i got an aorus b450 pro mobo and im planning to buy a ryzen 3600xt on the box it says 3000 series ready but i read alot online that it needs a bios update any advice before buying ?
ID: gr9jwipThat 3000 series ready means that they did the bios update before putting the motherboard in the box, so don't worry

Where is the official link to the latest Linux drivers for amdgpu? How do I know when a new update is released? How do you even navigate to this link from amd.com?
Anyone know when amdgpu will get kernel 5.8 fixes? I'd like to get opencl working on my PN50 4500U without using pocl.

Hello guys!
Im on a long journey to figure out whats wrong with my system and cant find much on google about it.
I recently upgraded my rig and got a 5600XT Strix T6G from Asus in combination with a B550 Strix RoG Board from Asus aswell (flashed newest Bios). CPU is a Ryzen 3600x (Ryzen Power Plan is on Performance) with 16 GB GSkill Ripjaw Ram (Checked for Support from both Vendors, XMP running fine). Whole system is powerd by a 860W Corsair PSU (exchanged it with a fairly new 750W EVGA PSU for testing, changed nothing).
Everything seems fine, except for gaming performancen.
The new 5600XT performs way worse than my 8 years old 980 GTX EVGA SC.
In all games i tested i get weird stuttering because of low GPU Usage and GPU-SLCK fluctuation.
Especially in demanding games like Total War Warhammer 2 really weird stuff happens. A few seconds into a battle, where the card should go max power i get max clock and usage for a few seconds an then its clocks way down to 40 GPU usage and clocks around 1100 to 1350 Mhz for the rest of the demanding phases dropping my FPS a fair amount below 60 (funny thing is, its less worse with VSYNC on, but with uncapped FPS even if im at 110 FPS or something in that range i get FPS drops below 50-40 causing really unpleseant Stuttering). Temps are fine at all time around 50C. CPU Usage is around 30 to 40 at all times. It kinda feels like some hidden Energy Saving stuff is kicking in, i dont now what to do or try anymore. Is it just a driver problem? (made fresh installs with recomended and optional AMD drivers, changed nothing, tried to switch serveral options to on and off, leaving everything at default, changes nothing as well)
I looked up Benchmarks of my Card on Youtube and every single one was going strong with max clock and GPU Usage all the way (even if the Silent Q Bios was switched on).
Another weird thing is, that the GPU powerconsumption stays around 80-90W where it should be at 120W for a good performance, as mentioned above, changing PSUs changed nothing
Last thing i could think of was flashing the VGA Bios, but apperently for the STRIX TOP Gaming version there is none, only for the O6G version.
I really dont like bothering people on the Web with my problems, but at this point im pretty helpless.
Maybe somebody knews a good advice or workaround
Thanks in Advance
Edit: So i kinda fixed it, and it is (was) most likely still a driver Issue with complete AMD Systems.
If u suffer the same problems as i did and kinda do, i suggest the following:
-Do a fresh Win10 install from CD/USB (not only the Windows restore via Windows Software)
- Use the latest beta drivers for your Board Chipset and for Adrenalin aswell
-Flash your latest Mobo Bios
Result was :
- Most games run fine now - I get nearly optimal gpu usage/clockspeed with uncapped FPS
- Vsync is still not optimal, but thats kinda a know issue with the AMD 5000 Cards since they agressivly adust clock speed/usage to FPS so : Fixed Framerate = Big Fluctuation = Stutters. HOWEVER:
-If u kinda have to use Vsync because u have only a 60 refreshrate on your monitor you can atleas do Something : Disable Vsync, and Cap your Frames ingame (if possible) or use Raden Chill to set the FPS to a range from 140 to 144. Screen Tearing should be minimal and stutters should be bette
Thats all i could find after 2 Weeks of Troubleshooting.
Sidenote: I read so much troubleshooting Threads and i made an observation: Most people with Problems have a combination of a 3600/3600x with any AMD 5000 range GPU. Seeing how my problems got better with beta drivers, it might be completly fine in the futer with more Bios Updates and love done to the Driver. So if u plan to buy a new system and want a AMD GPU in the 5000 range, stay away from the Ryzen 3600/3600x, u will most likely run into trouble

Is anyone else having issues with sharpening. im thinking of this
it was basically necessary for me in warzone otherwise the game is just too blurry. it worked in csgo also but it would cause crashes/non starts after the trust factor update. but now it just doesnt work at all. i toggled on and off, fiddled with the slider. reloaded driver. reinstalled. updated... but to no avail, it just refuses to work. im stuck using monitors sharpening which doesnt come close to the driver one -
THE PROBLEM: I see benchmarks of this card getting 400 fps in almost all games at 1080p low or high settings. but I never get too far past 200, and often barely see 180. my 1660ti offered the same 1080p performance.... at 1080p I often see only a 500-800 MHZ clock rate, and the GPU will only Draw 50-70 watts of power.my 4k performance on the card sees maximum power draw and a 2200mhz clock. but again, the performance there is great, i see 140-180 fps

Tested R7 5800x on cinebench r23, got low MC and SC scores
The results from running cinebench r23 on the R7 5800x were MC: 13368 and SC: 1558.
I was researching online the stock scores and people were saying that their MC were between 14000 and 15000, which has made me quite paranoid since I'm really not an expert in this.

Summary of Issue:
Updated to the 5809 BIOS, updated to the most recent chipset drivers, and started getting a BSOD for memory_management. I ran the memory diagnostic tool and it said there was a hardware issue... which considering I've never had an issue today I'm guessing isn't actually the physical hardware itself.
System configuration:
Motherboard: Asus Prime x470-PRO
CPU: Ryzen 2600x
PSU: Corsair 850w
System Memory: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB (3200) 2 x 8GB Intel XMP 2.0 running at 2133MHz
OS: Windows 10 64-bit 10.0.18363
Driver: AMD Chipset Driver V2.09.28.509
Background Apps: Discord, Steam, Firefox, Hyperx Ngenuity, Logitech Ghub, VLC Media Player
Steps to Reproduce:
It seems like it happens mainly if I have too many tabs open in Firefox. Firefox tabs have started crashing since the update as well.
This could be a waste of a post, maybe the problem will fix itself once I manage to find a 5000 series processor to put in the motherboard. Just thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas. I could go back to the last BIOS and see if the issue is gone, but I heard it's possible to brick your motherboard doing that so I'd rather not risk it.
ID: ghqo0rqFirstly you're not even running your ram at the XMP speeds. It's possible that your ram is faulty and you only happened to notice it now or it just recently died.
I would boot into memtest86 and just let it run overnight. 1 error is 1 error too many. It should run without a single error. If there are errors, I would first look into an RMA for the ram and get a replacement kit.
ID: ghqqq6rI am aware it's underclocked, it crashes a lot less that way. If it really died just when I updated BIOS and some drivers, that'd be a pretty big coincidence. Guess I'll try memtest tonight.

Hi,
So ive been running my setup for about 9 months now, i have been using a 2070 Super as GPU up until yesterday with no issues.Yesterday i swapped that for a RX 6800 and for some reason the 2560x1440p resolution is missing from Windows (and ofc from games too)It kinda feels like a bad driver compability with my screen or something...maybe due to 120hz OC mode not being detected properly?
Also noticed that the VRAM seems to be running in 2000mhz all the time as mentioned alot in the latest driver thread - no issues with that except a bit of extra heat i guess. The fix for this seems to be to adjust my refreshrate to 100hz, then it immediately lowers usage to pretty much zero load?!.
What ive tested so far:Reinstalled Drivers the "normal" way and also with DDU, also removed old Nvidia drivers with DDUTried following drivers: 20.12.1 and 20.11.2 (20.12.1 twice between reinstallations)
Resolutions that i can see and use: 3440x1440,1920x1200, 1980x1080 -and below.Edit: managed to add a custom resolution of 2560x1440p at 100hz, after that windows added all supported 2560 resolutions - including 120hz which seems to be working ingame.

ID: ginhqfwI've been having the same issue, different hardware. It seems to be happening on both of my all amd PCs. I have tried everything, drivers, bios, power configs, regedits, swapped all my ram around. Nothing seems to fix it. My audio also crackles when these stutters happen. I'll straight up pay someone $20 if they can help me fix this.

