I am bying my friend a game for Christmas but i am stuck between re4 ant tlou. We recently played re6 togeather and had a blast so I’m thinking it might be a good idea for her to try out re4. But it is also kind of an old game and I’m worried she might find the flaws of it a bit of putting sense she doesn’t really play video games otherwise.
The last of us in the other hand is a great game that I’m pretty sure she will like tho I really want to se if she can get into resident evil sense it’s my favorite franchise. I need a second opinion?

I would go with TLOU. I have a friend who played RE6 and they recently tried out RE4 and couldn't stand the movement and controls. They immediately gave up RE4 because they just hate the way Leon moves.
ID: hpfjh8wID: hpfksnpThey could like RE5 if they really want a two player game? Resident Evil: Revelations 1 & 2 are also pretty cool with similar controls to 6!
-
The last of us! Hands down
-
TLOU and it’s not even close.
ID: hpfgma0I know it seems like the reasonable thing but I think Leon is manipulating me with his good looks.

TLOU no doubts, also RE4 and RE6 are different games, RE6 is a military shooting game while RE4 is more survival horror.
ID: hpfk5dsI have played 4 a lot and would not call it a survival horror game, it’s more like a better and slightly more subtle action game than 6 with more horror elements.
-
The risk you run with going backwards in a series is that you lose a lot of the polish and quality of life improvements that come with newer games.
TLOU still holds up as a solid game in all aspects, so that's my vote.
ID: hpfkcfeYep the slightly of controls of 4 might be off putting to her so I’m gonna go for TLOU.

You can have, LEON!!! HELP ME LEON.
OR
Helpful companion like ellie and a joke book lol
ID: hpfyg4gHahaha god point altho Ellie is almost taunting you with how fine she is all the time while I’m over there dying.
-
RE5 is pretty good 2 player co-op if you can get it on sale. TLOU is certainly a better game though.
RE4 was one of the best of the franchise though. So if you really like the RE style and want to take turns, go for it.
-
RE 4 has the better gameplay even with the tank controls imo, while TLOU has the better story and characters. TLOU still has good gameplay I'm just personally not a fan of stealth.
-
RE4 is a far better game, But the controls have not aged super well, LoU is probably better for a modern gamer, since everyone wants an emotional story these days
-
Personally I think RE4 is way overhyped so I’d say TLoU. If you guys had fun with RE6 why not do 5 or revelations 2
ID: hpgkhivTrue but I want it to be a game that she can enjoy on her own
-
What kind of question is this? In 2021 I think it’s obvious which one.
ID: hpgknrlIdk, I’m personally a bigger fan of re4 but I think TLOU wold fit better I’m gonna go with TLOU tho
-
Both!
ID: hpgkqygHonestly I want to I think I might just get re4 for her birthday instead tho
-
RE4 Remake is surely getting announced eventually. I’m holding out for it.
-
This opinion has already been echoed a couple times but I'd honestly say RE4, despite its age. I love TLoU, but honestly playing it is my least favorite thing about it. I go back for the story, not the gameplay.
ID: hpgq4ecShoot now I really don’t know what to pick, should I just give her the choice?
ID: hpgqt2mIf you don't really mind the surprise being spoiled ¯_(ツ)_/¯ also depends on what kind of experience you think she'd enjoy. I hope it goes without saying that these both are absolutely great experiences in their own way, and important milestones for gaming in general.

I mean that's asking between a 10/10 game and one of the greatest games of all time (RE4, if you had any doubts) They're both so good it'll come down to personal preference. Look at gameplay and you'll see which is more your viiiiiibe
ID: hph3k29I know that I like re4 more but I think she might like TLOU sense it’s more down to earth and calm in comparison to re4.
ID: hph47snTLOU is the safer choice. it's a modern game, with more forgiving checkpoints and controls. RE4 is an all time masterpiece that i honestly think is best played on the Wii. i would not call either calm, lol 😉

RE4 is a game everyone should play. If you liked RE6 then RE5 is what you should try next. It's a much better game than 6.
-
I like the last of us remastered edition for the ps4 better, but resident evil 4 on the gamecube was the first resident evil game I really liked. I still like it more than other resident evil games that were released afterwards.
Re4 is a little dated and capcoms control scheme always seems to suck no matter what game or when it's released...so be prepared for that if you decided on it.
Resident evil 4 is a good game though and you should play it.

Thank you that was exactly what I was worried about. You do get used to the controls but for people who don’t really play a lot it might cause them to give up, I will go with TLOU then
