ID: hpcfxssID: hpd01gkI don’t know if that’s true. Reportedly 2042 was supposed to be mainly a BR up to a year ago. Changing course in core design intent only one year before ship would be a dangerous game for any release. It probably was never gonna be a GOTY type of release but another year of development time could’ve created something a hell of a lot better than this.

The battlefield 1 servers are still pretty populated if anyone is looking for a good battlefield game to play.

ID: hpe1c77V is great too now. Shame it's the largest install right now topping out a massive 192 gigs. 1 and 2042 are way less. Vs shooting is better than 1, more snappier but I love both.

ID: hpg22rbthe things you need to do to see full games on bf1 is strange. by default the server browser doesn't show many games for some reason, so to fix it set slots to none, 1-5 and 6-10, and your region as wherever you are. I used to think no one played the game anymore but after finding out how to fix the server browser there is usually 15+ full servers of conquest and operations on console.

ID: hpbtg75Maybe not entirely dead but it won’t be in a good spot. The gunplay is in a good spot maybe just tweak some of the rockets and vehicle weapons a bit but the maps are sooooo bad. They’re a lot better with 64 players now that they added that option but I’d rather them fix 128 players than just settle for 64.
Lots of work still to do but I don’t know if people will stick around. BF4 was sooooo bad on launch and took a year to get good so maybe. We will see.

Unbelievable. Can't believe they botched this launch so bad.
Easily the most tone-deaf game I've ever played, doesn't feel like a Battlefield game at all. The design and creative leads destroyed this franchise when they could've easily bolstered their market share with everyone bored of Call of Duty.
Just sad.

ID: hpci4buI paid full price for this game and i am forcing myself to play one hour per day. I can confirm that this game is not fun at all though. BF4 was the last great BF game, but Bad Company 2 is still peak battlefield.

The less people that play this game shows them what a mistake it was to take it in this direction. Life is too short to waste it playing a game you’re not even having fun playing.
ID: hpe1q0wI paid $90 to get to play early and haven't touched the game in weeks lol. I'll just take the L on it. I could've returned it but held out hope they'd get their shit together in the first couple weeks. I was there for the whole trip that was BFV so I absolutely should've known better. DICE is not the developer they used to be.
Thank god EA has taken the series away from them and Ripple Effect will be doing the next one.

The wait is going to be long and painful.
I hope they will improve the game and listen to the community…
But I have a feeling that this game will experience the same fate as bf V. Just when it started to get good and people were positive they stopped updating it.
I can’t believe battlefront 2 and bf V both died for this game and somehow it had the least content of any battlefield title at launch.
Portal does have alot content (and it took ripple effect just over a year to make it) but why does the MAIN 2042 game has so little content. DICE was the main studio working on it like 3 years. But still manages to have less content than portal.
ID: hpcjc2xI’m still upset about Battlefront. I won’t lie, Battlefront II had lived far longer than it had any right to, yet I am so happy that it did. The content we got at the end (aside from the half-baked OT Supremacy) was a blast. Yet it’s undeniable that the game had gone on for far longer than they ever intended.
What I’m most upset about is the fact that the team was not moving on to work on the next title; they were brought for Battlefield. Because of this, who knows how long it will be before a Battlefront III (I’m sure it will happen eventually. There is enough demand for it.).

Based on how it released...this should have been free to play. They would have made a killing on Battle Pass/other bundles. However, you can't expect to charge people full price for such an "empty" experience, during COVID, when people's gaming budgets are perhaps limited.

They’ve already lost 75% of the playerbase on steam, probably similar on console.
Right now it seems very likely that 2042 will remain a failure, it’s pretty hard to remain optimistic about this game.
ID: hpc81dkHere in England I see trade in shops like Cex have their shelves overflowing with copies of the game. A lot of people have discarded it on console. I don't have any issues getting matches on PS5 but I'm not sure how long that will last with the idea of just getting a single weapon skin quest once a week until March.

The game isn't completely horrible, I'm having fun with it. But just like every other BF, it won't feel complete until a year from now.

As someone who played every BF since 1942, I can say that this game isn’t as bad as everyone says? Disaster … no. Opportunity? Definitely.

How can I not find servers to play on PS5 without enable cross play?
And why can't I have cross play with other consoles yet exclude PC?
For the first time in many BF releases, this is the last time I pay full price for a BF game. It is annoying that in less than a month it went on sale, too. At least I only paid the base price, but still...
And for the love of jam, why they hell do they have to mess up vehicle controls every single release and make it like a puzzle trying to get the old controls back? Ah, I'm getting riled up here and it's off topic.
