- Huge fps difference Windows 10 vs Windows 8.1
-
180 FPS??? Man what settings are you using? I have a 3700X/RTX3070 and 16GB DDR4 3200MHz ram and cannot get over 80 fps lol
ID: gzawef6ID: gzb9zmqHe’s running at 1080p in offline mode.
ID: gzbb815Woah I have a 1060, 16gb DDR4 and I’m getting around 100fps. Google Tarkov optimization for low end PC and follow the guide!
Edit: in online mode
ID: gzbhue7You mean those „guides“ where they show you the settings menu and how you turn down everything to low? Yeah, those are super valuable.
ID: gzbpdkeDo you have your fps capped by chance? I have a 3070 and a 5800x ryzen and have no issues getting high 100s at 1440
ID: gzbuoaaIts labs if you cant get that you have all ur settings in bios at default or something lol. On my old pc 3770k and gtx 780 i easily get 144 on labs

Which there's was a Windows 10 edition for gamers. I have all sorts of things changed to boost fps across the board for all games like gamemode, power mode, etc. but those who don't know shit about win10 or computers in general would find it hard to do so.
Win10 is so fucking bloated compared to win7
In the end i miss win7 ;(
ID: gzad6kkIn the end i miss win7 ;(
yes
ID: gzapi1oWin 7 was bae. I was using it up until I recently upgraded my CPU, Mobo & RAM.
ID: gzb9tbmFrom an IT standpoint, fuck every rendition of windows that isn't WS 2019 and windows 10.
ID: gzbdlbyI work IT as well and I 100% agree with you on this but as a user standpoint man win7 was so nice. You don't know how many times I've removed into someone's computer manually pull up the old win7 control panel on win10 and every user I talk to is like "WOAH WOAH WOAH HOWD YOU DO THAT! If I knew I could get to this I could've fixed my problem without calling."
ID: gzab7d8Is there a site for these changes? My game over the last few months has gotten worse and I think it was due to a forced update of windows 10. I hate w10 over w7 its never run as good
ID: gzasra6Vipers debloat script. Google windows debloat look for github results
ID: gzb8do1Just get the ltsb/ltsc version of w10
-
Developer's apparantly don't like that windows 10 life
ID: gzb8tqbwindows 10 simply uses more resources than win 8.
it has more bloatware and it is newer so they expect people to have stronger computers so they allow themselves to use more resources.ID: gzbkfsqye, the worst thing is that the updates are mandatory and even if u remove all bloatware, it gets reinstalled each update
ID: gzbb4apSounds like modern game design
-
It is offline game without AI. Also its an avarage of 3 tests each OS.
Driver version & cpu, ram frequency & graphic settings are exactly same.ID: gzawks1You should really post your benchmarks in online mode. I know its tedious but its otherwise a bit misleading.
ID: gzay58xunlike you said, benchmarks are more accurated in offline mode without scavs if you compare. online mode has many variables like alive players, items, scavs, server status etc.
ID: gzbb265How is it misleading in any way? Offline allows for an identical comparison.

Did you disable game mode and Game DVR?
Does Windows 8.1 compatibility settings make a difference in Windows 10?
Is your Swap file and Page file on your primary drive?
ID: gzbtiv3what do you mean by swap and page files?
ID: gzbv616You can't download more RAM but your computer may write data from your RAM on your HDD sometimes, which is interesting for memory intensive stuff (like games).
The swap/page file refers to those files. The swap file(s?) are pretty small, the pagefile can be pretty large, depending on your usage.
You can check that in System Properties/Advanced/Performance/Advanced/Virtual Memory (virtual usually refers to something you don't actually have, like a virtual machine).
I personally haven't changed the virtual memory settings for a long time (I don't mind someone schooling me on the subject). Different people recommend different sizes, but I think it's generally recommended to put it into an SSD that's not used as much with a fixed size, since windows may change the size which might result in hiccups - I haven't seen something like that in ages. But I'm also using 32GB.
But check online guides on setting the pagefile.sys. It should be a pretty experimental thing, too. It's obviously going to be a better source than this.

Your GPU is seeing a 10-12% increase in usage from W10 to W8. Not sure what's restricting your GPU from being fully utilized. Research how to put your GPU into msi mode for W10 and see if that makes a difference.
ID: gzaqn41more GPU/CPU usage - more fps. Thats why Woods are running so good (high fps) because gpu and cpu are more stressed.
-
Who tf still has a pc with windows 8 on it?
ID: gz9yby3The people developing the game, clearly.
ID: gzbetikleave that shit in 2013