Summary: I've recently finished up my new PC build. I was trying to get re-size BAR to work and went down a deep rabbit hole... Long story short, I wiped my SSD and put it in GPT, then reinstalled windows in UEFI so that I would be able to boot with CSM turned off. When I went to enable re-size BAR, there was no "enable" option, only "auto". My question is - Am I missing something? Does auto enable Smart Access memory to work? Do I require some additional driver? I have seen other guides showing how to enable it and even with the same motherboard it shows the option to "enable" re-size BAR support.
I've got the latest BIOS for my X570 AORUS Master and there was also another setting above re-size BAR support I was told I would need to enable for this to all work, which I did as well. Something about 4G something.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Yeah, that's the right setting for it. Verified it works. Go to windows "Device Manager" and Display Adapters -> (Insert GPU here). Right click -> Properties. In Resources, you should see "large memory range" and "memory range" under resource type.
Hope that helps!

so I got a 5800x the other day, upgrading from a 2700x and so far the boost in power is amazing. FPS is up 20-30 in CoD and my 4x8 sticks of 3200 ram can run at full speed. understandably, this CPU is gonna run a bit hotter than the old CPU, I'm just wondering if I'm experiencing the same results as others.
My idle temps range from about 45- 60 when it spikes which is sorta frequent, my fans ramp up in speed every time. gaming is typically around 70 or so, but again can jump as high as 80 or more, particularly when loading into something. I'm running Cinebench now and reading in the upper 80s.
does this sound about average? or should I be doing something to take the temps down to avoid damage? thanks!

6800xt reboot-looplock on resume from sleep
I have a 6800xt, upgraded from 1080ti. Rest of system is 3700x, C6H, 4x8 3200C14 flareX. Up to date win10, chipset, radeon.
I DDU'd from safe mode after getting the card, and while it works mostly fine, it is very frustrating that randomly the PC will boot-loop lock if it resumes from sleep. This needs a hard power cycle to restart.
This always also resets any radeon changes, meaning it won't boost high because the stupid default fan profile keeps it roasting away but very quiet.
Fixing the sleep-resume bug is really what I need help with. Google-fu results seem to generally be around laptops and disabling hibernation - there is no hibernation setting for my system, maybe it got disabled in a win10 update? I've also tried the powershell commands for this, but the problem persists.
Thank you for your help on this..

So I bought the radeon 6800 xt and installed it on my rig. Everything works fine until I boot up a game then my pc would shut it self down and then it will start again. Here is my rig:
I tried Destiny2, warzone, it does the same. On destiny2 it will shut down after I choose a character. On warzone tho, when I load into a lobby it seems to be fine during the warm up. But after the game starts the pc shuts down.
I’ve been told a lot that it is probably a psu issue but I wanna make sure before I spend money on a new one.
I really appreciate it if someone could help me out here

RX 580 underperforming and performance spikes So, i noticed this in some games and i will use swbf2 and csgo as an example of my issues.
In swbf2, i only got about 45 fps max and gpu usage went from 100 to 0 to 30 and so on and frames went from 8 to 0 when the usage was low to 45 when high. In csgo, apparently it runs at 220 fps, but it feels as if it was running at 20 fps there are a lot of stutters that also happen in other games. And the third problem, sometimes it just drops signal to monitor and i have to close and open it manually, restart doesn't do anything.

So I upgraded my gpu from GIGABYTE 1080 to AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT and suddenly I'm getting low fps on almost every game I play. On Destiny 2 I'm getting around 50-60 fps in open areas. On COD Warzone the fps is like 70ish. On monster hunter it gets down to 45 when I'm in Seliana. These values are at 1440 but it doesn't matter even if I lower the settings or if I set the resolution to 1080. nothing chages. I tried downgrading to an older gpu driver but it did not help.

I have two computer's, one has a 5000 series chip in it. Can I install the bios update software from the non-5000 series computer and then move the flash-drive over to the 5000 series pc?

Hi all,
I think I've read so many conflicting things right now I don't know what to think anymore.. so coming to this sub for some guidance.
The parts I have * 3080 FE * 5800x
I'm looking for: - MOBO: my current shortlist is between: MSI MEG B550 UNIFY ATX AM4 Motherboard OR MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM4
RAM: My current thinking is: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory. HOWEVER there is SO many model types, I don't know what to do. I've heard F4-3600C16Q-32GTZN is the best, but I cannot find this anywhere. I chose this memory because I've read good things around its performance, also I like its look. Any advice would be very much appreciated, this is my first gaming PC for over 5 years. My intention is not to OC, just the simple XMP Profile 1 yada.
For those that want to see more of the build I'm putting together:
Thanks Tyles

So I currently have a problem with the game Destiny 2 where when I switch on or off of it, I will get black screened for a couple of seconds. I believe it has something to do with the AMG enhanced sync but I can't figure out how to turn it on and off. I've looked it up but the place where it says the option is it isn't there.

black screen with MSI 6800XT
I am getting black screen at random, and usually when I am idle in windows 10 or webbrowsing.
I have a 80+ gold 800w PSU. This is what I have tried so far:
-clean win10 install -clean amd driver install different versions -setting my 6800xt to gen 3 in bios -updated chipset, all bios drivers etc -downclocked cpu and memory
I am still getting black screen totally at random. Sometimes three times in 10 minutes, sometimes once in 2 hours.
-
Im experiencing very high CPU temps. Even in idle it sits at around 55C and even bumps up to 65-70C when starting some programs like chrome. Sometimes almost 80C. But after 10 minutes running Cinebench R23 it just reached 65C. I googled for a bit and found several forum threads of people having the same problem. I appears to be some kind of Motherboard bug beacause its quiet random when the temps rise.
My specs: Ryzen 9 5950X, Kraken x73 AIO, MSI x570 Unify, 32GB 3600 RAM, RTX3080, Corsair RM850x PSU.
Does anyone have the same problem or is familiar with it? Thanks in advance

Ever since 20.11.1+ once they renamed the freesync to Freesync premium I cannot use freesync anymore in combination with vsync on my Vega64, the fps keeps jumping between strange values mostly between 80 and 120. Same goes for a friend of mine that also has a Vega64.
If I disable vsync the problem is gone, but I can also disable freesync and the problem is gone. I've been reporting this issue for a while know (Months) trough AMD Bug Report tool and i'm afraid no one caress enough. I use vsync for not competitive games allot and it's frustrating.
This is how it looks like on 20.11.1:
And this happens on all drivers after 20.11.2 and newer:
System 1:Monitor: Gigabyte AORUS AD27QDGPU: Vega64
Friends System 2:Monitor: Samsung C27HG70GPU: Vega64
I tried DDU, Factory cleanup Windows re-installs however due issue on two separate systems this must be a driver bug. A workaround to eliminate stutters is either to disable vsync or freesync completely.
Edit: Fixed Links
Best Regards,
ID: gl2nyh8Exactly the same problem here.
Using v-sync to cap casual games at 144 hz isn't possible anymore in combination with freesync. Turning v-sync off results in having 400+ fps (above the 144 hz refreshrate of the monitor) for casual games, which imho makes no sense, in these kind of games, other than stressing my graphics card for no reason.
Problem is apparent with all the drivers that came after 20.11.1Games in which it's very noticeable:
Hades
Ori and the will of the WispsWhen I switch Hades to Vulkan mode: everything works fine, so the problem manifests itself (assumption) in DirectX games.
Hope this can be addressed / fixed in a future driver release.

No, automatic will perform at the factory defaults which are generally crap.
Manual tuning is the way to go, and newer AMD GPUs are better off undervolted if anything else because they'll run hot and loud and potentially overheat otherwise.

