I think I have this exact model in my closet. Is this the 1GB unit?

ID: gvu1r28

Yes it’s the 1GB model

Nice! How much did it cost you, and how much value does it has? I’m running in fossils here, if i can step up for cheaper. I’d gladly do.

I payed €50 for a pc locally with a “2nd or 3rd gen i5” (was a i3 550 so kinda got screwed over) with this in it. Haven’t tested it yet besides posting but will do.

Ah i see, thank you anyways.

Funnily enough I bought two R7 240 three years ago for ~80€ and they got cheaper. Seems like demand doesn't reach quite that far back.

I bought mine for £180 on release day and it was really an amazing card. Its probably pretty worthless at this point however, very outdated. Maybe a 5870 would still be OK for something but idk any lower.

ID: gvuquoe

5870/5850 can still game better than most iGPUs.

This and the 5000 series were so awesome.

My Crosssfired 5850s absolutely shredded Crysis back in the day

I definitely remember being super fond of my 3850... before that, I'd always bought mid-stack and regretted it.

Now I have to buy mid stack because top tier costs as much as a whole system used to...

ID: gvvfi6k

3850 was the start of my hardware addiction <3

ID: gvva7pr

I also have a HD 3850 512mb laying around somewhere.

ID: gvv7fld

I had crossfire 4850s for yeaaars. They were beasts

ID: gvve65j

I had a 6970 until last year lol

5 : Anonymous2021/04/25 18:02 ID: gvuaatx

A wonderfully odd, garish card.

ID: gvuq6ho

Love the design on older cards like these.

6 : Anonymous2021/04/25 18:20 ID: gvucmzv

and i think the 3850/70 before it were like the only gpu's to use gddr4, i know they even had gddr3 variants for the dual gpu cards. not many gddr4 cards got made.

ID: gvuoo89

As far as I can remember the 3870 was the only card equipped with it that wasn't a specialty card.

X1950 XTX had GDDR4

ID: gvuj307

TIL GDDR4 existed.

ID: gvvhofz

My 2900 XT has GDDR4. But yeah, not many cards had GDDR4, AFAIK, only the 1950 XTX, a variant of the 2600 XT, a variant of the 2900 XT and the 3870 did. I'm not sure if there were 3850's with GDDR4.

There was apparently also versions of the 4850 with GDDR4.

Probably right. I bought a 4770 when they first came out. First midrange and 40nm gpu with ddr5

ID: gvvivs7

Yup 4770 user here, what a great buy it was at the time. Played Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 so much with that card. It is currently my troubleshooting gpu.

8 : Anonymous2021/04/25 19:52 ID: gvuocpp

Damn dude I had the Saphire version of it. Such a beast.

9 : Anonymous2021/04/25 21:43 ID: gvv23ty

Yo, that cooler shroud is lit, haha. I miss goofy GPU, erm......graphics (I'm so sorry lol) like this. When all cards had box art cooler than alot of games at the time, at least to my dumb kid brain.

That’s not old. I’m looking at a X1950XT box that I’m getting ready to sell.

11 : Anonymous2021/04/25 21:27 ID: gvv04zv

I sold my 4890 years ago but that thing was huge

12 : Anonymous2021/04/25 23:40 ID: gvvfmye

512mb of ddr5 memory in 2008 was a luxury i bet. But i can see ur other comments saying u have the 1gb variant. I bet that was even better

ID: gvvfq64

It’s actually the 1GB model but yeah I bet I would have been quit the luxury

ID: gvvg9v6

Like in my computer class, i have an optiplex 9020 with an HD 8490, rocking an amazing 1gb ddr3.

13 : Anonymous2021/04/26 00:01 ID: gvvht2r

Will look pretty on my mining rig.

14 : Anonymous2021/04/26 01:06 ID: gvvoxa7

I remember my first amd GPU was the 4350 1gb ddr2.
