- Outriders is a DEMO and its current and lifetime peak is still higher than Avengers.

Outriders is actually fun to play
ID: grx3pxaID: grx60w3That is far from even being on the top 10 list of problems with the game. I played it all the way through to endgame and it's very clearly an unfinished game.
ID: gry64ymIt was dead before arrival when they said Spider-Man was a PS exclusive
ID: grx4101Avengers is fun go play. Not much to play for is the problem. Hoping they turn it around. The name is helping carry it this long.
-
I love my Avengers — but I can’t deny my boy’s got some serious issues and can’t blame people for not playing!
-
Demos are free. Avengers is not free
ID: grxv3ozSure, but people are still playing the demo. I would understand if during the first week it would have inflated numbers but anyone still playing it is properly hooked
ID: grwkbu8Yep you're right (I put DEMO on the title after all) but even so 2100 peak players after the roadmap announcement recently (full priced AAA game with the huge avengers license) is pretty bad regardless.
On top of this even the highest concurrent players Avengers ever had (28k) is STILL lower than Outriders (32k) despite being a demo. They bought it on themselves for releasing the game in that state but I still hope it becomes good in time because I love crystal dynamic and the possibilities of Marvel universe.
ID: grymdgsI hope the game gains popularity on twitch and everywhere and the peak players blow up to like 300k. That would guarantee at least an expansion or two.

As someone who Ground the absolute F@$& out of Destiny 1 until it was a dead shell of a game..... Outriders had me ten minutes into playing it. I can’t wait!!!
ID: grwlsr4Same mate! How many of the legendaries you farmed? I have 3 left not sure if the RNGods will bless me before launch.
ID: grwpgdcIm keep getting aerie shotgun 🙁
ID: grwpj5aWho are you fighting to get legendaries? .is it the guy just before you see mccain? I've put 55 hours in to him and nothing yet.
ID: grwpox6Lucky..i have none so far in 20 hours crys
-
That tells you a lot already....
ID: grwhh89Well Outriders devs goal is to drop a complete game at launch while the Avengers went the opposite 'fix it later' route which I'm very tired of honestly. I do hope Avengers can avenge itself but I wish it was good from the start.
Will get downvoted but don't care screw avengers, anthem and any other unfinished mess they bought it on themselves.
ID: grwomrlWhy in the oblivion did you think you would be downvoted for stating such a thing?
Specially in this subreddit.ID: grwpr3jYou sure they were going to "fix" anything ?
Werent they too busy making sure people would spend more money ?
-
Captain grinding in the Outriders demo is more fun than Avengers as a whole and I say this as a day 1 Avengers player. The limited amount of loot in a demo is better than the loot in a full game. I'll probably return to Avengers after the recent PS5 version came out, but the loot is fucking horrendous. "7.5% to tickle the enemies ballsack when dodging".
But yeah, I get it, free demo VS full priced game.
-
Let's hope Avengers still can become what it should have been though.
I know a lot of people (including me) who always dreamt of a game with epic super hero battles and the fighting in the game is super fun. It's everything else that need a rework.ID: grwohofYep, we can only hope for the best

Isnt the demo free while avangers is buy to play?
-
You aren't comparing the demo and avengers' beta nor the demo vs the release week of avenger. You are comparing with 7 months later in a game... I bought Avengers and it was terrible but this is not fair.
ID: grwd9ptYes but If you at look the highest peak of all time Outriders Demo is 32k while peak Avengers is 28k. This was posted after the Avengers roadmap announcement and a bump in the avengers player base.
If anything Outriders has the handicap here as it's a demo vs the full game of avengers (with the damn avengers license) who just had an announcement to build hype. Besides I never claimed anything is fair I'm just showing how the demo is doing decent vs another square Enix property. If it makes Avangers look bad or its unfair ohwell Avengers was a disaster and made itself look bad without my help.
ID: grwg9jgWhich is still a 60+ dollar game compared to a free demo.
ID: grwpm39Lmao people defending avengers here. One of the worst game ive seen. Played the demo thought it was like a mobile game to rob kids via microtransactions.
-
Avengers had a beta that was awful so I'm guessing a lot of people saw through the hype (myself included) before the game was even released. I am still angry they cancelled marvel heroes for that P.O.S game.
ID: grwn3w4Been some sad times for looter shooter fans past couple years with Anthem then Avengers. I actually enjoyed Division 2 at launch overall what did you think? I much prefer what ive played of Outriders but D2 wasn't as bad as the other two for me.
ID: grx3bneThe Division 2 is the only one of these fake MMO loot shooters (you know, whatever the genre Destiny created is called) that is actually complete. It's the best one of these, by a mile. From playing Outriders and that concurrently, I'd say they're different enough that they don't really have to compete. Outriders is a more focused, Diablo-like game, where Division is more like Destiny with a focus on weeklies, resets, and so on. But where there is overlap, Outriders seems to do many things like Division does and that's a GREAT sign.