I switched to 4k monitor from fullHD and noticed that my browsers start stuttering a lot. After playing around I realized stuttering stops once I launch a game or photo raw editor so I realized the GPU is running in too low power state in Windows. How can I increase the minimum power state so my generic apps don't lag? I tried Performance - Tuning - Manual, Enabling GPU tuning and tried raising Min Frequency but it didn't help. I wouldn't expect GPU running so slowly that my browsers stutter. Any help appreaciated.
edit: already tried factory reset driver, did not help

Hi fellow AMD Fans, first of all my system looks like this:
- aurus x470 ultra gaming
- ryzen 5 2600 @ 4 Ghz
- 16G crucial ballistix @ 3200 Mhz
- MSI rtx 2070 Gaming Z- 1 nvme SSD
- 1 Sata SSD
- 1 Sata HDDi am in the process of benching and overclocking my gpu as i noticed that it is running at: PCIe v3.0 x16 (8.0 GT/s) @ x4 (2.5 GT/s)
this means i dont have enough pci lanes? my gpu is in the top slot and as far as i know my ryzen 5 2600 has 20 pcie lanes:
gpu : 16 lanes
NVME SSD : 4 Lanes=20 lanes?
this adds up to 20 or am i seeing something wrong here?
thanks in advance friends, this coul maybe explain why i have been dissapointed by the 2070 's performance...

Worms World Party Remastered bluescreens my pc when disabling vsync; whatever lastest version October 13th had in Radeon Software; and my pc specs are as shown here on PC part picker. video of it in action: you can briefly see the specific error code as well. background apps include Steam, Discord, and OneDrive.
any other questions, let me know, but I don't remember the settings used at the time -
Definitely related to the OS or drivers if disabling v-sync for the one game does that.
That STOP code is one of the most common codes for bluescreens with Windows 10. It can be caused by pretty much anything, with unstable OC, bad drivers, and an OS issue being more common causes.

Should I RMA my Crosshair VIII Dark Hero based on this suspect memory instability?
I have an issue with my ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero where it will not boot with default XMP settings with two samples of a highly binned G.Skill 3600MHz Cl15 B die kit (F4-3600C15D-16GTZ) that I have otherwise used effortlessly and flawlessly for years now.
The issue occur regardless of the processor (occurs with either my Ryzen 9 3950X or Ryzen 9 5950X) that I have installed in the motherboard.
The issue occurs regardless of the BIOS release flashed and I have tried all of them on the website, from version 2601 through 3204.
The memory kit will only boot as high as a memory clock rate 3000 MHz with the XMP timings that would be applied to its default higher 3600 MHz—again only at 3000 MHz—if I set the memory voltage to 1.45V. Clock speeds any higher than 3000 MHz will fail as will voltages lower than 1.45V after the memory training cycle has occurred displaying a system instability message.
Note that both samples of this kit (F4-3600C15D-16GTZ) I have on hand have worked effortlessly out of the box with XMP settings in previous X570-I boards with either a 3400G, 4750G, or 3950X in those boards.
I have been told by several overclocking experts in the community that it is likely a board issue since this memory kit, based on my prior experience, easily clocks to 3600 MHz at stock XMP timings on my older lower-end board. Based on their experience with this premium B die kit (F4-3600C15D-16GTZ), it should easily work again here minimally with my 3950X, which already seen working previously with the same two samples of the kit in my outgoing X570-I.
Gut check: Should I RMA my Dark Hero motherboard at this point given the aforementioned information?

I did my first PC build a few days ago and I got lucky enough to grab a 5600x.
I watched tutorials and followed a specific video to put on my aio (EK-360AIO) I'm confident it's on properly and there was preapplied thermal paste.
My CPU temps are kind of concerning as they idle around 40-45 and easily jump to 50-60 when opening an application or just randomly while I'm browsing.
While under heavy load (1440p 165hz max settings on COD warzone) my CPU sat around 70-80 with my AIO fans getting incredibly loud to compensate.
Any advice / help for a new builder ?
-
Does the AIO make any other unusual noises other than normal pump humming? Ryzen does sometimes idle at slightly higher temps due to stock settings. But the temps during gaming are slightly higher than expected.I would recommend undervolting.
-
I got my 5950x a few days ago and everything was working fine until today. I noticed when multi core process is involved, all cores get stuck at 546.7 mhz. Everything is stock and no OC or PBO is applied. My ram is running at 3600mhz cl16. Here are things I have tried:
Enable PBO: still get stuck at 546mhz Change power plan to different modes Reset bios to default re-install AMD chipset driver (motherboard is X570 Taichi)
I did try all core OC and it works fine in that mode like all cores run at whatever frequency I set. I tried 4600mhz so it seems that its not a hardware problem but rather some weird state in Windows or something like that. Any help is appreciated.

Error 1603 radeon rx 580, AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, B450 Tomahwak Max
Hi all, I have been trying to reinstall the AMD drivers but keep getting error 1603, i have tried everything on the AMD support page for that specific error but have had no luck. I have also tried using DDU while in safe mode.
With both my monitors plugged into the GPU it gives me a duplicated display but only one monitor shows up in windows settings. When looking at device manager the GPU seems to come up under Other Devices as a Video Controller(VGA Compatible) and the monitor comes up as generic monitor. I have tried removing these drivers and rebooting the system but have had no luck.
All my docs, pictures and videos are on the drive the OS is on as I've seen that having them on another drive can cause issues.
These are all the error messages I seem to be getting in the install log

Looking for some help setting fan curve for 3700X with Wraith Prism and MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon
So I had to update my bios to get the CPU to run and it's running good. Showing boosts of up to 4.3Ghz. But the bios update based on what I can see completely removed the ability to set custom fan curves as it loads a very basic bios instead of the click bios. In research I found this was evidently the way MSI could support the newer chips on this board. I went for the 3700x specifically because I didn't want to get a new board yet but now I'm thinking I may have seriously screwed up here.
When I load up MSI Command Center to set a fan curve boost still works just fine. But if I LOAD a saved curve, it locks the CPU to 3.6ghz. Even if it's the exact same curve I just set manually. If I load it, it locks the clock.
Because I can't set the fan curve in the bios I'm at a loss of what to do here. Default fan curve is way to loud and I really don't want to have to set this manually every single time I boot my PC and I've looked all over the bios and maybe i'm an idiot but I can't find any possible way to alter fan curve or settings in this bios.

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and I'm also new to AMD. Recently I bought the cpu in the title because of the gpu vega that is enough for my casual gaming for this year. I decided to buy the mobo on the title but when I mounted all my setup I had no video. The pc starts, led of case, fan and so on, but no video.
My setup is: Mobo: X570 Aorus Elite Cpu: Ryzen 5 3400G AIO: Arctic Liquid 120mm Ram: G.Skill 16 GB (8x2) RGB 3600 MHz (i checked the code in QVL) or HyperX 16 GB (8x2) RGB 3200 Mhz (code no present in the QVL) SSD: Samsung Evo 860 1TB (installed windows and all my stuff in my last setup) I have also a SSD M.2 Sabrent 250GB because I want to switch the SO inside PSU: Itek 650W plus 80 gold (japan capacitor) Case: Aerocool Ore frontal Mesh
Ps. For the moment no GPU, infact i bought the 3400G in order to wait a restock and a decrease of prices of new gpu.
I suspected that my mobo had some issues because I red that this mobo is ready for my cpu, or am I wrong? So I provided to replace with another one that will come in a few days. I still decided to ask someone that know more about me in case I am going to have the same issue with the new mobo.
Thank you and sorry if I made mistakes.

AMD 5700XT Continuous Green Screen Crashing
Hey Guys!
I'm a HUGE AMD fan boi, That's all I run. And I was super stoked to get the OG AMD Radeon 5700XT(not a partner card).
However, anything after the Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.12.1 Software... it gives me a green screen of death within 60 seconds of loading up my computer. No matter how many different drivers I try.
I see today the 21.2.1 Driver just came out, and I was wondering if anyone has fixed this for themselves? I've been trying to play VR with this PC and it just crashes on me.
I really want to fix this, and the card is out of warranty, and I have tried DDU and reinstalling easily a hundred times. Just no luck with it at all.
Any ideas? I'll gladly paypal or venmo someone who can help me as this is getting old and I can't work with it.
Y'all are incredible! Thank you!
Motherboard: ASUS TUF x470-Plus Gaming CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x PSU: Corsair SF750W 80+ Platinum System Memory: 32GB Dual Channel 1330 MHz GPU (VBIOS): AMD RX 5700XT 8GB (VBIOS: 017.001.000.042.012566) OS (Version): Windows 10 x64 Driver: Radeon Software Adrenalin 26.20.13031.20012 (Adrenalin 19.12.1) -
Can you note the voltages and power consumption with the working driver and compare it to a new one? This crash is probably not a driver issue but an issue with hardware instability with newer boost behavior
Also try throttling the card to lower clocks on a new driver and see what happens

Hey guys!
So my CPU cooler is noctua l9x65-SE. I guess it might be the problem. My idle temperature is around 50. In games it goes up to around 85 and while playing Cyberpunk it can go to 95. I'm planning to buy Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. B. I also ordered 3 noctua 120mm case fans. I already have two cooler master 800 rpm fans that came with my case (cooler master silencio 550) but I think they suck. What do you guys think might be the problem?
Already checked if i screwed in the cooler correctly, and reapplied thermal paste. Also i recognized that the case itself gets very very hot
-
Cpu's get hot these days.... Need a big hunk of metal and good airflow.
You chinced out on the first cooler, not much else to say.

