That's what it mostly sounds like, though it's technically a co-development situation. But yea, I'm guessing kinda like how Sony Japan 'helped' From Software make Bloodborne. Basically didn't do shit other than the idea.

They bought the name and catalog. It's a completely different studio now calling itself Telltale.

Many assets were later acquired by LCG Entertainment, which revived the Telltale Games name as part of its business in August 2019, retaining many of the company's previous licenses and offering former staff freelance positions.