windows settings-gaming-top right side select graphics settings- turn on both HA GPU and VRR.. Helps my games immensely.
-
Wow I didn’t realize there was this many people having issues with this game! I know it’s unoptimized as frack, but 40-70 FPS in this game with micro stutters just makes me feel bad for you guys! I run 9900k OC 5Ghz, 32gb 3000mhz cl16, 1080ti on 2560x1440p and online get consistent all maps 70-120fps! The in game settings really frack you if your looking for crazy detail. Also in navidia settings you have to choose specific settings to really get the best visual and FPS. Def a pain in the ass but worth it if you play as much as I do! If you would like specifics on settings if you have a similar set up as mine I’d be more then happy to help!
-
win 10 is bloated. not lean
ID: gzbs6diAny way to remove the bloat?
-
you have to be trolling, there is no single sane person using windows 8
-
I spend half my time on my computer trying to make it run things better. Tarkov still can't stay above 60fps, occasionally even drops to 40. Sometimes I can get over 100fps on offline with no pve. Then when I feel like I got it going pretty well, play a raid for real, and a wild microstutter appears! Ram DOCP enabled, power mode set to maximum, with and without overclocks to cp
, Nvidia settings optimized, overlays off, physical cores only and ram cleaning on and off, fresh windows reinstall, ethernet/wireless, you name it I've probably done it. Nothing will keep this game over 80fps consistently for me and it's frustrating to see people with less hardware running it as smooth as MW2019.-liquid cooled Ryzen 7 3700x, Strix RTX3080 OC, 32gb 3200mhz ram, WD Black sn750 1tb m.2 nvme, and 460mbps download/24mbps upload on last check. Windows 10 of course
ID: gzb13arThe single core boost clock on your cpu is probably your bottleneck. Idk what you colling situation is but you might wanna try to overclock and do all core fixed. Monitor temps and stability closely though.
ID: gzb4afgNot at all lol my R5 3600 / GTX 1080 / 2x8gb 3733 MHz on a SN550 has better FPS than his setup and that's fucked.
-
Maybe your setup for win 10 isn't the best for performance? Game mode/bar, battery mode, etc.
ID: gza8u6ui optimize everything to get higher performance included disabling meltdown security vulnerability patches. Actually its known issue that windows 8.1 is better for tarkov but i didnt expect that much difference. This video shows %13 higher.
Also i played online game with my friend which has same cpu&ram clocks moreover he has rtx3080. While we heading in the same direction difference was above %17.
Tarkov is suck on windows 10.ID: gzb3vltPlease put the % after the number, I'm tweaking over here.
ID: gza9ppzIt's that Widow 10 sucks, my game ran better on W10 with a 4690k and 32G DDR3 RAM than it does now on 9700k and faster 32G DDR4.
-
Assuming compatibility mode won’t make a difference?
-
Should revert back to Win 8.1 in that case
-
Windows 10 is a hog, in other news the sky is blue
-
Sadly this applies to pretty much any usage that is more or less GPU-limited, be it gaming or mining what I've noticed on daily usage in bit over two months I've had to use Windows 10 after years of 8.1. It keeps a tad of GPU power in reserve which cannot be utilized by any means, garbage OS in that regard. 🙁
-
You could make a windows install with all the bloat removed with MSMG and test that. I’m curious if it’s just the background processes.
-
How the hell do you get 180fps in this game? I have a 5800x, rx6800xt with 32gbs of ddr4 ram and can only ever get about 100 FPS max (usually around 80fps) and that in both offline and online raids. It doesn’t make much sense to me I try playing the game at 2k medium setting and get about 50-60fps but if I bump it up to 2k high settings it goes up to 100fps????
-
Having 32gb of ram matters squat for fps you guys should really mention the speed
For instance i guarentee my 16gb 4000mhz ram is better than 32gb 3200mhz
-
As already said you gpu isn't hitting 100% usage. Go check your NVIDIA control panel settings
-
Could this be because the old version of unity is better optimized for 8.1 over 10? and maybe once we get unity 19 well see better numbers?
-
Are you running Xbox game recording or whatever it's called without knowing it?
-
You didn’t know they don’t have window 10 is Russia yet?
-
It's because you're getting 10%+ more GPU utilization from the 8.1 PC for some reason. I'd be inclined to think that's more of a driver problem or something unrelated to Windows itself. Your ram utilization also doesn't make any sense. I have a windows 8 disc that if I wasn't so God damn lazy I might try to test on my system, but I find this too dramatically different to be repeatable for everyone. It's probably more unique to your system specs, for whatever reason.
Any chance you'd be willing to test other demanding games? Will give us a better idea of the culprit. Could also be unity settings.
-
what tarky runs better in win 8 ? bro don't troll me because i will install this on a separate sdd just to run tarky a lil bit better 😛
-
Disable the windows game bar and disable the capture. Should help a bit
-
Wouldn't matter so much if tarkov wasn't a bloated mess as well
-
Not surprised.
-
happy cake day
-
Why, thank you, very kind.
-
Nice work, BSG
-
And then people wonder why i still use Win7...
-
I was running Windows 7 up until a couple months ago, actually saw a 5-10 fps increase when I finally switched to W10.
-
My PC is Intel/Nvidia and my GFs is all AMD, She gets better framerate than I do. Have there been any actual statements from BSG or testers that the game doesn't run as well on AMD hardware?
-
What parts do you have? If you’re running a GTX 750 or 950and she has modern parts no shit it’ll run better, but if you’re running equal parts or very similar, Intel runs massively better. Tarkov runs on unity, unity is partnered with Intel, unity has stated that Intel runs better than AMD on it. And I am a tester, and have noticed the difference, I used to run AMD on my PC, a 970ti and an AMD CPU, I swapped the CPU for an I5 of slightly better performance, and it ran much better on Tarkov, then I upgraded again to actual good relatively new parts, 1080, 7700K, and 16GB of ram, and my game runs at 90+ FPS on medium settings 1080p, no reshade/effects.
-
They've said that they develop with Intel in mind. I would say most games do, if you go looking you can find some stats that say things like Intel has 60% of the market share compared to AMD.
-
Is this true for other games too?
-
i guess it is but cpu intense online simulation games like squad, dcs world, arma etc. i will try squad soon.
-
How TF I get like 50 fps with a 1080 / ryzen 7 What am I doing wrong??
-
Probably alot of things, Probably have viruses and a bunch of background apps, hw accel ect