So i have a b450-F motherboard with a ryzen 5 3600. The system doesnt boot. The LED on the motherboard starts but nothing else. CPU fan doesnt spin and the monitor isnt posting. I read somewhere that outdated bios could be the issue?

Does the board have a bios flashback feature, or do you have a Bristol Ridge/Zen/Zen+ CPU available?

Just a hunch since this seemed to fix issues with the new RDNA2 cards for some people:
Make sure CSM is disabled in BIOS, and that both 4G decoding and Resizeable BAR support are enabled.
-
I'm glad it's working out for you! Out of curiousity, do you recall what your SBIOS options were when you were crashing?
Curious for future users and letting AMD development know on this case, thanks!

I am literally worried after spending so much money to upgrade and running into these issues.
Is it defective CPU or BIOS issue which will be fixed later?
-
First thing to do is to shut down the PC and disconnect it from power. Get in there and remove the CMOS battery, wait a minute, and put it back in in order to reset CMOS.
Then only enable XMP and see if anything changes. Also try without XMP and with less RAM installed to rule out the potential that it's caused by conflicts between the CPU and RAM. 3000 series and 5000 series are different architectures so they'll yield potentially different results with the same RAM.

I am running NiceHash with a ryzen 7 5800x and Radeon rx 6900xt. My cpu & gpu temperatures are consistently 61 C under full load with my graphics card overclocked fully for VRAM and from 2500 -> 2756 MHz clock.
Can anyone help me understand if it’s safe to boost to the limit clock (3000 MHz) if I have an 850 W power supply and have the power limit all the way up since I don’t pay for my power? I am having trouble finding anything online about boosting this card, and I’m not sure how bad it is to boost it all the way.

im Upgrading from an intel i5 7600k to a ryzen 5 5600x. Naturally got a new Mobo, MSI B550-A pro which will require a bios update to work with the 5600x. can i use the single usb i have to both update the bios and install windows 10? i know i need to format the drive to fat32, will that delete the windows 10 installation media i have on there? thank you for your help
-
Yes (if it has USB bios flashback option). Yes.
-
You might not be able to have other things stored on the drive when it's used as an installation media. So update BIOS first, and then make the install media.
-
Amdkdag.sys keeps crashing.
Driver is latest (22.xx.x). DDU ran prior to installation.
RX5700 XT. No OC, all settings are disabled (Enhanced Sync, RiS, etc).
I can't play any games at all. It'll just crash and reboot.
What do?
-
Try disabling CSM in BIOS and then enable 4G decoding and Resizeable BAR in BIOS.
Also, rollback to whatever the latest recommended driver is if you're using the optional driver.

Same here. FPS drops after 10+ mins playing! Temps are around 65-70. Little by little I hate AMD more and more.

Submit bug report. It usually takes a pile of reports to get the ball rolling...and this is AMD so...
Finding drivers that work for specific titles / uses is the name of the game and swapping back and forth is the only strategy you have.

Hello everyone I just got my new monitor in the mail I will link the model of it HERE I just got it hooked up last night and I'm having issues with the monitor randomly black screening for a few seconds then comes back on. Its mainly when Freesync is on but ive seen it do it while turned off as well. I am using the included HDMI 2.0 cable and I'm running the monitor at 1440p and 144hz. Sometimes the monitor will work just fine with freesync enabled and will let you play a game for a while like it did last night but i sit down at my desk this morning and its back to black screening. Ive tried different games and it seems to pick and chose. Any help would be appreciated I'm running the most up to date radeon software and drivers for my RX 580 8gb.

Download some drivers from 5 months ago or older. Download DDU. Enter safe mode. Run DDU. Enter normal mode. Install older drivers that aren't wank.

Hello I own an Acer Nitro 5 laptop and recently the screen has been going through major issues. Everything is very dim and yellow. In the worst case the quality becomes very pixelated and transparent. Attached below are pictures and videos of the issues
For the pictures, I was fortunate enough to have a friend with the exact same laptop of me. By sitting the laptops side by side I was able to take photos that clearly showed the dim corrupt colors of the screen.
Link to color corruption:
For the transparency issues I was able to take videos of the problem occuring in real time. For those who prefer to see pictures instead of the video I also took screenshots.
Link to screenshots:
Link to videos :
Summary of Issue:
-The screen is very dim
-the screen quality also gets pixelated and blurry
-everything is darker and slightly more yellow
-the screen also has "burn in" where everything is transparent
-after images of the desktop and applications are always in front of each other
Specifications:
-Acer Nitro 5 AN515 Laptop
-Processor, AMD Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx, 2300 Mhz
-Built in GPU, Vega 10
-Dedicated GPU, GeForce GTX1650
-OS, Windows 10 Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042
Most Recent WindowsUpdate:
-February 22, 2021
-Name of update, "KB4023057"
Additional Context:
-temperature regularly rises to 65 degrees with random web surfing
-temperature jumps to 90 degrees when gaming
-original temperature were lower when laptop was newly bought,
-50 degrees web surfing, 70 degrees light gaming
Current Situation:
-my screen is now just darkened and slightly yellow after shutting down the laptop for several hours
-I stress tested my laptop with different games
-Immediately after CPU temperatures increase the screen problems worsen. Everything becomes tinted yellow, the transparency is so high that you can see every app on top of each other, and it becomes extremely dark
-Its possible that this is related to software and I am hoping it is. At the moment though all signs point to hardware.

Hi, currently have an Asrock rx 570 series and recently i've been experiencing some issues in regards to it blacking out(flickering) for almost 1-2 seconds then comes back up with the screen being green, like the whole screen is green,(for bout half a sec) before coming back to the normal screen.
im pretty sure its my gpu since the monitor i use is something i use as well for work(plugged to my laptop+using same hdmi=no issues).
im updated to 21.2.3(latest as of the moment). I've also done some quick fixes i saw online (i.e changing display to YCbCr 4:4:4 pixel format and while it did lessen it, i still do experience it from time to time.
note: from what i know, the gpu i got is the store model one. so it isnt like fresh out of the box(yes im cheap, dont @me), though it wasnt really been used heavily though.
my mobo is an Aorus B550 elite and is using a ryzen 5 3600, if that helps.
any adv would do, and maybe also some settings that i could change since im not really that techy and dont have that much knowledge for intensive troubleshooting. and im broke af, so pls no adv to just "get a better one", not unless u think i got a brick gpu.
thanks.

If other driver versions yield the same result then RMA if possible, card could be going bad, a common problem with Polaris and Vega GPUs.

RX 6000 owners, need help with something.
Problem: On Windows 10, when using Blender I get some ugly flickering with some mesh highlights in Edit/Weight Paint mode. And in SUPERHOT, the hand + the weapon you carry flickers too. But this issue doesn't happen on AMD's Linux drivers.
Here's a video showcasing the issue:
Can anyone confirm this?
Edit: P.S. This never happened on my older RX 580 4GB. (On Blender)

I'm been using my rx 5700XT to mine and keep monitoring temperatures, power throw, etc through HWInfo.
One sensor that I can't understand is GPU SOC TDC Limit. It has been sitting at 118.4% which is above 100% (duh). Is this ok?
If you could explain it to me what it means I would be grateful.

