“It’s almost finished“ - Duke Nukem developer

ID: h28ms0q

My one and only ever pre-order. I've learnt my lesson.

ID: h28mxd7

More like Star Citizen.

ID: h2981v2
also Miyamoto about Pikmin 4 how many years ago?
ID: h29j82o

There was a Pikmin 3?

3 : Anonymous2021/06/18 13:27 ID: h27h8l4

This is from Prime 3, released in 2007, not Prime 1.

ID: h29cnp0

Yeah my bad I mixed it up with the Metroid prime 1 "hunter Metroid ds" reference that everyone thought was a reference to Metroid prime hunters for the ds.

ID: h28db8i

well, metroid prime does encapsulate all 3 games. i suppose it's up to interpretation

edit: yes, i know i'm blind but i'm not deleting my mistake. it gets to stay here as my staple dyslexic moment

ID: h28ff4o

The title says “Metroid Prime from 2002”, I’m not sure there’s any other interpretation than the game Metroid Prime which released in 2002

ID: h28hpv8

Since when does "Metroid Prime from 2002" encapsulate an entire trilogy?

4 : Anonymous2021/06/18 15:13 ID: h27us6t

“Final stages of completion” well that was a lie

ID: h2805z6

Those final stages just made up 99.99% of the entire project!

ID: h282ghz

That's literally a thing. It's called the Ninety-ninety rule.

ID: h28rmzy

the translation next to it reads : "Experiment results unsuccessful. All attempts at using Metroids as a weapon power source have failed."

so they kinda say its not happening right after it

ID: h28kk01

Probably a computer with a habit of getting stuck at 99% when downloading/installing.

ID: h29344v

Samus has a habit of coming in and blowing things up before they're finished. I'm sure that has a negative effect on production timelines. I imagine they even a whole "Samus Recovery" department set up for dealing with those events.

Apparently dread was supposed to be a 3ds game? So that makes sense... kind of?

ID: h27ei0e

Regular DS. This is a screen from Prime 3 from '07

6 : Anonymous2021/06/18 13:13 ID: h27fi63

Actually this isn't in reference to Metroid Dread ironically. A video on the topic of the then cancelled metroid dread covers this well:

ID: h27zfxk

So we are just acting like Nintendo hasn't denied things and then immediately walked back on what they denied? Nintendo says they aren't making a Switch "Pro" but we all know that is a lie. Nintendo said they weren't making the Switch Lite, but that turned out to be a lie. Of course they would deny it.

The coincidence is too big to just ignore. It is a fact that Dread was being developed around 2005, but was canceled years later without ever being officially announced. We know that it was called Dread back then. Prime 3 had a small easter egg mentioning Dread, this can't just be a coincidence, especially considering it never came to fruition as anything else. And Finally a new game being released called "Dread" kinda just confirms that all those previous things were true.

The validity of the claim in that video falls apart when you stop pretending Nintendo doesn't lie to keep secrets.

ID: h28qwif

Except we don't know they're making a Switch Pro at all. All there ever has been about the topic are rumours.

Concerning Dread: There was a short video after the Direct, at the beginning of the Treehouse presentation where the Metroid creator spoke about the many attempts to get this game made.

7 : Anonymous2021/06/18 20:53 ID: h2949bo

There's actually another terminal right next to it saying that project "Dread" failed at the last minute lol

8 : Anonymous2021/06/18 21:46 ID: h29av8g

Im not really obsessive over videogame series but it actually pisses me off how stingy nintendo is with metroid

9 : Anonymous2021/06/18 18:27 ID: h28kvc6

Metroid devs stay 6 steps ahead...

10 : Anonymous2021/06/18 16:53 ID: h288e91

Ah least do your research before you repost this for the 10th time

11 : Anonymous2021/06/18 18:21 ID: h28k1vo

I want Prime 4 so bad, but dread looks great too!

12 : Anonymous2021/06/18 12:33 ID: h27b4d6

Good find! Love stuff like this.

13 : Anonymous2021/06/18 16:09 ID: h282e1r

Does this mean the thing chasing Samus is actually a Metroid? It looked purely mechanical in the trailer.

ID: h285qzx

Maybe not. Metroids were supposedly the galaxy's most versatile weapon. Perhaps they're robots made to do whatever it is that made metroids so unkillable.

ID: h28em2e

E.M.M.I looks like a DNA harvesting robot

ID: h28gxt1

Could be a robot made to hunt or research Metroids. There were many projects related to Metroids throughout the games.

ID: h28m40i

Could be some kind of space pirate-created weapon that has the same energy-siphoning properties as metroids

FPS > side scroller

ID: h28noxa

Side Scroller = Original Metroid series

FPS = Prime series, which is equally great, but not comparable IMO.

15 : Anonymous2021/06/18 21:09 ID: h296anx

Yes yes, trow this in shitpost, This comes up every.damm.time.

16 : Anonymous2021/06/18 21:15 ID: h2971i2

Big W

17 : Anonymous2021/06/18 23:34 ID: h29mx55

Wasn't this from Corruption?

18 : Anonymous2021/06/18 19:02 ID: h28pi6o

And also. Booo! Hate side scrollers. Lol
