You might still find players for Resistance on PS, not sure about other platforms.

And that's the only PvP RE game that came to my mind.

Well, there is also Dead by Daylight, which had crossover with RE few months ago, and that game is very active.

Well damn, it’s not sold separately anymore

It never was

RE5 and 6 had PVP modes, and REsistance did as well

It was always funny with the RE5 PVP because of how badly titled it was. Slayers was mostly about playing normal Mercs with a slight PvP twist. And Survivors was PvP focus and PvE interference.

I abused ladders so much in Slayers. People thought it was Survivors and would chase you, but they’d eat shotgun following up and down ladders.

You know for all it’s faults, I enjoyed Operation Raccoon City’s PVP for a hot minute.

Resistance is still pretty active at least on psn.

Not yet

Damn, here’s hoping verse is good, if it ever comes out

The pvp modes of these games tend to die really fast since, let's be honest, it's not really a series that would thrive off of such modes. The RE:Verse is coming out later this year so that I think is your best bet. It's a pvp deathmatch game.

Left for dead did it right.

I mean... It was a very different game to begin with. L4D was a multiplayer game from the getgo. Just look at all the dozens of other mainly single player games from over the years and their multiplayer modes that didn't last more than a month. It's an entirely different thing to make a game with these kinds of gameplay modes in mind, rather than just making them as an afterthought after the main product is done. To have an actually playable and interesting multiplayer mode that would grab your attention for more than a month you would have to sink in significantly more development time into it, which would push the release of the game and in a worst case scenario affect the development of the main product.

RE5 allowed you to go head to head against in a 1v1v1v1, where you selected from a range of characters for your weaponry and skillet. You'd also face the regular and common infected

RE6 has Hunt Mode. You join a random game as a monster, and hunt down the regular players

Re6's invasions had legitimate potential but the balancing is so shit it's not even worth it

First happened in Resident Evils Outbreak Games

There was Umbrella Corps, a PVP team shooter. Doubt there's much activity there, as it didn't do very well.

Although barely anybody plays it anymore, the PVP Servers for RE: Operation Raccoon City are still active.

It definitely has its faults but, Gotham City Impostors aside, it was one of the wildest multiplayers I've ever played.

You're always fighting out in the streets of Raccoon City, so there's always zombies present. With every passing amount of time that elapsed in the match without end, new tiers of NPC B.O.Ws spawned on the map to interfere with either team's firefights: Lickers<Hunters<Tyrants. And they all counted towards overall points for the team goal in team deathmatch. Granted, with the exception of the Tyrant, they were all worth less than a player kill. It was such a unique multiplayer experience.

There was even a multiplayer mode called Nemesis. It was Team Deathmatch, but there was a neutral Nemesis unit on the field. Either team could temporarily hack the Nemesis unit and reprogram it to target the enemy team and turn the tide in their favor. I miss it...

RE5 & RE Revelations 2

Heres hoping ReVerse or whatever it's called will have an active player base for a long time, I'm hopeful but given past RE games multiplayer I shouldn't imagine itll last or get much in the way of post release updates. But again I wish for both of those things, for example I'd like to imagine a long life with lots of updates and fun times, potentially extra game modes down the line I love the idea of a coop wave survival type mode in iconic resident evil locations (such that are already used for pvp maps think they showed rpd in their reveal) who knows if anything will come of it though it's been so long since they showed anything of it, hell I dont even know if it's even still up for release at any point. Played all the campaigns through again recently and am crying for more re content especially multiplayer 5 and 6 were so fun coop.
