Sounds like coil whine. You'll need to send it to Sony for replacement hardware.

If it is coil while, it's not damaging and is totally normal. The only thing that it causes is annoyance with the sound it makes. Sometimes coil whine fixes itself, but normally you need hardware replacements to get rid of it.

Edit: You can try cleaning the filters around the fan to see if that changes anything. Probably won't but always worth a shot.

Idk bro I don’t think that sounds like coil whine I have it on mine and it’s not that loud even when playing games at 120hz Sounds more like a fan issue like the sticker problem or something

Try orientating it vertically to see if that changes anything. If it is the fan, sometimes flipping it on it's side can fix the issue.

I originally thought it was the fan as well, but the change in pitch sounds like how my coil whine sounded on my PC a while ago. Not saying that it IS coil whine. Just saying that's what it sounds like to my eyes through my earbuds.

If it's fans, you can try opening the console up to see if anything is wrong. Not sure what the "sticker problem" is though

I’m trying to find repair on ps5 but it doesn’t say anything about getting it checked out. It just shows other things instead

What country do you live in?

Also would buying a duster spray be better? Or with something else to clean it?

Apparently a vacuum can be used at the dust collection spot (do a YouTube search for what I mean), but I'd personally stick with the compressed air cans.

This should point you in the right direction:

Are people serious with these posts? It sounds normal, like the disc drive revving up when you power on the console. It should quiet down in a few seconds after it’s on.

Open and clean

Sounds like typical playstation noises to me, still quieter than my PS4, thing takes lift off every time I play it.

That’s coil whine from the PS5’s poorly insulated capacitors in the power supply unit. I insulated mine but that’s just because I’ve got the experience and the tools so it’s only for professionals to do since opening a power supply unit is obviously very dangerous and you will most likely injure yourself and damage your console if you tried.

how did you insulate it? If it's that easy to fix how did Sony miss that when there was loads of other details that they didn't miss 🙁

Probably the expected rate of returns from the QC on that specific issue wasn’t enough to justify them opting for a more expensive piece/installation.

I used acetic acid free silicone. Keep in mind that not all PS5 units come from the same manufacturing plant so some units are whisper quiet while others have coil whine. It depends on what components were used. Even the fans are different. The PS5 has three different types of fans. Some fans are louder than the others. Again it’s just the luck of the draw with what you get.
