It’s pretty minor so obviously I’d prefer Sony focus on more important things first, like VRR or SSD support etc, but this tiny issue has been a bit annoying for me.
If a game has a photo mode, then it’s not a big deal you just wait a few seconds and do it again, but in games without a photo mode where timing is important, it would be nice not to have that icon in your second screenshot. Sometimes you can crop it out, but often if you take some screenshots in a cutscene, the characters are framed in a specific way that cropping it makes it look disproportionate.
Again, not a massive issue and is low priority, but I know it’s feasible since other devices can do it too.

PS4 had the ability to turn off the screenshot icon. Wish that was brought over automatically for PS5....
ID: gvi5ptcID: gvi5vzbJust in case...I'm not saying we could take screenshots on PS3. What I'm trying to say is that we lost some QOL features during the transition (like folders).
ID: gvhsp7yOh it did? I wasn’t even aware of that, hopefully they can do it for PS5 too then.
I didn’t take much screenshots on PS4 until the end of the generation-ish, Spider-Man specifically had a great photo mode and it made me obsessed with taking screenshots lol. Every PS4 game I played afterwards I took screenshots constantly, like TLOU 2 and Ghost of Tsushima
ID: gvit0llREALLY?!? I can't believe I didn't know that; it would have been so handy.

I want an option between 30 SECONDS and FIVE MINUTES for recording video. Like wtf??
ID: gvig6x5I agree that would be very nice, I’ve often had to save a 5 minute long video and trim it down just because I was a few seconds off my mark
ID: gvit58lYeh we need an option for 2 minutes.

If I want more than one screen shot I just video record and screenshot the video in editor.
ID: gvhvs03I hadn’t considered doing that before, wouldn’t the quality take a dive from being a video screenshot though?
ID: gvi0jx5I guess it depends what resolution you have video recording set at. Either way it’s a lot easier to just be able to press the button
ID: gviagwhI’ve never noticed a drop in quality, but I’m not sure that I couldn’t happen.
ID: gvidua8You might need to change your video recording settings, it defaults to 1080 but it can be set to 4k with MP4 format.
ID: gvhzr6yDo it and report back. Quality is in the eye of the beholder.
ID: gvhvtrgThat’s what I call a genious move

Yeah this would be great!! Something else I’ve noticed is if you move the camera too quickly after taking the first shot, the second shot will be blurred slightly. On PS4 you could move right after pressing the capture button with no issues but it seems to take PS5 an extra second to do this.

100% needs a patch

It boggles my mind when such features are regressed when upgrading to a new console. Same thing happened when we transitioned from PS3 to PS4. I love taking random pictures outside of photo mode and it's hard to do because of the notification. On PS4 I used to press the screenshot button multiple times during gameplay scenarios that looked great and I didn't want to interrupt by going into photo mode. I was able to capture some great pictures that way. Hopefully they bring the option back sooner rather than later.
Another quality of life change I'd like to see is for them to speed up the dark overlay that appears on the top and bottom of pictures when cycling through them in the gallery. I haven't timed it but the overlay stays put for around 2 seconds (maybe 3) and it feels like an eternity when you are cycling through many pictures.
