- Only the best of the best can open THIS door.
-
I love the ones that you unlock only to find that there was some hole in the wall leading to another room with no locked door.
ID: gsq8atcID: gsqreuoYep... Oh there's a locked door, with a locked terminal next to it? Hack the terminal, see the terminals door unlock option, don't use it, leave terminal, lock pick door.
Double up that XP baby
ID: gsq8hfaI don't care how many lock picks it takes, I WANT DAT CHACHING SOUND!!!!!
ID: gsr3c74I actually enjoyed the lock picking mini game.
-
Did you kick in my door?
Kick, yes. Kick in, no. That door is solid which is the good news. The bad news is the window is not
ID: gsr0kr3You're always safe with me.
ID: gsr273rYou're just mashing it.
ID: gsr3imtWhat kind of person salts another human being?
ID: gsr5y4mIt takes a real master of karate and friendship for everyone to be able to do that.
-
Hello, this is the LockPickingLawyer and today...
ID: gsqygavAs you can see click * there we go onto the next set *silence this ones giving me trouble click there we go and finally click and there we go (says the entire history of the company and reogin time period and all)

This is why I prefer the Oblivion/Skyrim lock pick system. Even if your lock picking skill sucks you can still at least try and and if you’re good at the mini game your skill level doesn’t really matter.
ID: gsr0bhzon one hand yes, on the other that leads to the whole lockpicking skill tree being absolutely useless
like, why would I need this lock to be easier if I could already open it on level 1? why would I ever need a copy of a key to a lock I already picked easily?
It kinda cheapens playing a thief/assasin character, because even if I do a mage or warrior playthrough there is no door that can stop me. My 150kg barbarian orc that uses his 2handed axe as a knife while eating can somehow squat for a second and open a locked vault.
just because I can do it, it doesn't mean that my character should be able to
ID: gsr1inxbut the entire game is 'because I can do it' whether oblivion shooting an arrow from a mile away, or 'not oblivion with guns' aiming the gun instead of using vats to play it as classical fallout
then on the other side of the coin, let's say you suck at the minigames. Then your character can't guess a password no matter how simple despite being a hacking genius
ID: gsqd6gpYea it was so amazing when you finally open that 100 lvl lock just to get 5 coins and an apple. I could never finish that terrible game
ID: gsqojstYeah, the rewards don't seem to line up to the quest well in RPGs. Some guy asks you to retrieve the Most Awesome Sword of Death, Disintegration and Fireballs from his family's tomb. So you spend a couple hours going through the dungeon and get the sword only to find it's slightly better than the starting sword you had initially and it's only worth a loaf of bread and two bottles of mead.
ID: gsqhpgnthat terrible game
Fallout 3 is terrible?
ID: gsqwlbeYou got downvoted into the dirt. I love all of them but im upvoting you cause fuck that.
-
Well...it would be pretty difficult to open it I imagine. I mean...to actually open it without it falling into splinters.
To open it, and have it still be a door when you’re done. That is skill.
-
Give me my matter modulator!
-
at least that one does lead somewhere, there a very hard locks in doors that you can't even open
-
TAB ”unlock”
-
Devs and game logic. Obviously I would just kick the door down, but you know what lets make them pick a lock... and make it the hardest lock... brilliant!
ID: gsqfdp8Honestly, I wonder if these types of circumstances are an inside joke, or just mistakes.
I've been a professional programmer for over a decade. The systems I've worked on are so divided, that I can totally see the lock designer not knowing what the door skin looks like.
On the other hand, I can also see the coder laughing at locking a door you could obviously step through.
I give it 50/50 on purpose, or accidental miscommunication.
ID: gsqv3o7I am almost certain this is an inside joke by the devs.
ID: gsq978mI would love for there to be a strength point where you can kick down doors. That would be awesome, and you could have it level similar to lock picking-first point for easy lock, and the last point for very hard.
ID: gsqb9n6Mods are your friend. You can also blow them open with explosives. Tho if it's a safe this has a chance of destroying some of the contents.
ID: gsqc5bmJust shoot through the door and a nice super mutant will come Open it for you
ID: gsqnvehObviously I would just kick the door down
Looks like you could just about walk right through it.
ID: gsqxdrkOr just reach into the doorway and manually unlock it from the other side
-
Is this the dunwich building ?
-
And I thought Nancy Drew game puzzles were hard.
-
With Bethesda you can't really tell whether this was a mistake or intentional irony.
-
What game is this from?
ID: gsqtk6lFallout 3
-
Have you tired shotgun?
-
You gotta think that they do this for the lolz
-
-
You gotta be a master to get very hard
-
Oh no, it requires a key
ID: gsqdf7fThank God all those other doors only require lockpicks. Imagine if they required a key!
ID: gsqw4xm"This door is barred from the other side"
-
I honestly never really found them very hard tho. Gimme 20 lock picks, and I’m in there.
-
This looks like a job for Jill Valentine!
-
My first thought was climb through, but then I thought couldn't you just reach in and unlocked it?
-
This is great
-
What was in there
-
I used to know exactly where this was. Aren't there tons of super mutants?
-
Haha funny
-
My version of a key is a bootprint but to each their own
-
Bro, you touch that door it's gonna disintegrate.
-
These kinds of doors remind me of when FPSRussia demonstrated how effective an AA-12 is at opening a door
-
I remember that in the original deus ex (2000) game, you actually had the option to break certain doors instead of lockpicking them by just smacking them if they had low enough strength, or blowing certain doors with explosives.
-
Sooo I guess you can't reach through the door and open it from the other side....
-
Fallout 3 had lock forcing, didn't it? So you could just bludgeon a lock if you had a good amount of... I wanna say strength and security? You basically had to max lockpicking because everything was locked and you couldn't attempt shit if you didn't have the levels for it.
-
It as a percent chance to unlock the door. Failure meant the door was permanently locked. Chance was based on lock difficulty.
-
Ahh, right. It's been a very long time since I played it lol. Thanks for clearing that up
-
Cheat Engine bois
-
Is it worth?
-
Yeah, that one kinda pissed me off.
-
I feel like this belongs in software gore.
-
Fallout 3 was imo one of the best games for its time. I mean there was the OG crysis a year earlier.
Mods on any of the fallout games change things so much too.
I wish bethesda would do a NYC fallout with a huge map and content. The main game would be fallout Manhattan and the DLCs the rest of the boroughs. Use the subway to travel or sewers, etc.
-
Yeah ur gonna need 100+ Bobby pins
-
~unlock
-
Game logic right there
-
You could just reach through and open it from the other side
-
motherfucker this repost is older than most people on this subreddit.

Funny, I've played this game so many times, I know exactly where this is lol
