- Devs confirm Watch Dogs: Legion is getting a 60 FPS update in the future
-
That's cool. I had a good time with it at 30fps. Really great looking, and the only time I'd really appreciate the higher framerate would've been some of the quicker driving moments. I usually just set the car to autodrive and enjoyed the sights while jammin to the soundtrack.
ID: gt2twpdID: gt2ulr3In my playthrough it worked super well. Even uses blinkers and everything.
Actually made me really annoyed when I played Cyberpunk 2077 later on, and not even Delamain could auto-drive. Felt like I couldn't enjoy Night City most of the time. But in Legion, I always really enjoyed the look and detail of London.
ID: gt2rmezYeah people give it a hard time because it's only 30fps but I was really impressed by its raytracing. It adds detail to textures, the neon colors look great at night, and seeing the reflection of the city pass over my car while driving was pretty satisfying.
ID: gt2ujg6Agreed, bought this as my first title to check out the ray tracing, I thought this was the perfect showcase, rainy city, lots of shiny buildings and plenty of reflections, in a neon filled city that had good HDR. I enjoyed my time with it, and thought it looked awesome.
ID: gt3a6ijI'd bump it up to 60fps for the online modes. If I'm screwing around in the main world (which I love doing after I finished the story) I'll leave it at 30. The level of detail, the day/night look, the weather patterns, and ray tracing is phenomenal. I love losing myself in that world.
If they released a hybrid 60fps and ray tracing like Miles Morales...that'd be the game changer.

Thats amazing, bought the game this week, gonna hold off til the update
ID: gt351vmI played the demo this past weekend, I liked it but the 30fps was a big put off for me, wish this had been said earlier so I could have picked up the game on discount!

Final...LEE...
Didnt care for the game, but its enough to at least make me play it again.
ID: gt389qoWhy do you want to play something you don't care for just because it runs better?
ID: gt38g33This sub is so greasy lmao
ID: gt3bhp6Youd be suprised how many games i thought were "ehh" and moved to a "pretty good/great" status just because of a performance boost. The Og Metro games when they were ported to PS4 and got the 60fps treatment, Days Gone at 4K 60fps. Even God of War feels like a better game, just because of that FPS Boost. So i will absolutely try the game again to see if it can hook me or change my opinion on it

This game came out almost 6 months ago and has the shittiest post launch support ever. Barely any new content and the game isn't even fully fixed yet and there's been no news on season pass content until last week. One of the most disappointing releases from last year.
ID: gt2pyb5This is why you wait for the gold edition on 50% off sale when it comes to Ubisoft games. I've learned the hard way
ID: gt3ehrlThis is why you wait 1-2 years until the game is £10-£15 to buy it
ID: gt3i9ovThey absolutely should have waited a full year and released it as an entire package. I’m a huge fan of the Watch Dogs series but the game felt rushed and empty, despite having a lot of good qualities. It also has so much removed from WD1+2 that I can’t wrap my head around the reason why they thought they should. I think a key part of the game at launch should have included Invasions with people hacking into your world and vice versa, as well as seeing other players getting into high speed escapes from the cops where you could choose to intervene to help or hinder them.
I haven’t played the Online mode yet — what’s the consensus? Put the game on hold entirely and am waiting for the 4 DLC characters to be added, since it would be a waste to buy them after having completed the story when they’re voicing lines for the entire campaign.
-
Please tell me that this isn't a joke on 1. of April, because the only reason i haven't deleted the game yet is because i am waiting for exactly this patch.
ID: gt2rwd1Not a joke. The devs did an AMA on the Watch Dogs sub (click the thread link) and that was one of the questions that they answered. They didn't give a timetable on the release though.
ID: gt2sft0I hope soon. I want to play the game, because i visited London some years ago and this would be the first open world i do know for myself. But for some strange reason the 30 FPS look horrible in this game, i stopped playing it after an hour.

Oh look, it's a Watch Dogs Legion thread, jeez I wonder what the comments will be.
This is good, I'm really liking devs adding options to play, good shit.
ID: gt34yzhWhat do that comments usually say?
ID: gt35r0qUsually it's that the game is boring and mediocre, which is possible(I haven't played it), but gets tiring.

Gonna throw you a curve ball with a little of everything. I really like the idea of Play as Anyone. I think they did a great job with the city, and I like the style of it. I’m a bit torn, as I would really like them to announce info on when all 4 DLC characters from the season pass will be in the game. They’re each going to have fully voiced lines not just for the expansion but for the base game, so I decided to hold off on playing more until I can get Aidan and Wrench from WD 1+2, Darcy (an assassin and descendent of Jacob and Evie Frye of AC: Syndicate) and Mina, someone who has been experimented on and has mind control powers.
I also really want to play with invasions into my campaign — I loved them in previous entries. Trying to track down someone hiding in your game was a really cool element. Flying around the city on a construction drone is super cool. Very excited for 60fps but I also think the raytracing adds quite a lot to the look of the city. I do wish they actually leaned harder into Play as Anyone, so not everyone could hack a computer, or fire a gun. I realize that might be too much for some people, but I think it would have added to the importance of recruiting a well rounded team.
I do have a few complaints though. I feel like they’ve removed some things from WD1+2 that make Legion feel empty. The Digital Trips of the first game would make more sense than ever in a futuristic London, with people playing augmented reality in the park. I miss being able to flip traffic lights and cause collisions, and blackout the city. Calling in gang hits and the cops on NPCs too. They could have folded this into recruiting members of the different gangs and cops. I feel like there were more options to overload phones and make things explode in previous games too.
WD2 had so much to do on every city block — there was always a stack of cash to find in an environmental puzzle, or a bit of XP, or a unique vehicle, unique clothing, skins for your RC car, drone, weapons, and also pawn shops, car dealerships, etc. Only having access to a car by playing a person that owns that model is frustrating — let us at least buy one. I also miss the hacks that would show you the insides of people’s apartments and homes and the crazy things they were doing. And side content to photograph the various landmarks, graffiti, street performers, the selfies and how the crowds would react, the dancing, etc.
And from the first game, getting a warning when a suspected crime was about to take place, and having to observe to see who it was and stop them if you chose. There’s a lot to like about Legion but I don’t get why so much of this stuff was removed, and with the online releasing so long after launch, I can’t help but think they should have delayed it a full year to release it as a full package. I wonder if there will be a WD sequel, and if they’ll continue the Play as Anyone functionality, or if this might be the end of the series?

