I accidentally purchased the PlayStation 4 version of monster energy Supercross 4, and there’s evidently no PS5 upgrade available. It isn’t clear at all when you’re on the store page that you’re about to buy the wrong version, and the kicker here is that I clicked into the game from the homepage of the PlayStation store. Foolishly, I assumed it would direct me to the PS5 version of the game considering I’m on a PS5, but it seems it kicked me to the PS4 version, so now I have the wrong game.
I can’t easily get a refund because I installed the game, which obviously, that’s how I knew I installed the wrong version was I went to play it and the icon said “PS4” next to it on my Home Screen.
Is Sony doing easy swaps for this type of thing? I know I’m not the only person to have done this. I’d just like a swap to the right version.

Are you sure you just didn’t see it? Because on the app and via web browser it is obvious if it is ps4 or ps5

Like someone else said, this is a problem with you. If its a ps4 game it says ps4 on it's thumbnail, you don't even have to click into it. If not, it's a ps5 game. It's a simple as that.

Sounds like a you problem. It clearly states PS4 when you're looking at the game. If it doesn't, that's the Ps5 version
ID: gqtgs8dIf you go to the store page, and add the game straight to your cart, you will see it defaults to the PS4 version, but only after you click into the product page from the cart. It's a problem that the store doesn't tell you you're buying the wrong product. Do you not understand that sometimes people can make a mistake that's not 100% their fault?
ID: gqtho49I just searched it. Default is Ps5. Added to cart and went to check out. Default is Ps5. I even checked the other versions and it states right before you buy it "Ps4" if you're ordering the Ps4 version.
Take your loss you messed up. It sucks but be more diligent

Definetly a you problem. I just looked at it on the PS5 store's front page and it clearly states "Platform: PS5".

Well I mean if you go to PS5 games, it's quite easy.
But I do agree with you, it shouldn't even be a problem.

There is literally a label that says PS4. Maybe pay attention..?

Customer service would probably help you get the right version.
ID: gqtesbrIf the dude is lucky to get a nice customer rep, yes. Customer service usually don't do shit and just tells they can't help.
ID: gqtg2agI just finally got through, and they kicked me out. Absolutely ridiculous. Told me they can't do exchanges. Obviously you can send out codes for games, they could easily give me a code for the PS5 version and that would fix it.
ID: gqtgn81I would try again. It might be different by country, but trying again can't yeild a worse result.

I went into the store, clicked the tile (the game just came out Friday so it was on the main page), and hit Add to Cart. It didn't say PS4 in the cart either, just the name of the game. I've bought both PS4/PS5 games before and I would have noticed it but there was no mention.
