CS:GO would work on PS5 and the wheel based weapon selection is already built into the game.
PS3 had both Orange Box and Portal 2 so the PS5 is perfect for additional Valve games.
ID: gxrnrrhI think it could work on a more casual level with gyroscope aiming. As long as people don’t expect eSports level competition. I’d most likely enjoy playing it on console.

ID: gxrootrWould you have to have played Half Life 2 to understand what’s going on in HL:Alyx? I started HL:2 like 10 years ago and never finished, and I’m not sure that I’m going to get around to it at this point. But I keep hearing good things about Alyx.
ID: gxrpmikIt's pretty self contained, but obviously you'd benefit from having an understanding of what happens in HL2. A YouTube summary will get you 90% of the way there, but your enjoyment of the game won't be impacted at all by not playing hl2.

Probably gonna see Portal 2 for Switch, CS:GO for current and next gen for the F2P babbies, HL Alyx for PSVR2 and Oculus, and maybe Black Mesa for consoles.

Would re-buy The Orange Box for $60-70 especially if it included Portal 2 this time around.
Just don't let EA do the ports. They seriously botched the PS3 version.

ID: gxs6gxeThey weren't really Steam consoles though. More like pre-built PCs, which were also limited by the SteamOS/Linux, and also cost more than any console. Wasn't really a surprise that they didn't sell that well.

The most obvious would be Xbox Game Pass on Steam (they've already launched EA Play on the service so they're not adverse to third-party subscriptions) and a port of Half-Life Alyx to PSVR2.

This comes after the Epic v Apple lawsuit reveals Phil Spencer has been meeting with Gabe several times already. While there's speculation about things like game pass on Steam, there's basically zero indication Gabe is doing anything with playstation.

Maybe some version of Dota 2? PS5 can easily run that game on high settings, as long as it has fully keyboard and mouse support it would be fine. Or maybe some console version of Dota 2. Same with CSGO.
The idea behind Dota 2 is that League of Legends is preparing to release a console version of their game.

Lol @ people who think the Steam store is coming to PlayStation or Xbox. Both companies sell their hardware at a lose and make that money up in software sales. Why would either one put a competing store on their console when it would mean they can’t guarantee money from people who purchase an Xbox or PlayStation?
