- Elden Ring will have 42 achievements (most likely 43 with the Platinum) per Steam
-
Please no online trophies... I dont wanna fight 400 git gut dark souls veterans for a spell or some wacky item.
ID: hmgmjg4ID: hmgon1cThese trophies aren’t even difficult, they just aren’t fun!
Like, why are some devs so protective with their trophies?! What do they care if someone gets a platinum without devoting their life to a game?!
ID: hmh6qtrUpload save to the cloud. Kill NPC. Get trophy. Redownload save from the cloud.
ID: hmgqg14Generally speaking, the ones that do involve online have a way to get them offline, but it could involve a lot of farming.
For example, in DS3 all the covenant items could be farmed rather than collecting them through the PvP, but it was quite a slog to collect them that way.
ID: hmh6x8kDemon's Souls had exclusively online achievements.
ID: hmgpqmrYou dont need to do anything. Play for fun. If collecting trophies is no longer fun then stop
ID: hmgv6i1Don't worry you can farm one rare mob for a 5% drop chance of the item too.
ID: hmh0bk7which you have to do 30 times
ID: hmjew9oDS3 all rings trophy was the worst trophy I ever went for.
That said, I'm ready to do it again
ID: hmgnk9wI can't remember online trophies ever being included in dark souls/bloodborne. Think your good.
ID: hmgp6ylConvenant items for the plat in DS3 are farmable without being online but are a huge pain in the ass without doing online
ID: hmgv4thI love trophy hunting for reasonable games! The worst offender recently for me was the Hextech rhythm game. Some of those trophies are insanely and unnecessarily hard. The best way I can describe the worst trophy is like this: imagine you're playing guitar hero on a pretty generic song. You're jamming to it, wanting to get that 100%. You finally got it and that's great! Now do it again, except we hid subtle notes in the song. We won't show you where, but use the background as hints. (If you beat every other song, though, we'll give you a mode where you can see where they are). Awesome you managed to do that! Now all of them are invisible. Good luck! Do that for like, 60 songs.
ID: hmh5ipoThey’re usually pretty good with providing offline alternatives to items you can acquire through online play.
-
And I look forward to achieving all trophies.
-
I'm almost positive it's happening, but I'm really scared of having the 'collect all of x' achievements return. The DS3 plat was a really dull grind around the end, and I won't even dare take on DS1 or DS2 for the same reasons.
Bloodborne wasn't so bad, but that's simply because there was less to collect.
I'll probably still give the plat an honest shot, though.
ID: hmgp1znDs3 is the only Soulborne game I have not platinumed. Too much of a grind if you do it offline (not a ps+ member). I finished the game 4 times and I have almost everything, but I have not the patience to kill the same dude for 20 hours just to get a trophy.
ID: hmgyubbWhile it’s true that this was all much easier when the game was in its first years of life, I found the one grind I had to do (Records of a Concord Kept) wasn’t that bad, honestly. Maybe an hour of farming the knights on the steps. Respec to boost your luck, etc and it’s not as bad as it sounds. The other PVP items are even easier to farm.
ID: hmggqkuDS2 was okay and not too difficult
ID: hmgh8xoI don't know, man. I see things like 'Learn all gestures/miracles/sorceries' and I'm just like 'eh... maybe one day, but nah'
I honestly said the same about DS3, though, and I ended up going for that one so maybe one day. It's just not a trend I'm a huge fan of.
ID: hmgreiyIs that still true? It’s the only FromSoft Platinum I don’t have, but I assumed it would be an endless grind to get the PVP items.
ID: hmhx0s5Man I remember grinding the Darkmoon covenant item at Anor londo stairs for like 8 hours because the covenant was broken and you would never get summoned even when the population was at the highest, which was required to get a spell to get the trophy lol. Fun times.
Edit: in Ds3
ID: hmgqkhgAgree. The games should ideally just push you slightly to go above and beyond. They’re challenging enough.
The grinds in Sekiro and DS 3 for the platinum were roughhhhh while I really liked the challenge of going a little out of the way off the beaten path for the Queen in Bloodborne. Demon’s Souls also wasn’t bad, just basically asking you to play through at least a NG+ and it’s already a good game so not much of a problem there.
ID: hmh9384I platinumed all the games and imo ds3 was the worst grind out of them all. While i personally dislike ds2 i would argue the farming wasn't as bad. Demon souls was actually the easiest for me.

I’m very excited for that game, but reality is starting to hit that I won’t be playing it for quite a while.
My wife is pregnant with our second kid and I had quite the gaming drought after our first was born. I don’t know why I’m typing this other than to tell the world I’m salty about it.
ID: hmhl25zSorry. I just experienced this. It sucks in the best way possible.
ID: hmhlqnuYeah I remember it well. I’m so much more worried for this second one. I think because it was easier going into the unknown last time.
This time I’m well aware of how hard it is, but this time we also have a toddler.