Ryzne 5 2600 extreme temperature spikes
I have a Ryzen 5 2600, and i have problems with hight temperature spikes. In idle the cPU runs with 40-50 degree, but during gaming i experience temperature spikes up to 70 degree within 1 second, with only 30% CPU utilization.
My CPU cooler is a beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4, and I already applied fresh thermal paste. I know how to do it. I already repasted my Laptop CPU and GPU, as well as my desktop graphics card (RTX 2070). Now they run about 10-20 degree cooler than before the repaste.
The main problem is when i want to overclock the Ryzen 5 2600. I started with 4GHz at 1-35 Volt. And when i run prime95 (small FFTs), i get an instant temperature jump from 40 degree to 89 degree. This doesnt seem normal to me.
I hope someone can help me figuring out whats going on.

Recently I have been having screen hangs/crashes where the screen will and audio will cutout for a few seconds then return to normal. This happens while doing normal computing as well as gaming. I am running a Asus Tuf 5700xt, Asus Tuf x570 wifi, 3600x, and 16gb 3200mhz ram all running at stock speeds and voltages with the latest drivers. I only started having this issue about two weeks ago so I was wondering whether other people are having this issue and if so whether they have a fix for it. I'm going to try to go down to PCIe 3.0 and will edit this post if that helps.

Only 1c/2th active on my r5600x, msi 570 motherboard. Tried to enable core control to 5 in BIOS, didn't fix it. Using Cpu-z to check, windows shows same thing. Can anyone please help?
Edit: reset the BIOS and there's still only 1c/2th showing
Edit: exchanged the 5600x with a 2700 and same result; 1c/2th being used instead of the 6/12 & 8/16. It's the motherboard.

Hey, I got a laptop with a 4500u+iGPU. Now, I noticed some bugs in rocksmith and a couple other games. So, I did the needful and installed the newest drivers. This fixed everything, until Windows decided to install the older, lenovo version version of the driver, instead.
Is there any easy way to make win10 not install my amd drivers automatically? I don't want to disable all driver updates, just the amd specific ones

Custom eyefinity setup help!
I have 4 monitors running of one r9 390 gpu, arranged in a 3 on bottom 1 on top layout,
I want to use eyefinity across the bottom three and not include the top however the latest drivers don't let me do that.
Anyone know how to do custom eyefinity setups?

I need some guidance on BIOS stuff etc
Ok so 15 months ago I ordered a bunch of parts and summoned my child. Main components are 3800x, rx 5700xt and an ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING
So when I assembled I my computer I was under the impression that I wouldn’t need to worry about BIOS stuff and motherboard drivers because I heard it somewhere. I know nothing about BIOS or motherboards and I’m wondering if there are any sort of drivers or settings my setup could be lacking currently. I do have the newest gpu drivers. My pc is performing like a beast but certain things seems at fault.
Don’t know if this is the right place to ask this. But any suggestions or advice would be appreciated, and if you can’t help me I’d love if someone could refer me to somewhere I can get advice. Thanks.
Also if you need more info on my system or settings just tell me how and I will gladly do so.

Summary of Issue
This is my first Ryzen build and my question is whether or not the below timings are normal. I'm trying to achieve standard 1:1:1 relationship between Infinity Fabric, Memory Controller, and Memory Clock but I am wondering if the ~40mhz delta is an issue or not (screenshot and description of timings below).
As it stands my Infinity Fabric clock is set to 1800mhz, Memory Controller Clock 1800mhz, but Memory Clock is between 1763mhz ~ 1780mhz (changes every time I boot) but never approaches 1800mhz.
Karhu Memtest passes overnight test with 0 errors (10,000%+ coverage) so I believe the memory/OC is stable; but why the ~40mhz delta? Is it a timing misconfiguration or am I just being too anal about this?
System Configuration
Motherboard: AsRock B550 Taichi; Bios version 1.70 (latest)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x PSU: Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold System Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro (AMD Ryzen Ready) 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 4000 (PC4 32000) Desktop Memory Model CMW32GX4M4Z4000C18 OS (Version): Windows 10 Pro x64 20H2 Applications: HWInfo64, Ryzen Master, Karhu Memtest, Ryzen DRAM CalculatorAttachments and Links
Screenshot of timings as reported by HWInfo64 v6.40:
Thank you for your time.

Could be chalked up to the FSB running lower; the "default" is 100 MHz but it's automatic and can go lower, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to drop that low. You could force it to run at the standard 100 MHz but it may cause instability with your memory OC and need more voltage.

Summary of Issue
MSI Afterburner does not change from 79% Fan Speed. Whether I use an adjusted fan curve or the "Auto" fan speed setting, I do not see any change in Fan Speed % regardless if the GPU is idle or running in game. However, when I look at Fan Speed in the Radeon Software, fan speed is clearly changing between idle and in-game. Is MSI Afterburner not known to work well or read fan speeds properly? Are there other suggested apps to monitor fan speed? Or should I rely on fan speeds shown in the Radeon Software?
System Configuration
Motherboard: ASUS TUF X570-PLUS GAMING (Wi-Fi) CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x GPU: 6800 XT (XFX Merc)
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSI Afterburner. Rebooting, etc. Fan speed still doesn't change from 79%.

Ryzen 5 5600x, dark rock 4 cooler, mx-4 thermal compound, msi b550m mortar.
Why is my cpu temp 39-44C while idling. Changing my fan settings made it worse. I started seeing 44C even when just browsing the web.
After some use I started smelling really hot plastic. I got anxious and turned the PC off.
-
Out of curiosity what is the temperature of the room you're running in? I feel like 39 - 44 idle isn't too high, and could be explained by a warm room. If you think your changes to fan settings have made things worse then I'd start by reverting those and seeing if that gets you back to the lower range.
-
I bought a Ryzen 5 3600 which comes with pre-applied paste on the cooler. I stuck it on the CPU and plugged it into my motherboard only to realise my motherboard isn't compatible. I disassembled the CPU/cooler and put it back into the box.
Will the pre-applied paste dry out from this? I already have paste smeared onto the CPU.
Thanks!
-
I’d re-paste it every time it’s removed
-
Make sure you clean the top of the cpu with rubbing alcohol, and not anything else.

5700xt low fps in Warzone
Computer Type: Desktop GPU: Sapphire Nitro + 5700 xt CPU: RYZEN 7 3700X 8 CORE 16 THREADS Motherboard: MSI B450 Mortar Max
RAM: 16GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 3200MHZ CL16 (XMP)
PSU: Corsair HX1200
Case: Lian Li PC O-11
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 PRO 20H2
GPU Drivers: Latest
Chipset Drivers: ?
Background Applications: DISCORD, CHROME
Description of Original Problem: 5700xt is meant to be getting lots of fps in warzone especially at my settings and so I don't know as to why mine may do this. I have a factory oc card on the performance bios so am not sure why.
Troubleshooting: I've changed my settings around to make sure that it is well optimised and best in game settings for fps at 1080p low. I've done a ddu and gotten the lastest drivers as well as a few months ago I did a fresh bios install on my motherboard. I run the GPU on a twin 6+2 and so not sure if purchasing 2 8pin would be good but I don't see why it's gonna buff performance that much.
;
Any help would be vastly appreciated!!!! Cheers

I have the same Problems with my 5600XT, so far im really disappointed. The Card refuses to go above 50 percent GPU Usage, and stays at 40 to 50 Watts power consumption and downclocks to under 1000 MHZ in various scenarios.
I literally tried everything humanly possible to fix this, including changing PSUs and Motherboards. Seems still to be a driver Fuckup. Never buying AMD GPUs again
-
Have you tried editing the ini file?
Also are you using two cables from your PSU? 6+2 are fine but if you have two separate cables that is recommended by PSU manufacturers.

- Wraith cooler problem -
Hi, I recently bought a ryzen 3600XT and an MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS ATX, I'm using the cpu stock cooler but when I play the fans they start spinning very fast and they make a lot of noise, is there any way to adjust them so you don't get too messy? Thanks in advance.
-
Use BIOS to adjust the fan curve, or get a quieter air cooler from the be quiet! brand. They make a lot of coolers that are better than most brands and models with noise pollution.
The Wraith coolers are rather cheaply made and are only designed to run the CPU at stock with the goal of keeping it from shutting down, especially the newer Stealth and Spire coolers which had manufacturing switched from Cooler Master to a cheaper manufacturer to cut cost.

