Hi all. Simple question: what game do you find yourself always returning to? For me right now it's Rocket League, prior to that it was Diablo 3/Warframe.
I am asking as most of the time these types of games are the reason why we play games in the first place.
PS: Thank you so much! - was not expecting this many people to jump in PS (2): Thank you for the silver, kind stranger!
-
Bioshock
-
TES4 Oblivion
ID: gqu3j0lID: gqvxncxOblivion's quests were so interesting and memorable. In Skyrim I feel like I barely remember any of the quests even though I played it several years after Oblivion.
-
Resident Evil 4. The amount of times I’ve played that game (and still throughly enjoy it) is incredible.
ID: gqusm6tI WISH it had a platinum so I could have an excuse to hurry up and get on with my 10th playthrough
ID: gqvipc2RE4 it's one of those games I play once a year like a sort of tradition. Huge fan since gamecube, then wii, 360, and now on switch even though that port it's shit on ammo resources.
-
Silent Hill 2, 100%. The exploration in it is incredible and the atmosphere feels so unique in the world of gaming.
-
Dreams, Overwatch and any of Fromsoft's games
-
Souls games (Dark souls, BB, Sekiro, Nioh). There's so many different weapons and playstyles to try, as well as sequence order/ which areas to do first etc.
ID: gquey9eI have around 300 hours in DS1, and I only really got into the pvp in DS3. DS1 is such an open ended and replayable game
ID: gqucfzaI was going to say the same thing! Dark Souls is my "chill out game" I've played them so many times that I can basically set my own difficulty by limiting myself or becoming OP. I don't have to learn new mechanics, I just play and perfect boss fights and shortcuts.
-
Mass Effect trilogy. 13 times so far.
14th time will be when the remaster comes out.ID: gqtad2rPlaying Mass Effect feels so good, I do not understand how anyone at EA or BioWare thought that formula needed to change.
ID: gqtnc7aHoly hell. I love ME, even have a tattoo, but that's insane.
-
RDR2
ID: gqu44lmLol I'm DYING to replay RDR 2 but I've sworn to myself I'll wait until the PS5 update (I acknowledge this could be very long indeed)
ID: gqu4xx6I’m in the same boat. It’s the one game I want R* to milk, but they seem insistent on churning out GTAV for the third time.
I’d easily pay around $100 for a steel book edition of both RDR and RDR2 packaged together, remastered, as one complete game.
I’m not buying GTA again, I’m over it.
ID: gqtqfcaI cant escape it
ID: gqttz43For me too! But why?
I exhausted everything I can do in that game, but I still want to go back to it and ride on the horse.
I’d love for anything new in story mode,
-
Devil May Cry 5. It’s the best pure action game I’ve ever played, and you can always improve.
-
THIS IS ROCKET LEAGUE!!!
-
Nioh 2
-
I always go back to either Uncharted 2 or Uncharted 4.
-
Spiderman PS4
-
Mario RPG
-
Batman Arkham Knight and TES5 Skyrim
-
RDR2
-
The FromSoft games
-
All these Soulsborne answers and I can't even get to the first big boss in Sekiro. RIP.
Rocket League for me, and I always find myself returning to the inFamous world for single player
-
Rocket league. It’s the game I play a few matches every night and the game that is played in between game releases
-
Ratchet and Clank. Been playing them for 15 years. Love that series.
ID: gqu5ersThe new game might end up being my first $70 built for this gen game purchase and I’m pretty excited about it. Never played them growing up in the PS2 days, but I loved the remastered version of the original.
-
The Soulsborne games are the only ones in maybe the last decade that I have completed more than once. Every other game I more or less take my time to beat it and never play it again.
I recently got into the Nioh collection and it’s nice to tide me over, but damn am I hyped for Elden Ring
-
Same as you Diablo 3. Monster Hunter World also. The Division 2. I can never stop playing these games for too long.
I’m actually installing MHW on my PS5 for the first time today and looking forward to jumping back in tonight after work. The 60fps is breathing new life into a lot of games I’m delighted with that alone.
-
Resident evil 4 and soon remake 2/3. I’ve played RE4 since it’s original release well over a hundred times now on various systems. The remakes have been getting a lot of replay from me too.
-
Bloodborne.
-
Destiny.
-
BioShock.
-
Elder scrolls and Final Fantasy games. Any of them.
ID: gqsxqcu100% this.
I can jump on FFX whenever I want, do a few random battles, maybe a match of blitzball, maybe even just sit on the main menu listening to the music for a minute... everything about that game makes me happy.
It was the first real jrpg I ever really played (Wild Arms PS1 was the first jrpg I played but got stuck because I was too young) and I loved everything about it. The story, the characters, the battle system, the optional side mission type things you could do for aeon/weapon upgrades, the locations, the cutscenes; even just talking about FFX makes me happy and nostalgic.
Recently started playing FF7 since it’s the ps plus free game this month and I’m really enjoying it. The last FF game I tried was XV and I really could not get into it. I might just have to try it again after 7 and see if my opinion has changed. If not it might just be time for another play through of X!

Easy question.
Soulsborne franchise. No matter what i always replay it at least once a year.
ID: gqth8bsAll of them? Every year??
-
Bloodborne and MHW Iceborne.
-
Binding of isaac. Infinite replayability. I've tried a lot of the newer roguelite games and none compare.
-
The Last of Us Part II.
-
Mass Effect Trilogy, Witcher 3 and Last of Us. I usually play these at least once a year.
-
Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne
-
Dark Souls 3 or For Honor, I'm a glutton for punishment
-
Mass effect, that’s why I’m so stoked for the remaster.
-
Slay the spire, such an incredible game
-
Madden. I know it's not a cool answer, but it's easy to keep going back to.
-
All of the soulsborne games and borderlands ones to
-
Monster hunter
-
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
-
Tekken 7
-
Any Deus Ex

YAS! till this day, if I dive into and even though I have done everything that you possibly can do in the game and its dlc's, I just get lost in it. Plus a nostalgic hit. I enjoyed Morrowinds and definitely enjoyed Skyrim, but for me they both pale in comparison to Oblivion.
