So i played my first few games, got no kills and lost all the starter guns given to me while wondering around like a bot. I bought 3 makarovs and accidentally bought 60 mags. I did some more runs and kept losing my gear. Then i was at like 40k money left and took my last makarov with 2 mags and a ikea rig. Qued into factory and made my way into office. killed a lvl 31 player in some staircase, took his ppsh and sv98. Sprayed down 2 more players in the staircase with the ppsh and filled my inventory with loot. I decided i should head for a extract and so i did, killed 5 scavs with the ppsh while trying to find the right exit. Thankfully the extract was clear and i got out safely. Now i cant wait to get home and try my luck again.

We highly recommend looking into EFT's Sherpa program.
Sherpa's are BSG officiated player's who take time out out of their gameplay to teach new players Escape From Tarkov.
They will help you with everything from gun builds, learning an unfamiliar map, to brand new player basics.
If you want to request a sherpa, follow the directions on their official discord.

Use your scav every time it's off cooldown to not only learn maps, but get some free loot and money.
ID: gyk054vID: gyk4dvyI like interchange for quick money scav runs. You can go around the back and check tool boxes and there's a spot for car batteries too, a lot of computers if you want, etc... Very safe, I usually extract over 99% of the time.
ID: gyk12gpIt's good for PVP practice too because you're inherently disadvantaged, so you think smart etc.

ID: gyk3mtsYup lol me and my buddy started playing together, first game we both died in mine field xD we lost all of our guns on first day but my buddy is quite good at reading maps so we did quite a few escapes and managed so scavenge some guns, we just enter NPC game with one pistol, find extraction point and loot up near then GTFO ASAP lol then back to scav game and repeat. This game so hardcore it's insane but I love it its amazing

Hahaha man, this is real shit. I remember accidentally buying 40 AI-2's instead of 4. Felt like the most tragic mistake in the universe at the time. Welcome to the suck my dude.
Here's some newbie advice: Don't buy mosin magazines, they are internal, and you cannot reload them in raid.

Play each map in offline mode a few times to learn them. It really helps learn the evacs and scav spawns.
Would also recommend finding a group to play squads with when you learn things a bit better. Squads really help questing

Use the sherpa hut discord for help, meny people there actually take the time to play and teach with newer players. U will learn 10x faster then trying to figuring stuff out urself.

I felt so bad man... I'm only a level 20 but yesterday I killed a level 2 on woods who had just killed a level 32 and gotten his gear. I was so shocked when I saw the level 2 dog tag, I definitely wasn't out there killing level 30 PMCs as a level 2 lmao. If you're out there, sorry man!

factory is great for starting. you can run with shitty gear and still have a chance because most people go in light. and also it really helps with getting a hang of the game mechanics and getting more comfortable with everything.

Its often suggested already, but scavs mode gives a ready to go setup, great for learning the game. Nothing to lose.

So if you feel you had a really bad start you can always reset your character and get the starter guns again. I think its found in the bsg website in your account. Practice some pvp and you can always try again.
