- Should I Buy resident evil 2, 3 or Village ? HELP
-
I would say start with 2
-
If you're new to resident evil
- Play 2 then 3(shorter campaign so buy on sale)
If you've played 7 already, then get 8(village)
-
RE2 for sure. It’s not even close if you are new to the series

Don't buy 3. You can't really go wrong with 2 or village though. Personally I like 2 more but it really depends on your taste, but like I said can't really go wrong there, just don't buy 3, it's not bad by any means but it has so much removed stuff from it. It is a remake but instead of improving and expanding, it kinda cuts things out, so the game is enjoyable, but it's kinda short and feels incomplete, 2 is amazing though, village is great too, id say 2 is the better game, but if you liked 7 a lot, village is similar to it so that's also a good option. Just don't buy 3.

My opinion, don't buy 3. It is Jill's campaign, it is super short and not worth it.
Resident Evil 2 is pretty nice, harder than Village and more old fashioned, as it is a remake of an older game. Story wise, you can expect less than from re8 since it is more of an action based game then a story game. The story is mediocre, but the gameplay is extremely fun and keeps you on the edge, you can never have enough ammunition as the enemies never die unless you headshot them 5 to 6 times and the inventory space is always lacking, but that is just a resident evil game for you. Nevertheless, it is a great game to play, and the controls are flawless.
Resident Evil 8 is a story focused resident evil game, that combines the elements of re7 and re4 with the similar enemies to re4 and the protagonist of re7 experiencing more shitty things (you'd think Ethan would have PTSD at this point and not dare to do anything related to the mold ever again, but nah XD). I would definitely say I enjoyed re8 as a re7 and re4 fan, wasn't as horrifying as re7 or as goofy as re4, but still quite enjoyable.
In conclusion, I would firstly get re8, then when I'm done, re2 and if I really wanna play all of the resident evil games, I'd get re3, which in my opinion really wasn't that good. Hope this helps you!

Yes

What do you usually play?

Start with 2 and 3 if you want a taste of RE originality (In a modern sense) but if you enjoy first person shooter better and want to play something that is so unlike RE that it should be called a different game then start with 7, and if you played 7 already and enjoyed it then play village. Third person or first person? That’s what your choice should be based on because I would’ve enjoyed 7 and village more personally if it was third person.
ID: hrosoxa3 if you want a taste of RE originality
2 plays like classic re games but modernized, meanwhile nothing about RE3make gameplay (or even the story cue to protagonist falling from the roof in the car or running from giant head toy rolling through the streets ) will give OP any taste of "RE originality". Last time I checked none of original 1-3 games was an extremely linear action shooter without puzzles and driven mostly by set-pieces and interactive cut-scenes.
ID: hrp3thnI mentioned RE2 remake as well, you’re only firing shots at 3 since it seems as though you have a personal vendetta with that game. Regardless of what you say it is a lot more like the originals than 7 and village, you use Jill Valentine, Carlos, it’s third person like the first three games and nemesis is in the game. Those facts already make it more like the original games and every RE game than 7 and village. Chris Redfield was the only character held in action from the older games in village. That being said, it’s all about how you perceive the game when you play it. When I play 3 remake I still SLIGHTLY feel those original RE vibes, with 7 and village I don’t feel it AT ALL. But that’s just me man everyone is different. I don’t expect a remake to be 100% on point, but even just having nemesis Jill and Carlos is enough for me.
