probably shouldn't try and jump through this one.
in all seriousness this is incredible
ID: gvy1nbkID: gvyd417Time: 21.000001 seconds
FUUUUUU
ID: gvyl8b2Omfg I heard it the SECOND I saw this!
ID: gvy3oo4so pretty
ID: gvyowdrInstantly started humming
ID: gvy65ntIt always bugged me that you couldn't fly through this painting in 64! Seemed like a prime painting for a darker side-esque final challenge.
ID: gvyhiu9Yeah same, I thought that outside cannon was would would get me into that painting into a final boss or star
Hours, months I’d send Marios helpless body splattering into the side of the castle
ID: gvynp76Too late. The princess is in another castle.
ID: gvykixhI misread the last word as "inedible", and now I want this design on a cake.
-
"Dear Mario,
Please come to the castle. I've baked a cake for you.
Yours truly,
Princess Toadstool (Peach)"
*queues Lakitu hovering around the castle yard. Close in on a rising green pipe. Everyone's favorite plumber jumps through.
1996 vibes
ID: gvyqju8That’s the first thing I think of seeing this painting.
ID: gvzdmp0I hummed:
dun, dun dun, dadadadun

Can't tell if actual stained glass or not. Sort of looks like simulated stained glass by painting on the back of a glass panel and using some sort of black silicone/puff paint to simulate the solder seams.
ID: gvyfxp1There are paint cracks on the darker yellow and some other parts, it definitely looks like simulated stained glass.
ID: gvylf1yThat would be like $200 worth of glass if it was the real shit.
ID: gvyp9sxI make stained glass, a lot of the cuts are impossible so it's not real but looks really cool
ID: gvyjsb1Damn this is awesome!
ID: gvy6zzhI imagine that's exactly what it is. Authentic stained glass would take a good amount of specialized equipment I imagine. Still cool nonetheless.
ID: gvyaaimTrue, but my high school had a stained glass class, so it’s not wild to imagine others would have it. I took that class but we never made anything close to that complicated with that amount of pieces since it would just take too long. Then again there’s always that one kid who does the most...it could be an example the teacher of the class did.
ID: gvylctnNot much specialized equipment, it is a fairly inexpensive hobby to get into, couple hundred dollars in start up costs most expensive either the glass or the grinder which is about 50 bucks if you just are trying it out. Like all hobbies you can spend through the nose but for a beginner not so bad.
ID: gvygnnoDoes anyone know how this was made, frfr? I think that it does seem like puffy paint to outline the figure, but I wonder, what kind of paint is used for the actual coloring? Up close, it looks like it sort of cracked in some paces... I wonder, is there a better way to do this?
ID: gvyhzc2Most likely painted on the backside of a piece of glass and a puff paint or maybe something like silicone or glue gun that’s been painted black on the top. Looks like they applied something to the backside paint to make it crackle, probably to replicate textured glass. They probably just used a cheap picture frame.
ID: gvyks1dThe easiest way(a bit cheaty) is to just take a screen shot of this window in game, or find it online, have it printed on whatever size poster you are aiming for, set it under a piece of glass and follow the lines with black silicone or whoever you want to use for the borders, then it’s just a matter of coloring in pieces.
ID: gvymawuIt may not be what OP used, but if you're interested in doing something like this, check out Gallery Glass. It's a gel paint that looks like stained glass. My mom has done a ton of projects with it and it looks really nice!
ID: gvyj7j9If you look at the paint cracks in peach’s hair, you’re bang on correct
ID: gvyjpa7It's not lead light that's a certainty. And that arm would be a nightmare to cut if it was foil. I would assume it's paint.

Hey OP you should find the person and show them this post. They’ll be glad so many people enjoy their work
ID: gvyn379For real. I was coming here to say this. So many people love it. You should show this thread to the artist.
Edit: If I were the artist I would LOVE to know if my work was floating around the internet and making conversation.
ID: gvytclcGotta love reddit, nobody takes 5 seconds to check OP’s post history to see they’re just another shitty reposter.
I’ve probably seen this painted glass a dozen times, whoever the real artist is did a good job, wonder if they know how many people try to steal their work for internet points.

Awesome
-
Sorry, your princess is in another painting
-
Perfectly Peachy!
-
Just like the windows in the tower in Mario 64! So good!
-
Damn this is awesome!
-
Is this a painting or glass? I no kidding cant tell but I'm assuming its a painting
ID: gvy6b5yIf this is like the project I did back in high school, then it's actually paint on glass. Or rather I believe it's a sheet of acrylic. The lines are a thick sticky paint that drys very quickly, and if you make a mistake the only way is to peel it with an exacto knife. I made a mistake with mine, and ended up stabbing my thumb... I still have the scar about a decade later.
I wish we were allowed to do whatever we wanted though, because I think we had to make them an animal or insects specifically, and I just did a dragonfly. Would've loved doing something from a video game or favorite movie.
ID: gvyk3ibYou can see some of the cracks in the paint when it dried in her hair.