I own two 3950x, but the new one I just purchased is failing to do my rams basic xmp of 3600mhz. Its not the other components as I used both cpus in the same mobo.
It black screen crash+reboots on cinebench or Aida64 if the XMP is set. I can only assume this is an issue with the IF as I know the ram is fine, because again, the other CPU has no trouble. Is there a way to confirm this, so I know if I should just get a replacement? Is there some voltage I should raise/lower to deal with it?
I know its not temps, aida64 reports the crash happening within like 20 seconds, and last reported a like 81C temp. I also had hwinfo open and could see the temps of everything.

Could have lost the silicon lottery in that the IMC (and SOC) needs more voltage than what the motherboard is giving it based on the XMP profile.
SOC voltage affects the integrated memory controller of the CPU. Try raising it from the default 1.1 incrementally until it's stable. You don't want to run the SOC too high (max is 1.2 according to AMD IIRC) because it'll make the IMC (and the CPU) hotter and it's not good for the memory controller.

Compatibility with the XMP profile gets thrown out the window when using more than one kit. The motherboard will only validate for one copy of a given kit, so if you want 4 sticks, look for kits on the QVL that have 4 sticks, but even then... ...Most AM4 motherboards have a "daisy chain" type topology, meaning you overclock better with 2 sticks instead of 4. Your motherboard probably has that topology and not T topology, which is the opposite, working better with 4 sticks. This is probably why you're having issues.
In the past with Ryzen systems, I had a single 2 stick kit of RAM that was on QVL and working fine, but would have issues with overclocking and issues with 3200 MHz XMP were occasional when using 2 kits (4 sticks)
My motherboards were both daisy chained boards.
You'll have to run the 3600 CL15 profile manually and increase voltages (DRAM voltage, DRAM termination voltage, as well as SOC and debug voltages like cLDO VDDP, maybe even loosen the timings a little bit as well.

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Low clock speeds
Hello,
Recently purchased the Sapphire version of the AMD 6900 XT and I have very low clock speeds with it during games around 700 MHz and the gpu usage is bouncing up and down like crazy.
I tried with reinstalling windows, DDU ing multiple times, installing the AMD drivers without the radeon software, setting the windows power plans to max but yet still no luck.
Can anyone help how to solve this because desperate now. Is this a driver issue or the Ryzen 7 2700X is so shit that it bottlenecks the gpu this much, which I hardly doubt.
Thanks anyone who can help.

I got exactly the same problem but i got a Ryzen 5 3600XT and a 6800XT.
Very low clockspeeds and low GPU usage all the time in almost all games.
It doesnt even matter if i render a game in 4K, fps are always almost the same.
Seems to be that everything under a Series 5000 CPU is a bottleneck -
Hey guys I'm running a b450 tomahawk with a 5600x and a 3070 and whenever I'm playing league of legends it dips from 144fps to 108fps and back up to 144fps constantly. The dips are ALWAYS to 108fps and ONLY 108fps before climbing back up to 144fps. The dip always feels laggy and I've only noticed when this issue occurs, uncapping the framerate in game doesn't get me higher than 144fps. When the issue isn't happening the uncapped framerate is 300-500.

Okay so backstory, I build PCs for people for a little extra money. I ordered a 5600x from Best Buy a few weeks ago for myself & it hasn’t been used at all. It got thermal paste on it & I threw it in this build for someone who wanted it in theirs. I still wanted one of my own so I found someone selling one off of OfferUp for $330 & I put in my system but I thought about it & decided to switch them between systems because with the one I bought from Best Buy, I’d have a warranty. So I switch them & now this one that I put in my PC is heating up to almost 90C doing trivial stuff like booting into windows or opening Modern Warfare. I’ve reposted this thing like 5 times with varying amounts of paste & nothing is changing it. The previous 5600x was never going over 65C even while running benchmarks with PBO +200 on so if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

I am confused about DDR ram and how to achieve the speed I had intended. I have G.Skill (F4-3600C16-16GTZN) that if you set it to Xmp1 you will achieve this. This is mounted on a new Asus dark hero VIII MB.I understand the part about DDR, so I expect to see it at 1800Mhz. On CPUiD it seems confusing to me.
On the SPD tab it shows the memory information Max bandwith DDR4- 2132(1066MHz)
On the memory tab it shows
Timings box Dram frequency 1799.6 MHz
So if the memory tab is showing 1799.6 is it truly operating at 3600 which would be a double of that?

What does it say in task manager?

!!AMD RADEON SOFTWARE ISSUE!!
I have this problem where my radeon software looks different to every other one I see. My one is completely simplified and the HUD is red and black, while every other one I've seen is blue and grey and has a lot more features than mine. How do I get that one as I can't do much at all with this shitty software.
I am using a Nitro 5 Ryzen 5 Gaming Laptop. Thanks

Hi all,
I just upgraded my system to have a Gigabyte A320M-S2H rev 3.0, 16gb of ddr4-3200, and a Ryzen 5 3600. System posts fine and reaches bios, however when I try to boot into Windows media off a flash drive it blue screens every time with “MICROCODE_REVISION_MISMATCH”. I’ve tried updating to latest bios on the motherboard and trying ram sticks individually. No luck. Any ideas for what else I can try or did I just get a dead CPU? I tried installing Ubuntu as well and it just reboots the PC - so it isn’t my installation media.
Any help is appreciated.
-
It's BIOS related, so I'd suggest using an older BIOS and see if that changes anything.
Also, fair warning: you might have issues getting the system to boot with 3200 MHz RAM later, half of the time the A320 board has a hard time with anything higher than 2933.

tl;dr Can you run Adrenaline on 5K iMac w/ Radeon Pro 580X?
To be clear, I've been using bootcamp to run Windows 10 and I play PC games on there just fine. Beautiful graphics 🙂
My only issue is that I recently wanted to save a video clip of a game. I couldn't find anywhere to do that and I heard that it's part of AMD's Adrenaline software, which comes with / works with the 580X I think.
I installed it, and it tells me that I could not find a Radeon GPU in my machine! haha... even when I open up the device manager or whatever windows calls it and see it listed right there.
So yeah, I'm assuming it's a drivers thing... has anyone been able to run this on a Mac / Bootcamp Windows device? Thanks!

I want to bump up my memory to 32GB, but good kits seem to be rare in the UK at the moment.
I'm looking at F4-3600C17D-32GTZR and HX436C17PB3K2/32 currently, although I'm slightly tempted to just splash out on this b-die Team Group 8Pack set.
I could save a pretty penny by going for the Kingston set. Would there be anything inherently wrong with this set (I just plan to set XMP and forget it really)? The fact I don't plan to do any overclocking probably rules out the Team Group set, since this is presumably aimed at diehards trying to push their memory to the limit.
I've heard the Trident CL17 set is b-die, albeit perhaps a lower bin?
EDIT: Nevermind, I've just bought BL2K16G36C16U4R which should be pretty decent. Even with the import tax, should still be a relatively cheap option for 32GB at 3600CL16, and I believe it's Micron e-die.
-
Do not care what specific Die's are used for the RAM, as they also can vary from production queue, basically if you'd buy 2 identical kits, one kit might use Micron e-die, the other one Hynix and so on. As long as you're only using the XMP/DOCP RAM Profile it doesn't matter, it'll always work at the specified speed.
3600MHz CL16 is OK, minimum to go for would be 3200MHz CL16. Ideal: As much MHz as possible as low CL as possible. Though also keep in mind: paying over $20€ just to get a difference of 2 CL is not worth it, aka lowest price first choice.

