Spitfire (before carepackage) vs Rampage. Which one is stronger?

I prefer rampages iron sights but everything else goes to spitfire

ID: hqp8ls5No matter how much people complained, I have never been ashamed of my love for the Spitty. It just feels fun to shoot. And honestly, if I killed you with it then you didn't bother to strafe much or use cover. You had options.

ID: hqptwoaWell no, it felt more like a flatline with a mag size of 55 because it had crazy damage per bullet, a high fire rate, and the ability to melt a squad with red shields in 1 mag. It was way too strong and I never used it since mid season 8.

Spitfire is the better weapon, but Rampage is far more oppressive psychologically and at range it's got the edge because it's easier to control.
Which would I rather have? The Spitfire.
Which would I rather my enemy has? Also, the Spitfire.

ID: hqpvhi4Same. There's nothing worse than getting shot at by a rampage from range, worse if all 3 of them are running it. Thing hits like a truck with that low recoil, and trying to peak back or move is a nightmare because they shred your ass the moment they spot you. Playing smart and killing them always feels good tho.

I have a clip of me wiping the entire last squad in 15 seconds with a Golden Spitfire back before it got CPed. Thing was so fucking strong.

Spitfire, Rampage is too slow without thermite grenades and is somehow easier to miss shots at close range.

ID: hqpkhm4Only the Rampage can allow you to perfectly fire a crime scene outline around your target at close bank range, very infuriating.
ID: hqq2kbwThe slowdown people get when they get hit is one of the key things that makes people easy to hit. With a lower fire rate weapon, you can drag your cursor over a target and and up firing on either side of them when a higher fire rate weapon would have hit them. That's a big part of it
ID: hqppp2sI see a hint another day where it shows that if you PRESS the trigger instead of HOLD, it makes the Ramp hipfire way more better, try it!!
ID: hqplkjaMight have something to do with fire rate, every time a bullet leaves the gun you're probably just not on the enemy. With a spitty it shot so fast you could literally have ZERO aim and something gonna hit.
ID: hqpr0neYup definitely the fire rate, the target being able to strafe away from the projectile and the weapon not being hit-scan.

There's a reason Spitfire got nerfed multiple times and then got thrown in the Care Package.
if you were good with it, it was oppressive in every range.
Pre Nerf Horizons would run this with 2x and destroy whole lobbies.
It could beam people at stupid ranges. You could sit just outside of R301 beam range and you could be untouchable.
Enemy got a little too close for comfort? Spitfire has intrinsically good hipfire more so than any gun I've had to use hipfire on, if I ever had to use a gun to hipfire with I would hands down choose Spitfire over any gun in the game.

Spitfire is more powerful but the rampage is more annoying.

Spitfire for sure, Rampart does have the edge at further ranges but Spitty is more versatile while also just being stupid strong. Looking back I can't believe there was a time in S8 when I never picked it up.

Depends what you want to do. Suppressing fire, or enemies rushing you: spitfire. Long range, trying to pick of escaping enemies: rampage

But I think rampage is better with thermit long range cause I can just jitter my mouse and do 150 damage

Spitfire was better, I never pick it up anymore because I only ever take krabers from care packages
ID: hqpw160Don’t sleep on the CP Alternator and Spitty! There’s almost no reason to not swap out one of you ground loot weapons for those. And both would go great with your Kraber 😉
