- How I still feel about Outriders right now, anybody else?

Amazing. There's been so many disastrous launches that I think the industry's ambitions have exceeded their ability to deliver.
ID: h15y3swID: h17t1ibI mean, they could have kept working on their game. And consumers could punish by not buying. Everyone is complicit in where we’re at.

Lol I love Ryan George
ID: h15qx9aSo you have a movie for me?
ID: h1623x3Yessir I do. It revolves around humanity needing to relocate planets because you know, they trashed their own planet. This is completely unrelated to Interstellar or Civilization: Beyond Earth.
ID: h16et11But how are we going to make them buy an unfinished game?
It'll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Modern gaming in a nutshell. Outriders, Cyperpunk 2077, Avengers, Fallout 76, etc... Early Access Gaming has ruined the industry.
ID: h15m29q100% yes!!
ID: h179jzvIt also brought out a lot of amazing gems which otherwise would've never been released. The indy scene is absolutely crushing it.
It's a double edged sword though; the shit side is where big publishers came into play.
ID: h17twipThere have been a few early access games that have turned out really well, or are at least coming together. Subnautica was great. I'm following hardspace: shipbreaker. The updates are slow but the game works as intended. Dyson sphere program is spitting out updates almost weekly.

i've been stung by Cyberpunk. I've been stung by Outriders.
I will never pre-order a game again and will wait at least 2 months after release to sift through feedback and issues. Fuck these companies promising the world then not delivering. Legit should be illegal. You'd be protected (via legally required warrenty) if you got a car and it was missing its wheels, the gearbox didn't work and the engine kept stalling even though the promo was promised it with wheels, a working gearbox and an engine that didnt cut out every 10 mins why not with digital content too?

ID: h15pelkIn all honesty i never even looked at Anthem when it was hyped before release or after release. I was into other things when it was about.

lmao!

Brilliant! No one can argue this.
ID: h15m0v1Sure you can. Producing a puzzle is several orders of magnitude easier than producing a video game.
Doesn't excuse shitty game launches, but this comparision is useless and not even funny (to me).
ID: h15o6cqProducing a puzzle is several orders of magnitude easier than producing a video game.
You're technically correct, which is the best kind of correct

That is definitely a funny video 🙂

I bought Outriders knowing the issues as I did it on the 25% discount. I liked the demo and it was very stable for me so I was and am happy with my purchase.
I was stung by both FO76 and Anthem, both with devs I no longer support, if PCF does just drop the game like an Anthem then I would probably do the same, but until then I will still lean to the side of seeing the game improved.
ID: h16gy02I got outriders for free, and im wishing i got a different game for free instead...
ID: h16pgvaI got outriders as part of game pass, so I was more accepting than many who paid of the launch issues
I played the hell out of it for a week and uninstalled hoping it would eventually get better but knowing it was likely the last i'd ever seen of the game.
The above comment on early access gaming having killed the industry in my opinion has also been exponentially exacerbated by the existence of twitch/streaming culture ensuring that all of the bugs in their games are also found as soon as possible.
theoretically helpful on finding the bugs quickly, but the speed with which the 'community' - a term i'm using rather loosely here - can absolutely cancel a game if the fixes aren't deemed to be quick enough is mind blowing.
As a gamer, I'm left torn... I want new games with difficult to achieve elements included. I get excited about all the things we all do... but I also want some company somewhere to set a standard by not releasing their god forsaken games until they're actually finished.

These developers are idiots.the game is so unplayable its studid.where is the pride?they just wanted a fast buck I've been gaming for 40 years never seen anything like this
ID: h15pqvcYou must not be aware of many games in general and the game is very playable for many of us.
ID: h15y9qrDefine "very playable". There are literally 2k people playing this game right now, from a peak of 125k.
ID: h16jiq2I've played at least 25 games a year for 40 years from what I see it's more unplayable for more than not.i just hope they fix it and dont tarnish their name for good

ID: h15y69eI don't know about never. This is getting pretty bad.
ID: h164793I mean it's been pretty bad for a while now.
ID: h16jc84I agree that this is one of the problems, but let's not forget that the history of games coming out fine on day one is just now starting to bite us. Even today 99.9% of games are pre-ordered and come out with no major issues. Each year hundreds of games come out and we never hear anything about them other than reviews saying was fun/not fun.
However, in recent years we've had several MAJOR titles come out after 7 years of development each and major marketing push and major promises being made... then they come out and we find out the studio was straight up lying about what's been going on and the current state of things. So these bad studios are preying on the fact that most pre-orders go fine and release day one with no issues. We are getting mad and pointing the finger at pre-orders... I respectfully think it's greed and dishonesty from studios. They need to get punished bad enough to stop thinking that these kind of releases are ok and they can just patch later because in reality, the negative press and angry player base is more likely to cause the game to fold up.

I’d like to thank all those outriders who have carried my ass through these expeditions. Ain’t got time to be modding every piece of equipment. Whatever got the highest number let’s get it. Appreciate all y’all that stick with me even when the damage count after that first mission is so heavily skewed in your direction. THANK YOU
-
Lol, can relate.
-
This whole puzzle bit has aged like fine wine.
-
this is incredible
-
Outriders pulled the greatest bait and switch ever. Normally i don't pre-order but based on the demo i thought it was great and bought it.
The first game in a long time that offered a significant demo and still they fucked us.
-
LOVE this video!
-
Haven't played Outriders since the last "patch" - haven't even patched it. They win, I quit.
-
Can’t believe Sony let us get robbed with no avenue for refunds
-
I think if they fixed it like diablo 3 was fixed I think most would come back Ive read alot of people's remarks and they like the game but not the bugs
-
They got me with their stupid demo, ngl. I stopped preordering ages ago but combined with the near-perfect demo that got updated multiple times (plus the fact that GMG was selling it at 25% off I think) I totally fell for it. Note to self: the demo is not representative of the final product, wait a few weeks after the game is out at least, for real.