Screen goes black after motherboard logo when installing 21.2.2 drivers (and suddenly started when I had 20.12.1)
Can boot into safe mode, wiping with DDU works up until I try to install them again (after restart prompt I can boot normally into Windows for 2-3 minutes when the installation is like 60-70% complete the screen goes black and you can only boot into safe mode to fix it), weird that the problem started suddenly without any changes in OS, just tried booting my PC up and it just won't go past that logo splash, then I tried those things with safe mode and DDU.
Tried 20.12.1 to no result, low resolution graphics setting in startup options doesn't work, I don't want to do a fresh Windows install, definitely not PSU fault, GPU after cleaning with DDU doesn't show at Device ManagerNow I'm stuck with a $300 GPU that doesn't even work as intended

So my problem is basically that most games (especially the more graphically demanding ones) run horribly while on Fullscreen. I can see my framerate being high, even 100+ with no dips below 80, and still it feels crappy.
I tried switching to Windowed mode and well... while that literally solves every issue I met in FS, playing in windowed mode is not really comfortable for me, as icons and white bars from the desktop are really distracting and screw the immersion. I even tried this application called Borderless Gaming on Steam to no avail... Once I run the game with it, all the previously mentioned benefits of Windowed mode simply vanish.
V-sync is turned off, as are Game bar, Game mode, DVR, and Fullscreen optimization on Properties menu. My drivers are the latest, even though I´ve been experiencing these issues with many drivers.
I'm running a Sapphire 5600xt coupled with Ryzen 2600 with 16gb of RAM at 3000Mhz.
I'd really appreciate if you could help me solve this problem, because I know the hardware is fine and can provide a really optimal experience, so it's a waste to see this happen. Thanks in advance!

Trying to undervolt my Vega FE but my only options in Radeon Pro settings is Fan speed tuning?
Afterburner deletes any changes I make as soon as I click apply (yes I've checked "extend official overclocking limits and enabled controls in afterburner settings)
I'm assuming my only choice to overclock/underclock these cards is using OverdriveNTool? Are there other tools that work? Am I missing a step to unlock these cards?
Afterburner usually breaks when adrenaline tools are installed.
I am using a Ryzen 3600 and at stock settings it hits 4.2Ghz and 1.4 peak voltage which I've read is a bit high. I went to the bios/advanced voltage settings and undervolted the Dynamic Vcore (DVID) setting to -1.15 but still the peak voltage is 1.4 - any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
I can do it through Ryzen Master using the Profile - Manual and set it there which works but basically I want to do the same thing through bios if possible.
First off, reset that setting, that will cause serious instability and crashing.
Second, it's normal and safe to run these CPUs as they are out of the box because it's how they're engineered. You have nothing to worry about, the silicon fitness (FIT) is always preventing the CPU from going too far so it doesn't degrade itself.
im still getting driver timeout crashes randomly since the december GPU driver updates. Red Devil 5700 XT is there ANY damn fix for them apart from just rolling back? im sick of this shit.
i started getting them last week and they've only gotten worse since I rolled back to the November 2020 drivers, Sapphire RX 580 here
I've chosen to believe were just fucked
Can I use external hdd to boot OS from it and play games in my office computer provided for wfh purpose from my office without connecting LAN/internal so that they can't detect any external device? will that be possible or the information about external hardware connected is stored in the system and updated to office security server later once we connect again to internet/LAN when in for shift?
According to AMD its safe, but this is not the point. Even if i lower the voltage and the OC, i experience very large temperature spikes. About 20-30 degree, which cannot be a normal behaviour. I think my CPU chip has a problem, maybe a failty temperature sensor or so.
High Idle temps for ryzen 5 3600.

First off, no case fans yet. The cpu cooler is stock, and i remounted to properly apply it to the cpu and I think the thermal paste that was pre applied is evenly spread and making contact across the cpu. I could be wrong... My idle temps during browsing and using discord get up to 67C and then go down. Is there something wrong that I haven't thought of? DLM DarkFlash 22 case, balanced power plan on windows. Havent changed anything in the bios besides XMP to 3200mHz on my ram.
Its most likely the no case fans because the warm air that your cpu and gpu create is just circling around and being recycled, for now until you can get the case fans I would just leave the side panel off so that at least some fresh air can be circulated.
Does a fx-8370e fit in my M5A97 evo R2.0
Or just a normal fx-8370
Hi all, I'm about to build a PC and i have a question about the msi b550 carbon wifi, so there's 2 argb connectors and one is optimized for corsair stuff, and i have none of that, will i be able to still use that for different argbs? Also my build is going to have 6 argb fans (2 being for the AIO) and the pump block is argb too, so that's 7 devices in total, and i'm thinking of putting in the lian li argb strip too, so that's 8, do i need a hub for that or will i be fine with the 2 on board headers (assuming the Corsair one is viable). Thank you for any help you can give me.
Hi everyone, My Ryzen 3600 SoC idles at around 30W according to Ryzen Master and 20W according to HWiNFO64, I'm wondering if such a high value is normal, or if someone knows how to fix it.
It's normal for the 3600 to use that much power at idle.
For the best idle power saving, the use of the following BIOS settings is ideal:
AMD Cool & Quiet = Enabled Global C-state Control = Enabled PPC Adjustment = pState 0 Power Supply Idle Control = Low Current Idle
Also make sure CPPC and CPPC Preferred Cores are enabled, it's necessary for performance as it tells Windows which cores to use first.
Why does enabling Freesync on my monitor only allow 1440p/60fps or 1080p/120fps in the Xbox Series X settings? Is this a limitation of the console or the monitor and is there a way to enable 1440p/120fps within the Xbox settings while freesync is enabled on my monitor?
Console: Xbox Series X Monitor: Samsung LC32JG (1440p 144hz freesync) Connection: Hdmi
Switched from an RTX 3070 to the Rx 6800
I'm experiencing something strange. In the warzone menus with MSI afterburner overlay on I notice a slight jitter almost like my screen is shaking.
In the menus, on the frame graph I have a SOLID horizontal line with 140fps capped with RTSS, but will get a tiny dip/jitter every 2-3 seconds... I checked for this after I noticed micro stutters while tryna play warzone. Shit is driving me nuts. Its not smooth. I'm not sure what else to troubleshoot.
System specs:
10700k @ 5ghz 1.29v Gigabyte RX 6800 G.Skill 32gb 3600mhz Cl16 XMP 1 enabled Corsair RM850x
here's what I've tried:
I Used DDU to wipe all amd and Nvidia stuff twice. Re-installed AMD driver software and the 2nd time picked the older edition to see if its any better.
Re-installed warzone
Used gpu stock, undervolted, and overclocked with no success
Increased CPU voltage in case some instability arose from swapping gpu.. I was stable with the 3070 and this 5ghz OC before though.
Should I try turning XMP off? What else should I do?
have you tried exiting/closing all afterburner processes while gaming?
Summary of Issue
HP Reverb G2 issues with AMD Radeon RX 6900XT. Upon connecting the DP cable the system will throw a BSOD (Stop code: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT) followed by a hard reboot. If I leave the G2 connected the boot logo will be displayed in the HMD instead of the primary display. The system does not complete booting until I disconnect the DP cable.

