- Watch Dogs Legion: An update from the development team
-
TL;DR: They aren’t updating the game anymore.
ID: htr4twgID: htrv5h5Update: No more updates
ID: htsjgu6Update: Drinking/darts is still bugged, good luck getting your platinum assholes!
ID: htr4309There’s nothing to update it with anyways. They released a full game + story DLC.
It was never a GaaS.
It’s gotten more support than most other games anyways.
ID: htrlirxThey promised New Game + that never happened
ID: htrxx9kThey probably could have updated it to actually be fun
ID: hts3nuhMuch obliged!

Finished first Watch Dogs and platinumed second one but just couldn't get into this one. Graphics look great and setting is interesting but just it's so boring.
Seeing London reminded me how much I would love new Getaway. Also bring back Driver you cowards.
ID: htrc8ztYou mean the game driver? Man I miss that game. Was my childhood.
ID: htrd10dYup. I might be alone but I even got enjoyment from Driv3r. Same with Driver Parallel Lines and Driver San Francisco. Came with no expectations and enjoyed them a lot.
ID: htrkcc5Getaway was a ps2 game that was about British gangsters taking place in London
ID: hts7ix0Wait Legion is based in London?! That may persuade me to buy it. Though I didnt enjoy wd1 cause of Aidens emotionless, not played 2.
Crazy tho cause from playing wd1 I recognised Chicago in other media afterwards so hyperrealistic!
ID: htrbsyxYea I agree. The graphics awesome and the gameplay is great. Driving horrible tho. Overall the game was just outright boring
-
I did not enjoy that game in all honesty. Finished it, I found the lack of real protagonist a little dull, the story generic and the gameplay, limited and very repetitive for an open-world.
They can do better, hopefully the next one will be better and learn from those mistakes
ID: htr53vzThe real protagonist was an interesting thing to try though: if people don't try, we'll never know.
ID: htsgkhlHonestly, I thought London looked great in it, and it was the first game I played on PS5 where I was convinced that, graphically, what I was looking at could not have been achieved on the previous generation of consoles.
That’s a pretty shallow reason to enjoy a game, I suppose, but then I’m a pretty shallow person.
ID: htru3plI've been playing the game as Aiden, so I feel like I have a real protagonist. Game is alright so far, definitely the weakest of the three considering it had so much potential.
ID: hts3epuWhen you play as Aiden, does he act like Aiden, or just another generic character?
ID: htra0biI agree with you found it very dull and repetitive voice acting was pretty bad two it’s a shame as the idea was unique the execution however just wasn’t that good.
-
I thought the disposable protagonist mechanic sucked. Ruined the game for me.
ID: htr89jpDidn't work well with the story. Need a strong protagonist leading the wallpaper NPC's. Metal Gear Solid handles the mechanic better imo.
ID: htr58ozI think that was the only good thing about the game
ID: htracaoWhen I saw the first trailer when they announced this feature I immediately lost all interest in the game
-
Really enjoyed it, played it to completion including the expansion, but for me, it was a single player and I wasn't going to engage with the other stuff tagged on it. Hope those that did enjoyed it.
It's certainly worth picking up for the usual discounted price for the single player.
ID: htrcxpdI found a lot of the plotlines and arcs to be dull, but there was one arc that was genuinely amazing. It was the arc involving the scientist who turned her dying mum into an AI to serve her house. The slow-burn reveal was creepy and felt like something out of Black Mirror.
ID: htrgvzrYeah that was the best story arc. I did enjoy the sneaking about a lot and taking people out with gadgets.
Multiplayer just wasn't as fun (ditched the stealth led play and you just had to go in guns blazing at slightly bullet spongey enemies)
-
My only problem with the game is it runs like absolute shit on my computer..
Like I'd totally play it if I could but both Watch Dogs 2 and Legion don't look nearly as good for how bad they can run sometimes. Watch Dogs 2 has some really neat puzzles though and is a much more chill game to play so I can atleast enjoy that.
-
Watch dogs 1 is still my favorite watch dogs in the series. I played that instead of GTA V cause I was young, but still had loads of fun with that game
-
am i the only who got bored to tears by watch_dogs legion i mean i like the recruit anyone mechanic as much as the next guy but to implement it they sacrificed story and character development. there isn't a single interesting character in the entire story, the DLC bloodlines on the other hand, um yeah that should have just been the main game.
-
Paid 17$ for it - it was ok at that price.
-
I really enjoyed it honestly, not a game that needed more content by any means though.
-
Watch Dogs 2 is still the best game for me. I thought legion made a good attempt to differentiate and to try and mix it up but i didn’t fall in love with the multiple protagonists. Curious to see where they take it next.
-
Worst watch dogs by a mile but I still plattied it
-
Personal opinion but this game was trash. Had so much potential but fell flat. Open world was cool but the story line and weird characters were just lacklustre.
ID: htr5pk7Agreed. Ubisoft has an issue right now in that none of their games feel like they have a heart or something. That, and they are entirely too bloated.
-
Why do people want every game to have long support? It was mainly a single player game and as someone who got it a couple months after launch, they’ve added so much I cannot complain. Game was good, setting was awesome, DLC content was fun too. Not sure what else people want.
ID: htrhudbNobody asked for more updates from this game
-
i forgot i owned this game
-
I dont understand why the freeroam missions are not coop.
-
Not great, not terrible. It was rapidly boring and repetitive, full of bugs at launch, story was shit, gameplay was bland. But the city was great and the game had fun moments. Typical Ubisoft disappointing game with potential actually.
-
Iirc, they said they would have a multiple year season pass type thing, similar to what AC Valhalla is getting. Not mad, though. Game was meh at best.
ID: htr4y5yI don't think they did - they just implied it was viable.
AC:V is a different scale, clearly. It's not like this game would add on a fully fledged Milton Keynes (for example), which is what AC:V is doing.
-
Writing was on the wall when this game $30 before it even released. I played the first two and completed them, I gave up playing this game after 2 hours. I feel stupid for buying this piece of shit game
-
Makes sense. Watch dogs legion did not do well commercially.
ID: htr4h2lNobody knows. WD and WD 2 sold more than 10 mil copies, WD L sold 2 mil copies in 3 days.
There’s definitely another sequel coming. No doubt about it.
-
Applaud them for trying something new.
This game had its flaws but I really enjoyed it. The Bloodlines DLC was excellent.
ID: htru696Yea people talk about their narrative choice like it’s an objectively bad thing (which is a stupid sentiment in any art form) but it’s a type of story telling that leads to really unique experiences. I actually stuck with it longer than WD2 because it was something different not another 60 hour generic storyline
ID: hts5o8cIf developers listened to Reddit & twitter comments for game design all we’d get is safe sequels and remasters.
Everyone is skeptical of change. Legion could’ve been executed better, but Watch Dogs 2 was hardly a perfect game.
