
-
Underground or in space confirmed

That geforce leak is more and more real
ID: hmihh0xWell tbf, 2K announced they were working on a new Bioshock in 2019
ID: hmio2lsI hope against hope….. but Silksong in just two months still seems like a stretch.
ID: hmitel9Idk, Silk Song is long overdue, two months from now it's a plausible date imho.
ID: hmj3vpwStarting to believe everything in there is real. So Switch games will come to geforce now soon.
ID: hmj4mtnDoesn't the switch has game that plays online because the console isn't strong enough, like for Control?
-
Infinite was such a masterpiece, def one of the best games i played, hopefully this will be just as good
ID: hmj3k4qI'm a huge fan of Infinite. One of the few games I've gone back to replay all the way through multiple times.

With all the mess of recent AAA releases from these big third party publishers, my expectations for a new Bioshock game is zero.
ID: hmja9orThis year alone from third-party studios we've gotten Hitman 3, Little Nightmares 2, Persona 5 Strikers, It Takes Two, Scarlet Nexus, Resident Evil Village, 12 Minutes, Psychonauts 2 (sorta published by Xbox, but nearly finished in-house beforehand), Deathloop, Guardians of the Galaxy, SMTV, and Riders Republic. The number of bitter comments in here crying about how "AAA studios don't make good games anymore" is absolutely absurd.
Even the "bad" games aren't really bad- Battlefield 2042 launched in pretty much the same state as every other Battlefield game (broken), so no surprise there. CoD is like Madden- you don't go in expecting a new experience, you go in expecting more CoD and that's what Vanguard delivers. Far Cry 6 isn't a bad game, it's just another Far Cry. No better, no worse. Halo Infinite has the best multiplayer the series has seen in over a decade (for FREE), but it's getting the rest of its content later on.
While there have been complete misses like Balan Wonderworld or GTA Remastered, it's not like the AAA games industry is lacking excellent experiences. Does this mean anyone should trust that a game is going to be amazing based on trailers/early footage? Hell no. Just don't preorder games, wait a bit for reviews to come in, and you'll be more than able to find something to play each month out of the year (and that's not even including first-party titles). I know YouTubers and journalists like Sterling drum up every little issue to be a major controversy, but on the whole the industry is better than it ever has been in the past (otherwise, why would people have issues with the CoD formula or Battlefield glitches now that they didn't have every other time a game in those series released?). If you want to complain about issues in the AAA industry, maybe Activision Blizzard's absolutely disgusting work environment or the forced crunch time in many studios would be a better place to look.
ID: hmjesfhI think Cyberpunk is still to blame for a lot of this resentment for AAA games. IMO the hype for that game was unreal and everyone trusted the darling publisher CD Project Red so much that when even they failed them to the extent they did it burned a giant hole in people's mind and when another game fails even mildly in one aspect now, people just throw it on the pile of "bad" games. This is just my opinion though. I agree with everything you said above.
ID: hmk8glaBF2042’s issues run a lot deeper than just being buggy like most BF launches.
-
Can’t wait. I hope it will be similar to the first game
-
Still hoping this is next gen only. Am anxiously awaiting the full fat AAA multiplat built solely from the start for Zen2.
-
I don't get excited about many games anymore, but this has my attention.
-
Hype! Hopefully this is a next gen exclusive
ID: hmiesbwLast I heard it is using Unreal Engine 5 so no doubt it will be a next-gen exclusive.

I'd play that game