can you please provide a relevant dump file?
Not so much an issue, just eyebrow-raising. Hitting pretty toasty temps in a 5600X playing Warzone. Peaks at 85c some days.
(Yes, I know it's rated to 95c, I'd just rather be below this.) This despite moderate CPU usage, seems to hit 2-4 cores heavily and the rest a fair bit less. Anyone else experiencing the same?(Note: I just noticed the RendererWorkerCount was set to 4 in the options .ini file, I'll change it to six and update if I see a difference.)
Setup:
- 5600X w/ -15 offset in curve optimiser (no OC)
- Scythe Kotetsu Mk2 (not a particularly beefy cooler, fan only does 1200rpm. This might actually be the culprit)
- Strix 2070
- NR200 case, pretty good airflow so shouldn't be an issue
Hello,
Summary of the problem:
I have a dual GPU setup where I'm passing through one GPU to a Windows VM through the VFIO Linux driver. This setup has been working for weeks, except two days ago the guest GPU stopped outputting video signal. I appreciate that there is a separate VFIO subreddit but please bare with me because I believe this to be a hardware issue. When booting the VM with virtualized graphics, Device Manager reports Error 43 when looking at the GPU. In Linux I'm getting the following error:
[ 54.539030] vfio-pci 0000:2d:00.0: Invalid PCI ROM header signature: expecting 0xaa55, got 0xffffThis suggests to me that there is a VBIOS issue. Sure enough, GPU-Z in Windows is unable to read the BIOS information. At this point I attempted to flash the BIOS using amdvbiosflash, various tutorials online claim that it is possible even with a bricked GPU if you pass the "-f" option in command line to force the flash. No matter what I tried, amdvbiosflash returns "Failed to read ROM, ERROR: 0FL01"
I've exhausted all troubleshooting steps I could think of. One thing I haven't tried is shorting the pins on the BIOS chip, I'm not a big fan of soldering on my GPU because cleaning it will be a nightmare. My last resort is attempting to reflow in the oven, although I'm aware this could make the situation worse...
System Configuration:
Motherboard: MSI x570 Tomahawk Wifi CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X GPU (host): Asus Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition GPU (guest): Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OS: Archlinux, Windows 10I have a 5600x and I think I'm seeing strange temperature readings through open hardware monitor and was wondering if anyone else had encountered similar.
Basically it seems no matter if idle or under load I'm consistently seeing the 3rd core at a significantly higher temp than all the other cores and the 4th core significantly lower, this image is it returning to idle after playing hitman 2, where the cpu peaked at around 82C. My gut is that it's just not reporting correctly and actually all cores are closer to the 45C mark.
This is with the stock wraith cooler / stock thermal paste in an ATX case with decent ventilation. Also stock voltages / clock. I do have an AIO and some thermal grizzly kryonaut but that's waiting for my new case to arrive so was hoping to get this ironed out before that swap.
My gut is that it's just not reporting correctly and actually all cores are closer to the 45C mark.
I'm not sure about the accuracy and quality of support with OHM but you can double-check with hwinfo
It's also possible that those CPUs are the preferred cores to run things on
What is the Nvidia/Amd equivalent of the ryzen 4500u igpu?
Ryzen IS AMD.
NVidia don't make igpus, only gpus. The only other (common) igpu supplier is Intel.
Could you please re-phrase your question?
I am not very computer savvy, so bare with me. The build is a b450 tomahawk max, Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon 5600xt, 16g Corsair pro 3600mhz ram. I updated the bios to the most current using a usb drive and flash button. My problem is how do I load windows? My last build was an Intel, so i was able to boot with the cpu and one stick of ram, then upload windows using a flash drive and download the drivers for the gpu. I have no output through the mb due to not having onboard graphics. When I try to use the gpu I have no video output, which I am assuming is because I don't have the drivers installed due to being a new build and no operating software. Short of getting another cpu with the am4 socket that has onboard graphics, like a anthlon 200ge, just to load everything, I am at a loss. I have read a lot of posts on here without finding an answer, so sorry if this is a common post and has been answered already. ty
Windows usb stick will load drivers with nvidia and radeon gpu.
Even bios will load to select usb stick as boot device.
Is there any way to stop my RX 580 downclocking to random freqs? I have it set to like 1480, but in some smaller games it goes down to 1360ish or even less to 1100MHz, which I don't kinda like, since I have 240Hz monitor and I need the high fps.
It's downclocking because of the curve. Adjust it in Radeon settings.
Card could also be power or temperature limited.
Hello guys im having trouble with my rx 580 8gb model. (ASUS OC). It powers up, fans spin normally, but no video. Tried safe mode - recognizes the gpu on device manager - still no video. Tried ddu and install new driver - crashes while installing amd new driver. Black screen then BSOD. Tried it on another computer, same thing happens. Crashes. Ive tried almost everything and im pretty giving up. Can someone help? Any idea of what may be happening with it?

R.I.P.
What are the safe GPU temps for the 6800
I have a sapphire nitro+ in a pretty big case with fans and it's sitting at 62 degrees at max load even being left on running all day. It idles at around 25-30.
I feel like that leaves a lot of room for overclocking.
RDNA and RDNA2 GPUs have a maximum temperature (junction) of 110 degrees, which is set up that way by AMD/Radeon so that they can push the cards harder. Keep in mind that running temperature will vary from one game to another; more graphically demanding titles will draw out more heat. When I had a 5700-XT, it would run that cool in some games, but other games it would run over 100 degrees.
After 110 degrees Celsius, the card will shut off.
That is really good temps for idle and max load
This is so stupid. So I think I have a problem of coil whine. When my CPU is idling at 1.0V (around there), I can hear a highly annoying noise going on and off. However, when the CPU is doing work and the voltage goes higher, the noise goes away. I can reproduce this consistently. It seems like when the voltage is fluctuating in the lower ranges (0.95V to 1.0V) is when the coil whine noise is heard, which is alot because that is when my chip is idling, which is most of the time (reading stuff, internet browsing).
I think this video explains what is going on:
OMG, the only way to make this go away is to run this perl script that sleeps and runs, it takes up about 8-10% of my CPU, but it keeps the voltage running at 1.3V and power at 35W. This is beyond stupid. Literally running this right now
perl -MTime::HiRes=sleep -e "sleep 0.0009 while 1"Is there a way to set the minimum voltage to 1.15V or something and I guess by that measure, have the chip running harder than it needs to a bit?!?!
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570 Plus ATX RAM G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 15GB (2 x 8GB) DDR 3200 GPU EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 PSU PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad (Old) OS Windows 10, 64bit: 20H2 Build 19042.789CPUs shouldn't cause coil whine, because it usually comes from transformers or inductors. It would be the motherboard doing it, not the CPU.
Either that or it's the GPU in actuality.
CPU: 5600X
COOLER: Noctua DH14
MB: MSI B550M MORTAR WIFI AGESA 1.2
RAM: 32GB 3200Mhz DDR4
GPU: GTX1060 6GB
Hi all, I've done so basic OC with PBO and curve optimiser, nothing too crazy. When running Cinebench R23, I get temperatures at 80C, but I can see that the CPU power is only 77W in Ryzen Master. Moreover, when I touch the heatsink (during benchmark), it seems only lukewarm/borderline cool to touch. I've tried open benching with side panel off and all fans set to 100%. The Noctua DH14 remains quite cold, but the CPU core temp is still 80C and CPU power at 81W.
I'm not sure if this is just typical Zen3 CPU temp behaviour, or whether I'm having mounting issues and need to remount or repaste. Could anyone advise if this is typical temperatures on such a large air cooler? I thought the TDP for DH14 would be over 100W+
What was your method for paste and mounting?
Temps under oc are high on ryzen but if you did the pea/rice method you should do more paste and spread it.
Why do my fan curves and power settings default to certain values (not default)?
Whenever I shut down my PC, and then turn it back on, my GPU fan curves and power settings reset. Why is this happening? Do I have a random setting toggled? Am I just being dumb?
Unfortunately you have just encountered some unfine wine. If you scroll down or access the previous quarters thread, you will see a large amount of folks with the same issue.
I know it sounds crazy, and hear me out...but you should be happy this is the only problem you have...
Many folks have to reinstall the adrenaline drivers after every reboot! I know the amd sub likes to bash nvidia but as a fan of AMD this isn't an easy pill to swallow but if you want one "that just works" you have chosen the wrong team.
Amd cpu + nvidia gpu = happy place.
I have heard that ULPS Sometimes does major Performance issues and i have those issues. i wanted to know Is it safe to disable on A radeon R5 M330.
Go for it.
There's no harm in trying. If things get worse you can just re-enable it, it should not cause the entire GPU to stop working.
Hey all
I'm planning out a new pc build and I'm getting a little stuck on the motherboard part of the build as I'm trying to save money, but I'm not quite sure how the PCIe lanes work and if my plans on saving money may compromise performance in my build.
The motherboard I want to use is the Asus Prime x570-p, or the more expensive option which is the Asus Prime x570-pro. Before I read this one thread I wouldve happily gone with the regular x570-p, but now im afraid that using an m.2 SSD (specifically the Western Digital SN550 1TB) may start using up some of the GPU lanes on the motherboard, causing to half its performance?
Here is the link to the thread that im talking about and the comment that explained what the initial difference between the x570-p and pro that confused me:
/comments/d0olnj/asus_prime_x570p_vs_x570pro/ezbau2a/" class="reddit-press-link" target="_blank" rel="noopener">https://www.reddit.com//comments/d0olnj/asus_prime_x570p_vs_x570pro/ezbau2a/Not sure if my other specs im planning to build the pc with matters, but ill list them anyway:
Ryzen 5 5600x
Enermax Aquafusion AIO 240MM
Asus Prime x570-p or x570-pro
Gigabyte 3080 vision oc
WD Blue SN550 1TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD
Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5¨ 7200RPM HDD
Antec Earthwatts 750W 80+ Gold Semi
4x Enermax SquA RGB 120MM fans (Also wondering if the motherboards have enough connectors for this many fans?)
Thank you 🙂