I wonder which cost S-E far less money to produce too.
ID: grwvh3sAcquiring the Avengers license alone might have been more than Outriders whole development!
ID: grx1adzYeah getting the license from Disney wasnt cheap i can imagine...same with Massive and this Avatar license from Cameron
-
Yeah I really enjoy it too. Just one more question, do I have to finish all quests first or just get to mccain and go from there?
-
Lol amazing
-
Outriders demo is alot of fun I think it will be a promising game. Avengers was fun but it's so repetitive who wants to play the same missions over and over again I probably won't go back after Outriders gets here
ID: grxdnwaa lot /ə ˈlɒt/ n. 1. a large number or amount; a great deal: there are a lot of actors in the cast | they took a lot of abuse | a lot can happen in eight months | we had lots of fun.
alot /əˈlät/ n. a fictional mammalian creature with brown fur invented by Allie Brosh, the creator of the webcomic Hyperbole and a Half. The creature was inspired by the common grammatical error writing the phrase 'a lot as 'alot.'

To be fair it is engaging
ID: grxfknrengaging, to be fair it is.

They doomed themselves once they started pissing everyone off with ridiculous exclusivity. You don't lock a whole ass hero on a specific platform AND give them drops of premium currency with each new hero and expect the game to sell like it's cod. The marvel train has mostly passed after endgame, and right now, all I (and most others) want from superhero games, is Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad
-
Avengers was cool until I played outriders demo and seeing my character with my loot on makes a huge improvement
-
They’re kinda completely different games.
One is a finished product with no intention to milk its customer base with over priced cosmetics and the other is...oh.
Really though, Vengies was CLEARLY unfinished. When I played it on release (still have fun w the game in spite of its issues) I said “this is a pretty good Early Access game.” Because they obviously needed another 18 months to 2 years of development.
The roadmap looks promising, hopefully once everything on there is out the game will be in a good place.
The funny part about this post is I played the Demo and said “well, this is the exact kind of loot I wish Vengies had” so I had no choice but to buy Outriders, really.
-
well one is an actual game and the other is a dumpster fire that tried to milk the Marvel name for profit without any substance
-
I'm not surprised. Marvel's Avengers is the new Anthem with nothing to do other than fight waves of robots solo while praying to find real players to help.
ID: grwr0f6Thanks for the gold by the way!
-
And this is totally irrelevant since it is a $60 game vs a FREE Demo
Edit: I don't hate Outriders. In fact I absolutely love it so far. However this is still an unfair comparison.
ID: grwu169While I agree with the sentiment, its also worth noting that one is based on a multibilion dollar franchise, while the other is a new IP from a medium-size studio, and had narrow marketing up until the demo released. Even now the marketing push is relatively small, with most of it being done through WoM.
-
I like both games btw 🙂
-
Since Avengers is clearly on life support and both games are published by the same people, if Outriders is successful I don't see Avengers lasting very long. They just released a "road map", which is usually a great indicator for these sorts of games they are on their last legs.
ID: grwmvnuI'd love for them to both be successful (if avengers becomes a great game ofcourse) but you might be right. Maybe Outriders was intended as the backup plan? Or they just happened to be developing a couple looter shooters in similar time frames.

Avengers was dead on arrival when they decided the loot would be invisible. Those who worked on this game had no clue what people love from a looter RPG.
