I just got a ps5 a few days ago and this planet coaster game looks cool but I don’t know if it’s worth the $50 price tag. I used to love thrillville I know it’s not the same but more or less. Anyway people who bought it is it good and does it work well on console? Thank you!

The games pretty funny and the console controls are about as good as expected. I personally feel like it's worth the money but you might disagree depending what you're into.
I'd suggest waiting for a sale if you're hesitant, or check up some gameplay on YouTube.

I liked the game a lot. The basic park building is decnet on consoles, only designing the bigger coasters can be painful, especially in the first tries. Besides that the controls are decent, the game is fun but it is pretty basic in terms of sim management.
I probably would recommend to buy the game at around 30 to 40 bucks.

If you like theme park building games, it's great! My wife and I got hooked on it over Christmas.
The customisation is incredible, and it runs great on the PS5. Some of the stages in the career mode can be brutal though, and the vendor side of the game (gift shops and food-drink) needs some work, as it often feels totally unpredictable and a bit of a chore.
It'll take a bit of practice getting used to the controls, but frontier have done a great job porting the menus over from pc and making it accessible using the dual sense.

It's not. You don't get much for the base game and the DLC is overpriced for what you do get. This could possible be a Plus game moving forward.
I own the entire collection on PC, but waited for a Steam sale and CD keys discounts before I picked it up for around $50. It wasn't the money, but what you get for what they are asking.

ID: gqxkg1zI didnt enjoyed the base game and hate all these DLCs about the game ... RCT 3 > plantet coaster
But for those who enjoy 1-2 a day playing a park get it
ID: gquwon3Ahh CDkeys. Good old buying games with stolen credit cards doing no research and then claiming it's better than piracy.
ID: gquwuutCD Keys is 100% legit. The only one not doing their research here is you.

Functionally works well but a lot of DLC is needed for content, if by chance you have Xbox game pass it is on there so you could try it out

Planet Coaster is quite good. The controls are pretty complicated and take some getting used to - especially the coaster editor - but they’re about as good as can be expected and my 8 year old son plays it a ton, so if he can get a handle on them anyone can.
The park management aspect is fine and enjoyable and gets about as complicated and granular as you want without being overbearing. But we’re roller coaster fans and mostly got it to build and “ride” roller coasters, since we can’t get out to the parks in real life. The coaster editing is amazing. They have analogs for basically all the major coaster manufacturers and every type of coaster and track and figuring out how to make the most thrilling coaster that’s not going to scare people to death and make them barf is really enjoyable.
That said, $50 is maybe a bit steep. I’d say $30 on sale and it’s a great buy.

As a creative game it's amazing, as a management/tycoon game, not so good

I love it but find the career mode frustrating once you get into the higher levels. One mistake abs your better off resetting all of your progress then digging out of a hole.

Got it for 30€ some weeks ago and was not disappointed. The game looks gorgeous with lots of detail even when zoomed in to ground level. Riding rollercoasters in POV is so much fun, and theres a workshop you can download coasters and much more others players have designed and uploaded.
There is also a trick to walk around as a guest, name any visitor it was either "Pilpcam" or "Plipcam"
The console version also supports mouse & Keyboard on ps5, it is not quite as responsive as a pc mouse, but still more precise than a joystick.

One of the first games I got for PS5. Always been a huge fan of theme park simulator games and I’ve played Planet Coaster on PC since it launched.
It’s well ported to PS5. Coming from the PC version the big thing I struggled with was the controls but I think if I’d never played the PC version before I wouldn’t have had that issue.
Planet Coaster in general is a great game 🙂

It's awesome. You can download community creations to use in your park too.
-
If definitely rate it. I put about 80 hours in and platinumed based almost exclusively on playing through the story missions; they're quite challenging at later levels without being stupid.
Then there's free build which is good fun; even without the few dlcs they've released there is an absolute trove of stuff to build and free things you can download from the community.
Defo recommend

It was better on PC, but also very addictive of your into this kind of thing. I’ve enjoyed it on both PC and console.

YES!

Think it might be on sale, or was recently for €30. Haven't played it myself but looks like great craic on YouTube vids. Lots of Rollercoaster Tycoon fans seem to love it
-
It plays like the classic Roller Coaster Tycoon games. If you like them, you'll like it.
I have it on PC, since it came out, and I don't think I paid $50. It might be overpriced, unless it includes a lot of the content that was DLC on PC.
-
if you’re gonna put a lot of detail into it, then yes.
-
I got the PS5 version for £20 and picked up a wireless keyboard and mouse for £20.
I’ve put about 40 hours into it in a couple weeks - it looks great and plays well. Brought me right back to playing Theme Park World as a kid.
Hope Planet Zoo is coming soon to consoles!

roller coaster games on a flatscreen monitor makes no sense. wait for a VR version
-
I loved the roller coaster tycoon games but planet coaster just has too much customization in my opinion. I found it super overwhelming and I couldn't get into it. They should of just kept it simple.
-
i was checking this out the other day because i wanted to play rollercoaster tycoon. the issue is that you can't use all of the space that you can on PC because consoles can't handle it.
ID: gquab7lYou can still build a huge park, the PS5 can handle more space than the ps4.
ID: gqucrk1Is the game ported to PS5 so that you're allowed to use more space, or is this a metaphorical "can?"
Only asking because that was the main reason I didn't buy. I'm getting a PS5 soon (unless it gets stolen on the way here lol) and would love to play that game on it.
ID: gqv82viYou still get an insanely large amount of space, more than you'll ever need.

I disagree. I have the game including DLCs on PC and also own the console edition to casually play on the couch. In my opinion the base game has plenty of content and if the DLCs simply didn’t exist no one would complain.
The game looks stunning on PS5 and plays excellent. Definitely worth the money for me.