This guys are doing everything to bring this game back from the toilet
-
Great but... I’m not going to stop playing now to start after that
-
As a guy who loves to watchdog 2, hate this game. So boring
ID: gt3il1dWD2 didn’t get nearly enough credit. Sure, the main story wasn’t anything special, and there was a bit of dissonance between the fun loving criminals and the ability to go out and kill a bunch of cops without the story reflecting it. Personally, I chose to hack and use non-lethal methods so it didn’t affect me. But they had a rich world with an amazing combination of systems that the AI is governed by, and I loved all the various things you could find and do around town.
Also miss being able to call in a gang hit on someone that talked shit to me after I accidentally bumped into them while running, and then calling in the cops on the gang members, and then calling in the gang members on the cops, and just creating this huge clusterfuck. Also blacking out the city, flipping the traffic lights, etc. and the Bay Area was a great setting for the game too.
ID: gt3ekjqOkay see glad I’m not the only one. I wanted my money back and I got it for free. (Library)
ID: gt3jhcuReally enjoyed the first Watch Dogs, but hated the second one. Legion sits somewhere in the middle for me
-
I will re download it again when it does
-
I wish they'd do the same to assassins creed odyssey
-
And why exactly did it take them this long? Stop developing these games with a 30fps cap ffs.
-
There's hope for the game yet. Good thing i didn't trade it in yet.
-
Bruh I was just about to buy it. It doesn't have 60fps???
ID: gt2mt6mDon't you research games before buying them?
ID: gt2n7qgI liked the previous installments and figured that, because it got a PS5 release, it would have a 60fps mode.
ID: gt2owyeI'd guess about 98% of people don't. I do, and I'd bet a lot of the people who frequent this sub do but we are definitely the minority.
ID: gt38gqgNot when they're put out by All Time Trusted Brand Ubisoft Betterment for Mankind Through Video Games Medium. It's a guaranteed smasher!
-
I loved WD1 and WD2 not enough to replay them ever again but I 100% both. I tried Legion during the free weekend and the animations are bad, driving is bad, and npcs are lifeless. It's now Dog Water: Legion.
-
Maybe I’ll go back for the platinum whenever this happens
-
I’ll care when my PS4 trophies carry over. They fixed it for Valhalla. Why not this?
-
This has been sitting unopened on my shelf and I’ve been waiting for this. I don’t even care about the ray tracing or the resolution just make it 60 so it doesn’t run like ass
ID: gt3iouuI’m sure you’ll end up playing in 60fps but do give the raytracing mode a shot, if nothing else for pictures. The city looks fantastic. I think Control is probably the best use of it so far on the PS5, but WD:L does a good job with it.
-
Just plat'd today. Mixed emotions atm
-
they should patch the damn patchup trophy
-
Is this game actually worth playing? I was excited about the play as anyone mechanic when they first announced it but when it released I watched a few reviews and it seemed more like a toothless gimmick than a deep experience, plus all the game as service bullshit they tacked on made me wanna steer clear. Still think about picking it up when I can for ten bucks but don't even know if it's worth the time as a free game.
-
Awesome, then I might end up playing this at some point in the future. I'm guessing the label of being literally the only game on PS5 without a 60fps mode got to them, hopefully if there's enough good-intentioned criticism of any other games that forego that option, we can maintain a consistent standard for most of the generation, even if it's just a really toned-down performance mode that looks like shit as developers fall back to focusing on 30fps in a few years.
-
Lets go!
-
Neat. I just picked it up for cheap, so that's something to look forward to.
-
I just started playing the game
-
Coming from PC, it's pretty pathetic that devs have to patch in 60fps in next-gen versions of games.
-
I mean what option do they have? Older consoles didn’t have the strength to do so earlier. Better than Ubisoft selling an updated version at a premium like some companies are doing.
-
Damn close one. I tried the PS4 free trial and it was at 30. If I liked it, I would have bought the PS5 version thinking it was running at 60 lol
-
Wait really? Well, that sucks that it wasn’t already 60FPS cause I was just about to buy it for $20 at GameStop
-
great now u can die from boredom @ 60fps
-
You can enjoy more smoothness before getting bored
-
Now if it could just get a patch to make it fun, we'd be set.

Does autodrive even work? I tried the demo and my car just kept going in circles lol.
