ID: htqtiagMust be nice in the UK. The last Target drop in the US lasted literally 2 minutes. PS direct sales [the last 4] were out of stock in less than 10 minutes. The only PS that's easy to find is from a scalper at outrageous mark ups.
ID: htrkdz1Not true that the only ones easy to find is from scalpers, im in the US and got my ps5 through gamestop. Got it last march. It can be tough, especially at walmart or target but like the op of the comment said follow the ps5 stock twitter accounts. Took me a week after i did so.

ID: hts92iwWe finally got one through a 1/13 online special Walmart+ Drop (Walmart's regular ps5 price $499). Meaning you had to have Walmart+ to get one and a Walmart+ free trial doesn't work. We were already Walmart+ member and have been for quite a few months now because you get free shipping for all online walmart purchases. I noticed that Walmart had a drop last month December on the 13th as well. So I wonder if monthly Walmart drops will always be on the 13th. Something to remember if you are still looking for one. Found out about the 1/13 Walmart+ drop by searching google then watching a youtube video. Making sure your shipping address and payment method is saved helps a lot because you have to be fast with adding to cart, checking out and finalizing sale.

Get the hotstock app. It’s inconvenient that you need an additional app to purchase a damn console but that’s how I was able to buy mine the other day. It alerts you when something becomes available and will link you to the page when you click the alert

Talking about how hard it is to get a PS5 has become the “how’s the weather” of video game chatter. Like many others have said, get something to notify you of restocks and be ready to checkout. You’ll have one in a week or 2.

Getting a ps5 is tough, not impossible. I got mine last march, so almost a year ago and my bf got his last February. Like another commenter said join a twitter ps5 stock page and you'll be fine. Gamestop does drops literally like every week. Ive gotten 2 emails recently about drops for their pro members and they do non member drops (how i got mine) fairly frequently. I followed Matt Swider on twitter & got to order my ps5 in the same week i followed him. Put in the work and it literally will not take long at all.
Sucks that we have to go to these lengths in the first place but with the pandemic & scalpers thats just life.

ID: hts7nqfi agree! I feel like Sony tried with the directs but i wish they could do something else to make it easier for everyone. They have occasional stock in stores but its so rare. I think something like what you said would be helpful for a lot of ppl

As much as I hated when Sony made so many crossgen games I can't deny it was the right business move, imagine if you had to have a PS5 for Miles Morales, Forbidden West, GT7 and Ragnarok... if would be way harder to get a PS5 than it already is.

Really not hard to find anymore. Walmart is constantly doing restocks if you're located in the US. Just bite the bullet, spend the $13/mo for Walmart plus subscription and you're practically guaranteed one. I got 3 for myself and family members relatively easy that way. Cancel the subscription when you've bought the console. Easy peazy. That, or keep an eye on target. They're constantly restocking as well.

This is how I got mine (in the US). It was frustrating, seemed futile and impossible, but one time, it worked. Took me two weeks. On the 16th try of trying on average one a day I got one from GameStop. Few things regarding that:
Go everywhere and make accounts and add shipping and payment info so you are ready ahead of time. Have patience because sometimes it’s just not going to work, and it takes a little bit of failing to figure out how each site works. Also, sometimes things won’t load due to traffic. The one that worked for me I finally got a bundle in the cart but couldn’t get checkout to confirm and kept trying that. Just before I gave up of keeping trying and hitting Checkout, I got an email with the statement and shipping info. It worked, but the web page for Checkout never even loaded. Kind of stuff you have to deal with so make sure to have everything set up ahead of time.