ID: hmhvw6uAll good bro. Wait 6 months and get it half off.
ID: hmhm46wPlay games with your kids, sure they'll appreciate it later.
ID: hmhmqejCan’t play games with a newborn, that’s the drought
ID: hmhntzfBecause newborns are famously good at Soulsbourne games...
-
I platinumed every single souls game (still working on Demon‘s Souls PS5) and am looking forward to doing the same here too.
Sekiro was by far the hardest though. The last boss still haunts my nightmares.
ID: hmh4i7zSekiro Platinum was just piss off annoying man. All those skills should not take that long. I finished the game into New game cycle 5 and I only had half of the xp requirements, since the last 25 skill points were roughly equal in value to the first 100.
ID: hmh5ausI know it doesn't help you now, but there were a few great farming spots that you could get a few levels in 10 minutes or so, it really helps. One is at the place where you initially fight the Chained Ogre, but after the invasion happens.
-
The total number of trophies doesn’t really tell us anything
-
Man, this game looks cool, but I’m struggling with Demon’s Souls in the early game.
ID: hmhq98bDo a magic build, magic is pretty OP in DS. I did a melee/magic build using the crescent falchion since it’s damage scales with your magic stat and had an absolute blast for the rest of the game after getting stuck and frustrated on my first try
ID: hmkjentSo this is currently what I’m trying but going through 4-1 is a pain right now. What I did for a little while was killed the first few skeletons and then head back to the Nexus and spend them on stat points to give me some more magic damage and a little health. It’s helped but I still have some issues. I was going to 4-1 to get that falchion or whatever but it’s just a struggle to get to it.
ID: hmk62v9Ha! Just wait man. Juuuuuust wait.
ID: hmkk4ezI’m pushing through man, but yeah I think a lot of my issues are understanding the enemy attacks and figuring out the timing. I think the timing of things has me struggling.
-
Shit game...
I was expecting 44.
-
I can’t wait for this game!
-
I'll get that plat regardless.
-
This is such a pointless thing to talk about
-
Just curious, these kind of games would be better to be played on PC or consoles?
ID: hmhqoi1If you're wanting to enjoy online play, probably go with console
ID: hmhdlelPC, with a controler
-
Hopefully there will be a T-bag achievement. nefarious laughter ensues
-
I just hope there are no "leaderboard" trophies those are the worst ones.
-
Man I really want to get into Souls games but I’m just terrible at them. I’ve tried blood borne a couple times and don’t think I ever managed to even make it to the first boss fight. Any advice? Or is it just like “yep you’re gonna get curb stomped and just learn naturally while playing”
-
We're still doing this? I don't brother with it unless it gives perks or cheats in-games.
Does nobody remember those anymore? When you completed certain things, you unlocked benefits or cheats?
-
Let people enjoy things.
-
I do enjoy the games, but it was more fun unlocking it to see what perk it boosted or gave. Nowadays, it just a digital trophy that will get wiped out if someone fucked up at the sony server or if your account got banned.
-
Mmmmm shiny icon make brain have happy chemicals
-
Nope. Making the game fun and adding in perks make brain have happy chemicals. Also, unlocking skins or something is better to use ingame.
-
Is Elden Ring one of those “mile wide but an inch deep” open-world games? Sure, the gameplay looks true to the Soulsbourne mechanics, but the game world looks like something straight out of a Dynasty Warriors game.
-
People who played the test said it had a shocking amount of depth. More than most people were expecting. Sounds like a very curated open world experience. Secrets, hidden stuff, bosses, etc.
-
That question can't be answered until the game comes out.
-
It’s looking like the best open world game since BoTW. Game world graphically isn’t the best but the details in the environments is as good as any open world game out there.
-
From games have always looked one generation behind except Sekiro.
Edit: This isn’t literal. Stop messaging me about it.
-
The large open world is purposely barren from a lore perspective is my understanding, the depth will be more in pockets of the world which are supposedly similar to classic Souls level design.
-
I just hope it doesn’t have any grindy covenant trophies… the plats I have are bloodborne, sekiro, and demon’s souls.
The dark souls plats seemed pretty grindy imo.
-
Mission accomplished. It's slick 🙂
-
The fuck?! I had no idea this was coming to PC... if this has crossplay with pc/console Im selling my PS5. At the moment the only reason ive kept my PS5 is for this game.
-
Ok
-
if this has crossplay with pc/console
It doesn't. Also, the beta was only on consoles and didnt run super well. Doesn't bode well for the state of the PC version at launch.
-
Who careeeeees. Trophies are dumb I hate them because I have OCD and want to play games I don't even find fun
-
thats it? thats pretty few for an open world souls game.
-
can somebody confirm it will not have ubisoft style open world? where you get out in the wild and just get attacked by same AI models over and over again?

Don’t worry it will just be something where you need to play 5 NGs and one where you need to murder the girl that sells you levels at the start or whatever. Nothing crazy
