ID: gzehop3It's pretty common for games to assume things happen that the players didn't see. Pokemon has no canon day/night cycles outside of following real world time, but if you think the player ACTUALLY travels the entire region and collects 8+ badges and wins a championship all in two days or so, that's pretty crazy.
I'd guess the pilgrimage takes about 6 months, but it could be more or less. The calm lands are meant to represent a huge mass of flattened earth, that the player can through in about 5 minutes, but I get the impression it's supposed to feel like several days. And who can honestly climb a mountain in a day?
It would also dimish Tidus and Yuna's relationship as well as character growth from people like Wakka, Lulu, and Auron.
Also, it begs the question of why more summoners don't succeed. If the journey is really so short, that takes away one of its greatest challenges.

It doesn' take into account several factors such as the player sleeping in Inns and events throughout the game. I doubt Tidus and Yuna fell in love in 14 days. Wakka stopped being a racist in just two weeks? His entire world and beliefs turned upside down?
You really think Yuna's wedding with Seymour was arranged in less than a week? Its a big event marked in the history of Spira.
Plus we don't see everytime they sleep or rest for the sake of not making the game drag like a snail.
The entire pilgrimage takes way longer than mere two weeks.

ID: gzef6ybNot unlikely if you talk about "in game days". But I bet it could've been months between the times where those two lines were written in the script. That just demonstrates the attention to details FF shows.
