If you looking at your controller, you are losing.

ID: gq6yabhI love this comment
ID: gq782k8Well, the bottom is a cross. So that's not it. That leaves 3 choices.
ID: gq6imoiI always feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I read about people having trouble with this stuff. I've never owned a Playstation, and Switch was my first Nintendo console since Gamecube. I use Xbox controllers on PC, but I've never once been confused by picking up a Dualshock or Switch controller.
In my head, the symbol/colour just correspond to a position on the controller face. The buttons have names when I'm explaining them to other people, but I don't consciously think about the names. Just symbol = kinesthetic response.
I dunno, maybe that'll help people. Don't call it "X button" in your head, just map it to a physical response.

I’m blanking on what controller is that top X from?
ID: gq6en9gSwitch pro??
ID: gq73bcqHalf of Nintendo's consoles
ID: gq71d4d3ds
ID: gq76fadNintendo switch, but also DS's and stuff
-
Considering this is a DualShock controller, the bottom X would be the correct answer.
ID: gq6wc1gDepends on what language I think. Pretty sure in Japan they use circle for yes and cross for no
ID: gq6ry1gThere wasn’t even a question asked
-
“The answers are all right, but pick the one that’s most right”
ID: gq6xxkfEasy, X belongs at the top.
Whether you are arguing about who did it first, or who is currently the best, the answer is the same.
__X
Y___A
__B

The real X-box

Well, the bottom is a cross. So that's not it. That leaves 3 choices.
ID: gq7b8jkNo matter what sony says, that will always be "multiplication symbol" to me
ID: gq6ak29No that’s x

“This is why I have trust issues”

Would love it if games stopped prompting button names and used the button position graphic prompt. Solves this entirely.
-
So, the answers are all the same? Does not look like a hard test

Oh boy, i never noticed. The game cube one really closes the cicle

"which option is most correct"
-
worst is when as a playstation player you switch to xbox (for example) and fail a mission because you need to press X, but you press where the PS's X was, instead of the xbox X.
ID: gq6xq9uSwitching between Xbox and switch is way worse caus they have the same buttons just switched positions
-
which controller is that?

Press K on your controller to continue

The test is only confusing if you don’t study. Because you’re playing video games.

Blue X for Doubt
-
Usually the test question says Find 'X', so this is an easy one!
-
The question is "which is the cross button"
-
Literally me today in Account Principe test
-
Press Y to pay respects.
-
The "X on a playstation controller is not an "X"
Its 2 lines. A cross of sorts.
The circle is 1 line.
The triangle is 3
And the square is 4.
-
Since I grew up with a PS1/PS2 X will always be the bottom one for me.
This makes button prompts very confusing as I now use an xbox 360 controller for PC games...
-
There`s a lot of doubt in this post
-
technicaly, playstation uses geometrical shapes, so its not an X but a Cross

That's why button prompts work best when they show the 4 buttons and their position but only highlight the one you need to press. Such a simple UI design that fixes this problem entirely.
