- do any of you remember 'king kong'?
-
Back when they didn't know what to do with achievement points. Beat the game and you get all 1000 points.
ID: hs8rk2cID: hs9klzvMore fool him, I borrowed it for 1000 gamerscore.
ID: hs8lymsOn the flip side Call of Duty 2 also gave you all 1000 for beating the game...but only on Veteran difficulty. So many hours of pain.
ID: hs9eb6fI remember that too. Those were the first games I got for the 360. King Kong only has 9 achievements and CoD2 has 13.
-
That game was one of the best movie-game adaptations
ID: hs9c8riI was too scared of it to keep playing it as a kid lmao
ID: hs9k8efsame!! and i ran out of ammo super fast
ID: hs9nu92Freaking giant bugs O_O.
ID: hs9hbv2Literally came here to say that. Completely out did itself. I guess I was not expecting much from a movie game so it blew me away
ID: hs9mazvLotr rotk was great too. Both rotk and king kong films were made by peter jackson. Coincidence?
ID: hs9o818Two towers was also really good
-
Oh, you meant the source of my crippling terror of centipedes?
Rings a bell
ID: hs9dffvOh THAT's why I'm terrified of those!
-
Yess this game was sweet. I still have a copy of it for my old ps2 In the closet.
-
Played it on the OG xbox. Probably the best movie to game adaptation I've ever played. One magazine on backup!
-
This was the first game I’ve played that had limited to no HUD. Not knowing how much ammo I had and hearing that desperate “I’m dry!” call out when you ran out made it so much more tense.
ID: hs8x53sI learned how to count shots like a real man because of this game. Movies can be awful because i can literally hear how inaccurate magazine sizes in movies could be
-
Yeah, shit was terrifying back then
ID: hs86xjeThe low overall ammo supply and the fact that spears were everywhere and really powerful(and also broke eventually) was a fun game mechanic. It very much added to the realism and intensity.
ID: hs8g6ldI distinctly recall several close calls with the massive Dinosaur where I was running and felt like my head was practically in its mouth!
ID: hs8ooityup and Very tough game too.
ID: hs91jibIs that the one with the giant spiders at the start?
If so that was terrifying as a kid lmao
-
Yes absolutely loved it, JP Trespasser vibes
-
This was one of the first games I owned on my Xbox 360, this game was such a blast, I loved it. I remember it was this game and Call Of Duty 2. At the time, this game had phenomenal graphics.
-
What a damn great game. It makes me mourn all the other video game adaptations that were rushed and flounder in their mediocrity.
-
“3 bullets on backup”
-
King Kong was my very first game I ever played.
ID: hs7urt3This wasnt my first game but it was my first FPS game. Loved it back in the day.
-
That game was by far the GREATEST MOVIE GAME EVER MADE. So much fun. Fighting the t Rex’s as King Kong was amazing
-
Was amazed by it. Wanted to play it. Got the game. Got scared shitless by the centipedes and used cheats to only play the King Kong levels.
ID: hs9b34vWow i did EXACTLY the same!
-
That alt ending was awsome
-
Yes Xbox 360 if I’m not mistaken?
ID: hs8hc3sBoth new and old gen at the time. I played this on a GameCube.
-
Yup. This and turok
-
Had it on psp. Great game
-
I played this on the ds
-
I love this game
-
Dope game, wish there was more like it.
-
I always get stuck with that T-rex when I play this
-
Unlimited spears cheat plz.
-
I played this game so so much growing up. I absolutely loved it
-
This game is actually awesome, and terrifying.
-
The part with the raptors in the water f’d me up because they’d come out of nowhere
-
Omg i use to play thus game so much, this game is a masterpiece of game adaptation
-
I had this game, played it quite a bit. Fun game, scary parts.
-
I remember my mom took this game away from me because I got jump scared by a raptor
-
The Kong boss fights were great, idk if this one counts but when you fight 3 v-rexes i kbow my first reaction to that was "oh fuck". Coolest game I've ever played ngl. Also the fact that the v-rexes were invincible while playing as Jack and you have to save Ann, damn so many good memories. I gotta get that game again
-
Ooooh, yeah.
Got stuck part-way in 'cos kid me couldn't find the L3 button for a year or two.
Finally found it, but then got stuck on the T-Rex Raft section because I had a single spear left immediately after an auto-save and no matter what I did I couldn't do anything but be eaten.

Had a rich friend in highschool who said he got the game just for the easy gamerscore
